  1. From what I've heard Dobyns Bennet, AE or Fulton(but not both from what I've been told),and McMinn Central will be on Alcoa's schedule next year.
  2. Yes in standard english that is what hype means but Alcoa is using it in a different context, as an urban slang term as an abbreviation of the word hyperactive meaning that Alcoa is overly excited, rowdy, or raucous. but good try maybe next time
  3. Due to a thursday game only 30 teams are left that have no shot of winning a gold ball and Alcoa has another shut out.
  4. No it is an expectation that the team he supports will finish in the exact same place they have finished the past four seasons; would it be arrogant for milan fans to expect to loose in quater or semi finals? No it would not, but I explained this a few posts ago and you did not understand it then evidently, so my efforts are probably futile in posting this.
  5. According to Noah Webster's most famous publication one who is arrogant is disposed to exagerate one's own worth or importance often in an overbearing manner. Based on past results (winning four consecutive state championships) Alcoa fans are simply projecting foward that the status quo will be maintaied. Is this an exageration of Alcoa's worth or is it simply stating what Alcoa is; the team that will continue to mantain a high level of play. Based on what was stated earlier, no team in 2A has come within 11 points in the past five seasons why would Alcoa think any different, they are not being arrogant they are being realistic.
  6. Rankinated I am sorry but Hopkinsville is part of Christian County Public Schools ( Not a private Christian School). Not sure if you were there when Alcoa played Hopkinsville but they were undisciplined and thug was a good despcription of their players (and the officials were not much classier), yes Curtis Pulley was an alum who was dismissed from UK for frequent run ins with the law. And if memory serves me correctly they did have fairly balanced white to minority ratio on their team. Regardless, at that time they were considered one of Kentucky's elite teams and Alcoa had their way with them. Also according to wikipedia Jerry Claiborne died in 2000.
  7. Maybe if Milan is fortunate enough to play in 15th game you will finally understand what everyone is telling you. Milan is a very good 2A team but Alcoa is on its own level that the rest of 2A simply can not attain. Just stand down Milan fans so you don't embarass yourselves any further, because the comments you make are honestly obnoxious, if you all were just pompous jerks who flaunted your teams accolades that would be one thing, but you all seem to be ignorant of the world of 2A football around you and that is simply abhorrent. Milan fans I hope everyone on here plans to mock an harass you as much as I do after you loose, to remind you of how out of touch you are.
  8. Unless you actually have information to contribute as evidence of Alcoa recruiting don't you think it would best if you kept your asinine libelous comments to your self as not to defame the players Alcoa has that work hard and do things the right way so that they can be significantly better than your team. As for teams in GA, FL, or TX your right they probably are better than Alcoa, but that in no way diminishes the fact Alcoa is better than the rest of Tennessee's 2A. Alcoa beats who they have to beat to win state why do they need to prove themselves in an interstate matchup. Also it has been proven Alcoa is a lot better than loudon so by demeaning alcoa do you not just further abase any menial accomplishments loudon has achieved
  9. When posting something get a clue first. Alcoa and Maryville both have defined zones, being the cities of Alcoa and Maryville repectively. What you are attempting to allude to is the fact that both of theese schools accept tuition students in addition to children that live in their respective city school districts. This is done as a means to raise revenue and also as a philanthrophic endeavor to afford students who live outside of the city the opportunity to attend supperior academic institutions as compared to the Blount County School system. Any system in the state can choose to charge tuition but since most counties consolodate into one system it does make it much more difficult to attract out of district students. These systems ( alcoa and maryville) have been doing this long before they were the most dominant schools in their football classification because it improves population figures, increases test scores, and of course it does help attract athletes. Not to underplay the importance of tuition students to Alcoa athletics, but only about 10-15% of the football team pays tuition. This may seem high but about 30% of the general student body pays tuition at Alcoa (the number is substantionaly lower at Maryville). So if you would like to do math you will see that if you remove say the ten or so tuition paying football players and the 150 or so other tuition paying students you would see that Alcoa would be firmly in 1A, running over those sorry teams. So now ponder your excuse for not competing because that one is null.
  10. While you are correct TSSAA should go ahead and give Alcoa the trophy but, not playing other teams would greatly diminish the quality of Alcoa's highlight film. So a 15 game intrasquad scrimage schedule just will not work for the Tornadoes.
  11. 1. Alcoa 2,3,4. Three teams Alcoa is a lot better than.
  12. No that is not what I said but after thinking about yes the past four back winners should have been Randall Cobb, Chris Shiverdecker, Dustin Lindsey, Dustin Lindsey; and lineman should have been Tyler Robinson( I can understand someone else but he was still the best), Rae Sykes, Brandon Warren, Brandon Warren. As for kickers Alcoa does not attempt field goals so I will concede that award. As for "Benji" I seriously doubt he is as good as Jaron Toney but probably is better than Cameron Foster, Alcoa's number two back. This will become evident if Goodpasture is able to play Alcoa in Murfresboro again.
  13. The simple answer to your question is yes, but I will elaborate a little bit more for you. Alcoa is not just the best team no other team in 2A has shown they even belong on the same field as Alcoa and this is why no one else deserves to be considerd the best lineman in 2A. Coversely Maryvlie is the best team in 4A but they have not shown the outright dominance that Alcoa has even though they don't loose, teams can play close with Maryville and this is why I would have no problem with a Marsalis Teague or Eric Gordon winning 4A Mr. Football. I also recognize that Alcoa, due to split carries and short games, has no strong back competitor for the award and like I said earlier would reluctantly award the player from Milan the award.
  14. To reiterate my point what has this Goodpasture player done against Alcoa the past few title games. Good players look average against Alcoa this shows how much better Alcoa's players are and why they are more deserving of accolades like Mr. Football.
  15. I do not recall anywhere in my post where I trashed an individual player but yes I did trash his team, and I stand by the fact that giving a player from Adamsville Mr. Football is a poor decision. Giving this player from Adamsville Mr. Football would like giving Gerald McRath the Dick Butkus Award over James Laurintaitis, Brian cushing, Rey Maualuga, Travis Lewis, or Brandon Spikes. What you have no idea who Gerald McRath is; that is exactly my point ( He plays for Southern Miss and leads the FBS in takles). Awards don't have to go to players on the number one team but yes big awards should go to players who are least on teams that can compete with the upper echelon.
  16. These are according to the Knoxville News Sentinel (which are generaly lower than what the team keeps record of) through eight games (approx 20 quarters) he had 46 tkls, 4 scks, 5 tfl, and on offense 23 rec 336 yds 14.6 ypc and 8 tds. Without question Tyler Robinson is the most dominant lineman in all of 2A his stats may not be extraordinary but keep in mind how little he gets to play because no one in 2A can hang with Alcoa and well that 91 point gatlinburg debacle was a little embarassing and now Alcoa has to do all they can to prevent it from happening again, not to mention it seems his only competition comes from a guy from Adamsville. Lets be serious it would be disgrace if a player from a school that terrible beat out the most dominant player on the only team in 2A that can contend for a state title.
  17. Regardles of which scale you measure Alcoa by, Incredible phenomena will occur when the Tornadoes walk onto the field, but I prefer Mr. Fujitas original scale because it measures Alcoa's dominating abilty to a higher degree referencing wind speed greater than 261 mph as opposed to the "enhanced" scale which allows for a much less punishing air column which might only be an F4. Not to mention F5 rolls off the toungue much better. But in all seriousness does it really matter who ends up in what quadrant or even who makes the playoffs when we all know no one in 2A can play with Alcoa.
  18. Last I heard Rae was at Coffeyville and if you check their online media guide he is pictured but he is not on the active roster and I do not know why. He was reportedley on pace to graduate and be UT next year but, we will see if that comes to fruition because not being on the actual roster seems suspect to me. I am not sure if Dustin ended up DII solely based on grades my understanding is that UT would have continued to show interest in Dustin, but he did not want to play LB this was the case with a couple other FBS schools and I think Louisiana Lafeyette was the only other school that was willing to put him in the backfield, but without question if Dustin had preformed in the classroom he would be in the SEC and it is an unfortunate situation.
  19. Sorry I forgot to add this earlier but Dustin Lindsey of Alcoa is at the University of West Georgia
  20. I guess the fellow at milan is fairly talented from reading the preceeding posts and since statisticaly he is supperior to anyone on the only 2A roster that matters, that being Alcoa of course, he would get my vote for the back. As stated above TE/DE Tyler Robinson of the Alcoa Tornadoes is without question the most exemplary lineman within the classification of 2A. Even if Tyler were not the best, the fact that he is the best lineman Alcoa has should be enough for him to win the award because honestly no other team in 2A is worthy of any recognition, and since Alcoa does not have an adequate back represenative they should be awarded the lineman award. If I were to offer a back representative from the deserving 2A team it would have to be QB Chase James, who has completed 77% of his passes on the year for 14 touchdowns and only 2 interceptions he has only thrown for 820 yds up to this point but all of those have been in the first half because the mighty Tornadoes rarely play starters in the second half and they certainly will not utilize the passing games while possessing such insurmountable leads. In addition Chase is averaging 5.6 yards per carry with 4 rushing touchdowns.
  21. You are absolutely right, many Alcoa fans become entirely too defensive when the term "open zone" is brought up. There is nothing wrong with the fact that Alcoa allows players from other districts into their own. They have a system in place where students can choose to pay $400 annual tuition and be part of supperior academic institution as compared to most other local school districts (not to mention the fact that if they choose, they can play for one of the states best football programs). This system is in place at Alcoa Primarily for academics reasons and also to increase revenue. The state allots funding by number of students and if you can charge approximately 1/3 to 1/4 of your students in addition to receiving state funding for that student why would you choose to do anything different. The athletic aspect of Alcoa taking tuition students has only recently become a factor in acceptance, and yes this factor is considered when students are applying for tuition along with academic standing. To present all of Alcoa's great players coming from one community is an injustice to the Alcoa program that does attract outside players and should be respected and revered for that, so Alcoa fans, look at theese names Joei Feigler, Kyrus Lanxter, Brian Sommers, Jaron and Jalik Toney, Jeff Hickman, Austin Talent, Logan Sharpe, Tyler Robinson, they have added are adding or will in the future add a great deal prominance and recognition to the program. Why Alcoa fans, do you continue to down play this part of the program it is an integral part and should be upheld as such. Be proud alcoa fans that your school does all it can to advance athletics and academics beyond the status quo that these schools for the layperson accept as the "right" way a school district should opperate.
  22. In agreement with their new Nike contract Maryville does have to play another Nike school periodically and since I do believe that they are the only Nike sponsored team in Tennessee yes that opponent would have to be out of state.
