It is sad when folks from a Christian school mock anyone quoting a scripture in reference to someone mis-quoting one. Anyway, I don't have a dog in the hunt and I will gladly accept being called a Jesus freak by someone from a Christian school or any kind of school. Speaking of the sermon on the mount here is what Jesus said about people saying evil against you, I think I'll take his advice: "Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. graider1976, Jesus threw tables over in the midst of his Fathers house being desecrated. A big difference, righteous anger comes from God being offended not man being offended. Sorry, that is taking a scripture out of context to make you feel better about being angry and not being able to forgive. If you want to let your light shine as a Christian, you shouldn't assume that you deserve to be treated fairly in this world. Jesus promised the opposite for those who followed him. God bless.

I'm excited about WHHS football season. I'm not making any bold predictions, just think that they are going to be fun to watch and there is a lot of potential. In my totally non-expert opinion, the skill players are the best that I have seen in the last 20 years at WHHS. Of course that means nothing at this point, they have to play the games. I for one can't wait for fb season to start. I also don't put much stock in scrimmages and I seriously doubt you saw everything that DLHS has in the scrimmage. I do believe that DLHS will be knocking on the door of another championship game. I hope WHHS will be knocking on that same door.

If you are a WHHS fan, then do us all a favor and pretend that DaCatfish is not here. He really has issues and apparently of the mental kind. He is like responding to a really "slow" 8 year old. Just imagine he is an 8 year old kid that has some issues, you woulnd't argue with an 8 year old kid with issues, so no one should respond to Da Catfish. Anyone who spends the majority of their posts on a high school website ripping one team, definitely has some resentment issues. He is not "for" any team except the team that is playing WHHS. Again, some real issues. Everyone that is a WHHS fan should agree to just ignore him and restrain themselves from answering his posts that are only designed to draw people in a fight and then he will turn around and say "look at the crazy WH fans". Anyone have a guess to how good they can be this year? Also, does anyone know who will be playing in what positions. They should have lots of Sr's starting this year if everyone is still playing that played last year. Thanks

Unbiased basketball fan without a team who enjoyed the state tournament. Congratulations to Fulton. When I saw them at the start of the game against Dyer County yesterday, I wasn't sure about them. I was wrong, I will have to say they became my favorite team of the state tourney by the time it was over. They played tough, never lost their composure, except for the 1 tech against Dyer Co. Gallman, Minor, Steele and the pg Hollingsworth were just ice cold players. I was very impressed. Yesterdays game there were a couple of guys that played big in reserve, #10 did a good job in relief at pg and #30 played a few minutes but made some great decisions when he was in there and seemed to keep the offense composed rather than rushing things. By the way I sat behind about 3 very vocal Fulton fans yesterday who were ready to fire the coach and who were questioning his every move. I guess in spite of not doing what these parents/Fans?? thought were the right moves, he led his team to 2 big wins and the state tournament. The players and coach did a good job. Congratulations. On the topic of player meltdowns, I am going to venture a guess that there are coaches and adults in the players life that have contributed to allowing this behavior. I'm not excusing it, just think that coaches and leaders of these kids need to step up as well. The kid was thinking much more of himself than the team. More than likely he has learned that from coaches who have put winning the big games over taking the time to discipline this kind of behavior. So, many times these kids are being selfish, just as there coaches are being selfish by not helping the kids by making them accountable for their actions.

Just so you know, I am a basketball fan and am not affiliated with any of the teams in the state tourney. Just my observations about this game. Hats off to Union City for never quitting. They played like champions do, never giving up. Manassas has to be one of the worst coached teams I've seen in awhile. You have a 17 point lead in the 2nd half and the coach is not taking advantage of that kind of lead or taking advantage of his bigs. They had guys jacking up 3's within 5 seconds of breaking 1/2 court before the bigs ever got in position. How do you not take advantage of a 17 point lead and work the clock and get good shots and bang it inside????? It was an entertaining game to watch, yet I can not understand for the life of me what Manassas was thinking or why they weren't. Awesome job UC on a perfect season.

David Lipscomb should make up a t-shirt with the date of 2-19-09 or earlier. Because they probably won't make it out of district with their coaching. DL folks shouldn't be talking, since they are not the same kind of program they used to be and don't look like they are returning anytime soon.

Dude, your high school days are gone..... you really need to let it go that you were cut from the varsity team and that Drew took out the girl in high school that you were too afraid to ask out because you were embarrased you drove a AMC Pacer and were 20 years old in the 11th grade ........
