  1. Milan certainly has impressive credintials. I hope we play with some fire and determination, and some devine intervention would be nice as well. I do have to clear up one issue. The last pass play in the York - Smith game was no where close to getting intercepted. The receiver caught the ball, broke a tackle and ran down the sideline for an 86 yard touchdown. Can't wait til Friday. It will be my first visit to Milan, really looking forward to it.
  2. I think the game was everthing it was billed to be. Two heavy weights going at it toe to toe. York just hit the big uppercut for the win. Maybe we didn't play well enough to win but win we did. That's why you play the entire 48 minutes. One play in a game like that was the deciding factor. Going 2 just blew me away. A hero if you make it, a goats behind if you don't. Unfortunately I saw some unsportsmanlike behavior on both sides last night. I have nothing but respect the the Owls. They played their hearts out. I would be pulling for yall if you had won. I'm a believer in supporting your district once your team is out of it. I know Smith have York circled on their schedule next year, just like we will have Smith on ours. Milan does look like a giant on paper, but we can only hope our coaches can find some weakness to exploit. Also we have some weakness that needs mending. I will be making the trip. Go Dragons!
  3. I can only speak for myself, but no one that I talk to thinks that York will handle SC like we did up here 3 weeks ago. Both teams are playing well. I expect a hard hitting football game. People can say what they want about each other's opponents, but you still have to play hard to win in the playoffs. There is no way either of the head coaches are going to allow their players look past this game. There is nothing that can be said on here that would make me believe one team is better than the other. It doesn't matter about the previuous game or the previous 10 for that matter. It is all on the line on Friday night. The team the executes, makes the fewest mistakes, or any number of clichés, puts themselves in a better position to win. This one probably goes down to the wire. Given the history between the 2 teams this may be the best game to watch in TN this week. GO Dragons!
  4. There is a reason we play the games. Cause no one knows who will win. I can only say that the York boys were pretty fired up before the Smith game. If we come out with that same intensity, I think it will be a long night for Seq. Co. Sometimes the best team doesn't win. Preparation and desire will carry you part of the way. You still have to execute on the field. That is what makes this game great. Go Dragons!
  5. I have to admit that I haven't read this thread yet. I have to say that my Dragons have a steep hill ahead of them. Like we saw last night, anything is possible. York will really have to turn something else on against Marion in order to win. I believe our boys have the ability to win this game. It is do or die time now. The regular season is over. We just need to be 1 and 0 after this week. Hope everyone stays injury free. Go Dragons!
  6. I believe the Dragons will rebound in a big way. We need to get some confidence back for the playoffs. We could use some more time to get healthy, but so could everyone. /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" /> Bees aren't exactly a tasty snack but they will have to do. I hope we remember to remove the stinger before taking a bite. GO DRAGONS
  7. We were pretty much dominated by Marion. Any time you can control both sides of the ball the way they did, good things happen. The Warriors were well prepared and executed to near perfection. You guys should do well in the playoffs. I just hope this is a wakeup call for our boys. It would be easy to say that this game didn't mean anything to us. At least in the region standings it doesn't. But when it comes to the playoffs, this game means a lot. I think it shows us what kind of teams to expect to play if you want to go deep in the playoffs. That being said, Marion has a lot to look forward. Good luck Warriors. I do hope we get a chance to redeem ourselves in a few weeks.
  8. I do believe York has some guys getting back in the lineup. But several are playing banged up. I'm sure every team has players toughing it out like that at this point in the season. It still comes down to who can execute their gameplan and make the fewest mistakes. I haven't seen Marion play this year but you don't win 6 games in a row without doing something right. It will probably be around 50 degrees and rainy come game time so bring a poncho. I think this will be a defensive battle for both teams. As I said earlier, I give York the edge at home. Represent region 4 well, Dragons.
  9. I expect this to be a hard hitting, heavy weight battle from start to finish. Marion's losses came at the hands of 2 very good teams as did York's loss. I feel a good rivalry building between York and Marion. I like York's chances a little better since we are at home. Hopefully both teams can stay healthy since there's not much time to heal before the playoffs.
  10. Not sure if Jones will make it back before the season is over but time will tell. Seen Reynolds limping around, maybe a couple weeks or so away from returning. I don't know anything about the rest.
  11. The Dragons will likely be without at least 2 key players. I know we handled the Jets pretty easily last year, but I don't think Coach Wright will let the players overlook any team. Any thoughts?
  12. Huge win for Westmoreland. It was a great game for the first half. A super game in the second half if you were pulling for the Eagles. All the injured players did start. Not all of them finished though. If you have to rely on your 3rd string QB to pull out a comeback win you are definitely in trouble. With all those kids health, maybe its a different game. Westy was able to handle both our lines pretty good. They had a great gameplan. They were UP and ready for this game. I did get to talk to #61 at Taco Bell after the game. He was a very polite kid. I know he had quite a few tackles as well. Hopefully we can rebound and heal a little and get some of the younger kids to step up. Don't who I'm pulling for in the SC-Westy game but I'm sure it will be a good one.
  13. Now that is funny. However, I'm not gonna tell you which ones strike close to home. I expect this to be a hard fought battle won by the Dragons. A trick play or turnover could easily sway this game. Which is generally true in most games. Hopefully both teams make it through with no injuries.
  14. My son and his friend are looking to play on a league team or traveling team. Both played for their high school this year. My son and his friend both are pretty good pitchers and fielders, both had ERA's under 2.60. If interested please leave a reply and i will get back with you, thanks.
  15. Your support is truely appreciated. I'm going crazy just waiting to go to the game! Hope the Dragons play their style of hard-nosed football. If so, we should be in pretty good shape. Hope all the fans have a safe trip (including DCA fans). God Bless and good luck. Go Dragaons!
  16. Rivalries are good for your team. They help you prepare and get motivated. I obviously pull for York, but when playoffs start I also pull for other teams in the area or from our region. It gives you respectablility when you come out of a tough region. I would have to say that Livinston is likely our biggest rival. I was happy for them when they won the state. All the well-wishing will disappear next year when its time to play them. But at this point in the season I'm glad to get some support from unlikely places. That in my opinion is a sign of respect. I still think this will be a close, hard-fought game. I am sure the Dragons are up to the challenge. Go Dagons!
  17. I usually park across the street from the soccer field and walk a couple hundred yards to the stadium. Soccer field is on the left and stadium is on the right. When you go throught the gate you have to walk to the right along the track to get to the bleachers. Concessions and restrooms are under the bleachers. There are several eateries in the area: Dairy Queen (931) 879-9293 328 N Main St Dino's Pizza (931) 879-1616 409 N Main St Diana's Contry Cooking (next to Dino's) Garcias Mexican Restaurant (931) 752-8911 315 N Main St (the other Mexican place is no longer in business) Hangin Hog (bbq) (931) 879-7272 1005 S Taylor (corner of hwy127 and hwy296) Hardee's 461 N Main St Mc Donald's (931) 879-1770 401 N Main St Peking Buffet Chinese Restaurant (931) 879-0888 405 N Main St Pizza America (931) 879-6558 103 S Norris St Pizza Hut (931) 879-8053 312 N Main St Miss Ellie's Steak House 331 N Main St Taco Bell (931) 879-2385 606 Allardt Hwy KFC / Long John Silver's next to Wal-Mart and Walgreens We sure do like to eat around here.
  18. Time for your friendly weather update: Friday: A few clouds. Highs in the mid 40s and lows in the upper 20s. Hopefully we can keep the fire-breathing dragon going so we can stay warm. Otherwise, dress accordingly /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" /> Go Dragons!
  19. York can beat DCA if they come out with the same intensity they had for Smith Co. I don't like to make predictions, but I like our chances. I'm sure DCA feels good about their chances as well. I think this will prove to be the game of the week. No one makes it this far on luck alone, but a little luck can go a long ways. Hope the game is injury free for both teams. Sound like the winner will need some Devine intervention on the 30th. Go Dragons!
  20. That was exactly the kind of game I thought it would be. York was able to execute their game plan without the turnovers. Scoring the TD just before the half was HUGE. Owls deserve credit for a hard fought game. I never felt we had the game in the bag until the clock ran out. Smith Co. radio guys were really good sports during the game. Good luck next year. The focus is now on DCA. Go Dragons! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  21. AMEN! Go Gragons. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  22. Weather Update: Friday: Sunny skies. High near 50F. Winds W at 5 to 10 mph. Friday night: Clear skies. Low 34F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph. Hope the game is a barn burner. We will need it to keep warm! Go Dragons!
  23. Here it goes for my first post. I think this is going to be the best matchup of round 2. Everything that's posted on here won't amount to a hill of beans. Everyone is welcome to their own opinion and prediction. I must say the pictures have been pretty entertaining. I know that the coaches on both sides are going to keep the player focused. But, a lot can happen during a football to turn the tide one way or the other. The team that executes their game plan the best and turns the ball over the least will likely win. I just happen to be pulling for York. If Smith wins then I will be pulling for them in the next round. I hate that there will be only one representative from our region after this game. I think both teams expect this to be a real "slobber-knocker". Hopely both teams can make it through without any injuries. The games only get bigger from here on out. I hope the Dragon is breathing fire all night! Have a safe trip up the mountain.
