  1. Rayl is and will be just fine, MY source says right now he is the QB. I don't know why you keep gouging Mr. Rayl, He has worked his tail off getting ready for the season and has the respect of his teammates and coaches. So far you have been proven wrong on your statements and we will see about this one. BTW, that is a pretty cheap shot at Moses, he ran wild at Coffee Co., or did one of your "coaches" tell you different?! Oh yea, none of the coaches says they know who you are or have said any of the stuff you claim either. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="
  2. You are correct, we have some over zealous fans on here that don't understand Meigs football and how hard your kids play every year! But as for Jackson and Rayl, I trust Coach D will put his Best 11 on the field when it counts. I have heard him say in interview after interview, he is looking for depth right now and is trying to find people he can count on when their number is called. I think people saw last year that the Central "fourth quarter fold" didn't happen and that is what wins the close games.
  3. Hey Zone! I am a buddy of the guy over the Natural Gas system down there, (D. B.) Rayl is looking pretty good, still getting confortable with the system. Right now about half of those missing in action last week should be back, especially the D E's. Don't know about Jackson or Sloan (LB). Pryor and Green are out till at least mid season. The Chargers are looking forward to friday also, they know that this is a true measuring stick on where they are as a team. They have a great respect for Coach Grider and the Pirates.
  4. Curtis Jordan, Sloan, Borden, Pryor and the coach was Wlikerson who was NOT interviewing, he had some family business to take care of. Not having the first four DE's hurt stopping the wing T but the guys that filled in did a pretty good job, Shaw and Lawson. Soph and a freshman.
  5. With the rumors coming out of Meigs Co. that their QB is transferring to Central, you got to put the Central - Meigs game as being an interesting one to watch!!
  6. NO ONE has gone after Rayl, only a rumor, they have not contacted Central nor has anyone from Central contacted them. Ask the Rayls yourself! What is so funny is that a few very short years ago, folks would laugh their #### off if someone mentioned transferring to Central to play football. One really good season and everyone goes into panic mode and makes all kinds of wild accusations and worries about everything that Central does now. Go Figure!!
  7. You guys in the McMinn Central scrimmage faced about as good of DE's as you will see all year. One was All State last year and the other is a transfer with about as much tallent. Our LBs are also pretty good this year. We shut out McMinn Co. a AAAAA school last week in our other scrimmage. That is why your QB had such a tough time two weeks ago. You are correct on the other statements, Alcoa is very tallented and the RB's are beasts! Good luck next year, we have a lot of respect for your kids and coaching staff!
  8. Cheese, although the Lady Mocs are a mid major, they are consistantly ranked above 4 or 5 SEC teams and have been in the Big Dance 4 of the last 5 years. They are a quality program that is made up of mostly regional young ladies who always seem to fit well together. /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />
  9. Look what has happened in the past is done, BOTH teams ran up the score so everything is even. I will buy the fact that your coaches may not have called the onside kick but kids sometimes do things on their own. And for your info we called a pooch kick last year ourselves, Not onside, first year kicker missed it. It is easy to guess what the other side is thinking but no real way to know what is being called. Good luck to the Chiefs this year, We will be pulling for you most of the time this next year.
  10. They will play at Marion against McMinn Central who beat Hixson 8-5.
  11. Pretty good observation but Central also was without 2 starting DBs and the passes completed were all against the 2nd teamers. 2's against 2's was 14-0 Alcoa, Central is looking for depth and rotated out a bunch of people when the 2's were on the field. 1's vs 1's, Central took the fight to Alcoa pretty good. Alcoa couldn't block Central's two DE's without holding, pretty obvious holds. All in All, a good test for both teams, very even.
  12. There were some interest already by other teams BUT, Coach Moore developed a great relationship and it is close to home. Kylie has a number of family members and friends that will probably see most all home games at Chattanooga. This is a real good fit fo Kylie and she is very happy with the choice.
  13. Never ceases to amaze me about opinions!! What drive bys? And fights? Same kids played basketball that have been referred to on the football team and people sure didn't shy away from the Basketball games! No one draws more people to basketball than Central, also all season the football crowds were bigger than any other school with Polk close on attendance. Pleeeeese finally get over the rumor mill gossip!! Read in the DPA yesterday about an outsiders view of Central and how well behaved the students are there, get the real facts instead of inuendo. And by the way, the team GPA was 3.17 in football!!
  14. Prayers go out from Charger Country, hate to see any kid go down with an injury. Hope to see him in the fall.
  15. Two of the best facilities I have seen are McMinn Central and Farragut. For scenery outside of the ball park, the backdrop at Polk Co. is unmatched!
  16. I am sorry I said what I did about the respect thing, That was not the Christian way to respond. I guess if I am going to err on handling a person, it is going to be on trying to correct a problem and give a kid a chance to change. If it is true about Mr. Derrick taking him in, I promise you it is the Last opportunity for him. If he does turn around don't you think that could also be an inspiration to other kids? I am also tuned into a lot that happens around Central and I haven't heard about "all these other kids he has turned onto drugs", I just ask that you let the court and the administration do their jobs and then comment about what actually does happen and not keep spectulating about what might happen. I really don't care if he plays a down this year if it hurts the team. There are enough other returning athletes to still show up and play well on fridays. Again, I will wait on what happens, it is a long time until fall. And again I apologise for my comments, I know you are a good person.
  17. I read this three times brfore responding. I really had respect for you last year but I am not so sure right now. I NEVER said he shouldn't be held accountable, I NEVER said he should be treated differently, there is a policy in place that should be adhered to. I really don't know where you keep saying winning is everything, heck we have only had 1 winning season in a while and it is driving you folks crazy. And again you keep saying repeated offenses, and charges, that is your opinion and has been beat to death here. I just wish you folks would quit guessing what is going to happen, you need to worry about Polk and let Central deal with Central. You folks are idiots if you thing Coach Derrick makes decisions ALONE on player eligilibility, the principal, athletic director, all the other coaches always, and sometimes the Superintendent has to sign off on decisions. Quit acting like it is his decision alone and quit guessing.
  18. I give up, you Polk Co Intellectuals win! We will just throw anyone that messes up to the wolves and add to our drug problem in East Etowah and Parkstown. It doesn't matter that there are a few with some athletic tallent that IF they can be turned around, they could get a college education and break the pattern of past individuals. Yep, thats the ticket!! I feel for the high and mighties out there that find it that easy to turn on kids that need guidence. I am glad you haven't run into that problem YET at Polk, it is not fun and makes for hard decisions, but some people do, in their heart, want kids to grow into good adults. So if you don't know Richard Derrick, don't judge him on what you think, I know where his heart is in helping a kid.
  19. I don't want to take anything from a good Marshall Co. team but look at this stat: M. C. vs Gibson Marshall shot 29 foul shots to Gibson's 9, against Central, Marshall shot 26 vs Central's 3!! against Milan 12 vs 4. This is totally rediculous!! No way should there be that much difference in shots taken, as I know each team against Marshall drove the lane a lot but couldn't a call all night. A lot of threads from outside observers have noted this very thing on the officiating, not a bunch of "homers" calling foul.
  20. Guess what? It is friday and we are still playing! Seriously, you folks starting 5 is very good, but depth will take you to the "Boro. Good luck next year.
  21. Glad to see you back YEEHAW, spewing trash as always!! You will tell anything that you think fits your story. Jackson wasn't even a part of the incident you are freferring to, that was Harrison who was also innocent, it was his NON-PLAYING brother who got busted!! Go back to sleep until football season.
  22. Enough about "our Refs", You are the cryingist people I have ever seen, and about the football crack, we were also Region Champs so there would be another "Whuppin" you would be taking! /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" />
  23. You are exactly what I was referring to previously. You listed a bunch of things Jackson has supposedly done and I don't know where you got your info but you are way off line. Fights at practice, Bull S..., Cussing teachers, again a load of crap, the choking incident was two kids WRESTLING And punishment, by the way that was agreed to by the parents of the victim, was dished out. This isn't even football season and you are bashing coach Derrick without a clue as to what his decision is or will be on Mr. Jackson's status NEXT year. Get a life and don't worry about what Coach Derrick will do, he will do the right thing as he has since he got here. Making false accusations hurt the Central program as much or more that the truth simply because That is what gets sensationalized and retold as the truth, make sure of your facts before repeating them in the future.
  24. Kinda beating a dead horse ain't we? Still forgetting that Mr. Jackson was proven innocent in the previous incident (singular). Also this one happened during basketball season and at night after school hours and I haven't seen a single comment bashing Coach Armstrong for lack of control either. Talk about double standards!! Don't mean to flame here but just wanted to make the point about comments not being equal. Rest assured that Mr. Jackson WILL be delt with according to the atheltic policy to its fullest extent.
  25. I for one, will reserve MY judgement until the facts come out. It really disterbs me to hear people willing to throw kids away so easily without knowing the whole truth. Believe it or not, it isn't ALL about winning games as much as turning kids around and teaching them to be productive adults. I know for a fact that Coach Derrick teaches this to his kids. And yes some will stray, just like kids have done for a hundred years. A lot of today's kids don't have the roll models we had, so I for one will give Coach Derrick a chance to deal with this and trust he will make a good decision for the kid And for the program. And by the way, the 49 players that finished the year on the team had an average GPA of 3.17 the first semester. Not bad for a coach with no control as some have accused!!
