Does anyone know anything about Kingston Lady Jackets? How is there softball team going to be? I know they have been pretty good in the past? What are they coming with into the 2003 season?

I have some friends in Cocke County that plays softball, and I was wondering if anyone had a schedule. I was wondering how they are looking this year?

Hey rsquared good luck this season, hope it goes well. I would like to make a prediction of this softball season, or guessing how the teams will even out. I agree with you rsquared on mostly everything you said. Oakdale is coming back strong, and Rockwood is a team to watch out for. Rockwood got their pitcher back that quit last year, which she can throw pretty hard a few different pitches and is very consistant in her throwing. But on the other hand Rockwood lost their catcher last year. I am not sure if they had another one. In my opinion I dont think Harriman will have much this year. They lost Tessa and Misty. Which I know 2 players can't win a game it takes 9 but still looseing a strong catcher that had a good stick, and loosing a tremdous short/stop that also had a good stick can hurt a team. They have Pollit to pitch but I think everyone in the district will dominate her, everyone in the district should be able to kill the ball off of her unless she has picked up some speed. Their defense is still going to look pretty strong, but they will struggle alot this year I think in many areas that are small but needed very much. Oneida I have no clue about they are too far away to know anything about. Sunbright, will be coming along strong in the next few years. They are young but they have alot of talent coming up. Don't underestimate this team. Coalfield is returning somewhat strong this year, only thing they should be lacking in this year is senior leadership. They are going to be fairly young, but have a hand full of talent that (COACH) can work with. Coming tourny time they could up set alot of people but the out come. This year's district race is going to be close in this division.

Rockwood will be okay this year. But they will have competition this year with a couple of other teams. Oakdale is going to be extremely strong this year. I am looking for them to win it. Then you have to look at Sunbright they are coming along. Harriman pretty much lost all of their star players this past year. They still have Webb, Pollite, and a few more strong players. Coalfield is going to be okay. They are going to be young again but i think they will be able to hold there ground. I do agree that Rockwood has Crabtree,Helton, and a couple more girls i cant remember their names that era good strong athletes. But by far Oakdale is still strong. DDP

I am a pitcher and a catcher most of the time i start the game catching so as a catchers point of view I personally like the yellow ball a whole lot better. During the night it is easier to see for me. The white balls get dirty to easy and it turns the ball a dark color and in the field lights it actaully makes it harder to see. So I like the yellow balls better. DDP

rsquared: So I take it your wife finally told you everything?Or do you just know bits and pieces? I told her to tell you to call me but it does look like you got the message. I am coming to CHS friday to see everyone. We are out of school. I know Steve is getting together a fall league but i cant play for him cause that would make it where i couldn't play for RCHS. So i was looking for more along the lines of like a traveling fall league team, like i was playing for this summer. Doesnt look like i'm havin much luck though. I really miss you all. I was wondering if there was any 16&under softball fall league teams looking for another player? I can play anywhere but i normally catch and pitch. I have a good arm, and a good stick. Yes I do agree with you. Darrell is a very good pitching/hitting coach. I have went to him and he has helped me alot. DDP

Kingbrian, Yes I am coming to the game. I am going to miss my softball game for my knoxville team to come play in it. My dad said he would call the softball game. He would rather be in the field then behind the plate but you 2 can discuss that saturday.Last I heard from Roark he is coming.Who all is playing in it?I talked to Carmen today and she said she was still calling people about playing in it.So it would be bad if the oldies had to for-feit...By the way can it be any alumi in the district.Can they be from rockwood?Just wondering cause i was going to help her out if they could be.
