Why are you concerned with Maryville's schedule?

Really? It was a great first 5 minutes. Didn't MHS hold Red Bank to 9 straight 3 & outs?

Maryville played Powell the week before your loss, again, to the Rebels. Since Maryville has played Powell and Wm Blount every year for the past 10+ I would say this year was the exception. Powell has been way better than the Govs every one of those years until '07. As for the win over the Govs taking its toll on Maryville, I believe the Heritage game was actually the one that produced the injuries that Maryville is now healing from.

Cudos to MBA. Another important fact is Maryville would then have 11 games on their regular season schedule. Is that possible in TSSAA's rule? Was the Clinic Bowl already a fit for MBA since they didn't have 10 games on the schedule otherwise?

Honestly, this years BA schedule looks doable. Some of those on your schdule aren't so good. But, I guess you have to play them anyway?

" it will be a different story when they gotta fight to win every week." That would be true if it were actually fact. 5A regions 1 & 2 have very good teams. But they have some that certainly aren't. Actually, 4A Region 3 has had a pretty good run of excellent teams. Knox Central, Halls & Powell come to mind.

DB would do fine. Teams play up to the competition. How would it work if DB signed home & home contract with a couple of these out of state schools and then couldn't play due to new, larger region schedule in '09? If they do schedule one of those teams I'd want the 1st one ('08) at home. Maybe better to improve while playing the local teams and see what '09 brings.

Maryville's media department has produced a fast paced video of the Wm Blount game. They're playing "Another One Bites the Dust" as the hits and scoring from both sides continue. The video is played on Blount's Charter Cable channel 3. The last scene is video enhanced to show the Wm Blount extra point attempt that would have tied the game late. They showed an extended goal post. The kick was wide right. Nice job, MHS. PS, any news on the grassy nole?

I would like to see us go the other way; 3 classes. Would solve travel issues.

A lot of schools are showing enrollment increases. To prevent 5A from being top heavy will the TSSAA need to increase the 5A minimum enrollment level? Regardless, hope Maryville moves to 5A. A new mix in schedule would be interesting.

Is it legal for the Maryville High School Head Football Recruiter and Admissions Director to be out there at home games on the practice field handing out his business card to the cup-ball players? And whats with the clip board & stop watch?

You are flat-out WRONG! Those people are duds. Any recruiter worth anything would have been gettin bigger lineman. And why didn't they recruit Wm Blount's Garner? I say fire them all.

I look for the Rebels to use the 2-back set with everyone tight up close as they did against Alcoa. A 3 yard gain is great but a miss-step by the Wm Blount D-back will be deadly if a pass goes up. btw, Wm Blount does an excellent job throwing across the middle.

Maryville is the better team. Wm Blount has the athletes to do some damage. After seeing them play DB & Ooltewah (replay, with sound turned down) Maryville is capable of beating the Govs by 21. Glad its played-out on the field as well as on here but just don't think "willing" the Govs to victory is gonna work. Rebels by 21+.
