hey guys... I have seen a lot of basketball this year starting november and ending now. lets just give it up to all of the teams particiapting in the state. It is an honor to make it and even more to the team who wins the whole thing. It takes a special team to win that. All of the teams are good. You have to be pretty good to get this far. Good luck to all of the teams. I bet noone knew this. there hasnt been a team from Middle Tennessee win the AAA state since 1984 or 1988 I think. good luck to all teams.

actually you are wrong. if it is a 3 way tie it goes to the next highest seed. It doesnt matter that dickson lost to clarksville and northeast twice. it would be what they did againest rossview at the # 4 seed.

I know one ref that stinks is Ron Sisk!!! wow he is terrible. you can not even speak with him. he cant even get up and down the court. I think you should have a in depth physical to be a ref. we get guys who cant even get up and down the court, and ones that do not know the game. Some of the refs you get have never even played the game... wow its getting bad!!

Well for one thing I feel that Henry is very overrated.. I said that at the beginning of the tear. They have not beat anyone that are contenders. They will not win any district games and will finish 6th or 7th. The problem is they have coaches and others on here pumping there team up so much on here. They have not been on here in forever talking about all of the success. All they have beat are cupcakes!!!! Clarksville, Northeast, and Rossview are the 3 best teams in the district. Any of the 3 could win the tourney!!

Yeah that is right it is my opinion!!! there isnt anyone on the thread that can pick the 4 teams that will be in the district tournament. the only spot that you do not want to finish is last because you do not want to play NE. not that they are not beatable but you do not want to play them 1st round. Now anyone else there is not a scare. benchwarmer.... who do you play for? too many players post on here!!

This district is about as equal as it gets. On any given night anyone can beat anyone!!! I will have to say Henry County is very much overrated. They were winning games againest the weaker half of the district. I would expect Henry to fall as low as 6th or 7th. Northeast lost but they are still the best team in the district. It looks like Rossview is making a little run but thats not a team to be scared of. The team thats coming and can put together run because they are so athletic is Sprigfield!!!! I will say Northwest @ Springfield will be a great game.

It is not the population that is the problem. It goes back to the family, values and pride. The public education system is only an example of the home. When parents took discipline out of the home the school was next. Parents dont take pride in being a parent and have no value system in with they live by and they pass that on to their children. in return you end up with a group of kids who have no pride, values morals or ethics. Every parent wants their child to play or participate but they have failed to teach them how to work for their goals and dreams. As an educator we get a lot of responsibility put on us but we are not the most influential person in that childs life. If you have a student athlete in your class and that person plays for you there isi only 1 hour of class and 2 hours of practice for a total of 3 hours out of 24 that you have to influence that child. Who is responsible for the other 21 hours? Parents have to step up and take more of an interest in their children if you want to see it change. The pieces of the puzzle are here its up to the parents and the community to put it together.

Well... I feel that you bring up a pretty good point. Clarksville does have good athletes but their are just so many schools which brings the talent throughout the whole county. Now for football and basketball. I can tell you one of the main issues and reasons of why those two sports aren't as good as Nashville and others is because of the feeder programs. That is where it all begins... If you look the middle school football teams are not an actual school teams. They are sponsered by a company. It does not feed into the highschool program... which that brings the dad who thinks he knows everything about football to coach the teams. Basketball only plays about 10 games plus the county tournament. They do not get enough games. That is also a problem with coaching because anyone is coaching who does not know th sport and its making highschool coaches go back and teach the things that they should have already known 5 years ago. thats just a start... what do you think?

It is funny that we count the red lights. You are right about Middlesboro, Pineville, and Bell County but you must understand that all three operate under different school systems. Pineville is under the Pineville City School System, Bell is under Bell County school system and Middlesboro is under Middlesboro operates under the Middlesboro City Or Independent School System while all of Claiborne Co. is under one system that is divided by the river. It is always this side of the river against that side of the river. Doc E. (if you know who i mean) runs the Harrogate side of the river and gets most anything he wants. The two sides never work together for the betterment of the children. It is always a cut throat deal no matter what and the kids are never the focal point. The only thing that matters is you screwed my grreat great great grandfather 120 years ago and now you must pay so the only way to do that is thru your child because i can and there is nothing you can do aboout it. It is absolutely one of the most sickening displays of adult behavior that i have ever seen. If you have a child in the system i want to appoligize and encourage you to think about maybe going to Ky with your childs education. Just a thought and good luck but dont look for things to change no time soon.

Although if you start at Cedar Fork and drive towards Knoxville down to Englands I think you will find that there actually eight stop lights. But anyway back to the subject at hand. Coach Cline would be Dennis Cline. He is Delynn's older brother and one heck of a good basketball coach. He took Powell Valley to the state tourn. one or two years straight but because he benched some of his players who were not playing as he thought they should he had to pay the price. One of the players happened to be related to someone who got elected to the school board. As far as the prominent doctors and lawyers yes you are exactly right. Doctor D. and Mr. S. are definately influencing the team as far as who gets to play and who the individual instruction goes to. I am sorry to say that if you think it isn't as bad as it has been then you are either new to the area of you are one of them "Good Old Boys" yourself. It is as bad if not worse than it has ever been. I would like to see the area do good in sports but i dont think its going to happen. There are to many people that owe to many other people and there for no one can't afford to step on the other ones toes simply because of they might know on them. It is as crooked as a town as i have ever seen. It almost could be classified as organized crime.

I think a lot of the problem with the entire system is nothing more than politics. It is a one red light town where everyone knows everyone else. When they built the two new high schools Coach Cline from Powell Valley wasn't even considered for the job at either school and had just taken his team to the state tourn. Everything in that system is nothing more than politics. It has nothing to do with what you know but WHO you know. And yes there are many times the better ball players choose not to play because they know that thy wont get a fair shot to play. In that system if your parents hold political postions, own or work for one of the larger companies in the town they will bend over backwards for you but if not it might be you who is bending over. Until the people of the that town get tired of it and decide to elect new officials they are always going to get the same old lieing scheming losing results.

Clarksville will find a way to win.. they will win by 5 and Northeast beats Kenwood by 15

anytime that you have Jenkins on your team you have a chance to win. He is the type of player that can take a game over.so yeah my opinion is that SC can beat the Green wave.

Yeah your top 3 teams as of now are northeast, henry, and clarksville. It is still real early. we havent even went all the way around to everyone playing each other. Kenwood had a good win last night againest Springfiled who is going to struggle. Dickson lead the whole game until the end and northeast made a run. Northwest was up 20-9 on clarksville last night. Mclendon got in early foul trouble. He dominated the 1st half from what I heard from a clarksville fan. Henry put it on Rossview last night by large digits. Henry and clarksville friday night looks to be a coin toss.

Rossview hasnt played real well yet. They still have somethings to prove. They will beat Henry tonight at home. I see what you are saying TENNBALL but Henry will loose 2 this week.

Just like I said they are an average team that will compete but will not win the district. or be the top 3.... They have played Springfield and Kenwood. Not taking anything away from those two teams which both have athletes and potential but if they are at the top like you say they are.. your supposed to win those tewo games Two teams that are picked 7 and 8. thiose are games they should win. What does everyone think about the games on Tuesday? Northwest@ Clarksville.. I feel this will be a pretty good game. Who ever executes the best and plays defense will win that game. Northeast @ Dickson will be a good one as well. I feel that Dickson will slow down Northeast some but in the end Northeast will find a way to win. Henry county @ rossview... Henry will beat them by 10. Rossview is overrated as we all knew. Kenwood will get their 1st win at springfield by 10. Both teams are wild!!! It should be interesting on how this district turns out.

Its always hard to play @ dickson. The gym is different.. they are just good on home court. the slow down style that they play always gives oter teams problems anyways.

I agree with you man.. I think Springfield will beat some people. They pretty much year in and year out have a good team. They compete every year. It is anyones district this year. Clarksville is still the team to beat. Until someone beats them noone has the right to say they are the best tem in the district. Tonights games will kinda give us a preview. I feel that Clarksville and Northeast will be a 5 point game either way. Rossview @ Dickson will be a good one. It is always hard to go into Dickson and win. that game will be decided within 6-10 points either way. Henry County and Kenwood will be a good one as well. See how Henry plays away from home. Kenwood is a much improved team. It should be interesting. Springfield travels to Northwest. that will be an up and down game. I feel that Northwest will pull that one out by 10-15 points. I know one thing.. We just need to open a Henry county message board because thats all that is being talked about!!!! I mean seriously.. who cares about a team from Henry county that never does anything in that league anyways. they can not compete.

I think everyones main problem is we are talking about Henry County way too much on here. I mean we are talking about a team that is going to be at the bottom spot. Like 6, 7.. something like that. Playing that cupcake schedule.. Lets just see after tuesday and see who wins the games.
