  1. swingjuice your comments are laughable. Since you don't know anything about Alcoa apparently, let me fill you in. In 1981 (might have been 82 but i think it was 81) we moved to 1a to 2a. We had 410 students at the time. Which puts us in 1a at the time BUT WE CHOSE TO MOVE UP. This probably cost us 3-4 basketball championships and 3-4 football titles. We did this because of scheduling, travel distant and gate revenue. As far as this year goes tornadogold said it best. We r the 2nd smallest 3a school in the state. Why would we move up??? As far as district games go. I would say CAK 2 years ago. They played us very close 28-14. They were the second best team in 2a that year. I hope this is good enough for you MHS.
  2. Yet the denial continues......now that is funny..... MLREB your something else. You my friend have serious issues. Alcoa has always had out of zone kids. When we played in 2a with 400 kids ( we should have been in 1a) know one was talking about the out of zoned kids then. Its just because we have been so successful the last few years. I laugh at people that want to bring this up. You look at any successful program in baseball, football, softball, or basketball and kids come from every where to play for that program. Whether its Flatrock Alabama's softball team or CAK soccer team or ALCOA and Maryville's football teams. You should know this as much as any considering Maryville has had hundreds of out of zone kids the last 20 years. As for Alcoa in the top 100, congrats. However in my opinion this should have come a lot sooner. In the last six years we have only been beat 6 times. 5 by Maryville and once to Fulton. We all know how good Maryville was and Fulton won the 3a championship that year. Just my own opinion.
  3. hhhhmmm interesting worthyone but I believe a little old 3a school tried to schedule the mighty 6a teams in Williamson and Rutherford County. ALCOA could not getting any of these schools to schedule them. As for the title games Maryville would have won at least 2 if not 3 of the last 5 in any classification. They have been extremely good especially in 04, 05, and 06. I'll guess we don't get any respect here in east Tn except when it comes to avoiding to play us. davidlimbaugh your right but when you comment something about east Tn football. Then it applies to all of EAST TENNESSEE FOOTBALL. You bring on your biggest and baddess in 2011 and 2012 from the big boys and schedule the TORNADOES (ALCOA). If you want to prove east Tn football is weak.
  4. WOW!! This game should be a dandy. O-line D-line Loundon has an edge. Skill players I would have to give the edge to CAK. I believe the difference might be CAK is a little more balanced on offense than Loudon. I'll take CAK in a close one very close. CAK 24 Loudon 20
  5. Govman, you and several other people must have not done your research. McMinn County is not that good this year. They barely beat McMinn Central and there an average at best 3a team this year. By the way, the best teams in 6a are in Nashville year end and out. Congrats on the Rebels for another win.
  6. CAK will be able to control the ball with its passing game. I expect the Warriors to win by at least 3 touchdowns. CAK 35 CARTER 14
  7. Good luck to the bulldogs. Milan by 3 touchdowns.
  8. This one should be a dandy with Oak Ridge pulling it out late. OAK RIDGE 20 Powell 13
  9. Maryville should take this one easily. Maryville 41 Mcminn County 10
  10. Thanks reverse, I know Fulton will circle this game next year. As they have several juniors on this team. We always enjoy playing Fulton because they can usually match us with athletes on the field. I hope we both renew the home and home series after next year. Good luck on the rest of the year Falcons.
  11. Yes but I believe its like 3rd and 12 Fulton. Maybe 2nd and 12 but its something like that. This is weird!!!
  12. ] Well Kidstaxi, I do believe Purdy is the best college prospect in this area. However Jaron Toney is averaging about 11 yards a carry and has played some very tough competition. If I'm not mistaken he has more yardage than anyone in the Knoxville area. He also has 12 touchdowns in 3 games. To say anyone is head over heels over Toney is just crazy and frankly doesn't have a clue. The other two backs are great also but Toney has to be in the discussion.
  13. Please Volfan 5. You may be the alcoa's worst poster on here. You have NEVER addressed the posts with factual information regarding the current OOZ's. Maybe you didn't comprehend the discussions so I will give you a break. I will repeat one more time for you. NOBODY from Maryville denies the great contributions to the football success from OOZ players and nobody stated there are not a "few" OOZ players on the Maryville freshman team. I know how many are on the Alcoa roster and it's been very very very clearly defined. Dang....and I use to teach at Alcoa. I bet my LAST DOLLAR that I never had you in class....... MLReb, I'm honored that you think I'm one of the worst Alcoa posters. Makes my night if you think that. I believe your a little jealous of the TORNADOES or maybe you wasn't retained as a teacher at Alcoa. One of the two! Oh yea ALCOA'S 3-0.
  14. Free loader?.....hummmm...didn't realize this was a pay board. BTW....that was weak. Trying to seek assistance from CoachT..... You might want to think of something better BC. Actually.....nothing I have stated has been challenged...especially from you and there is a very good reason that it hasn't. Facts are difficult to challenge....... Now get off your butt and help out a kid that needs you. Make yourself useful for something far more important besides farking.
  15. seqautchie, that looks like a great place to play. I went and seen a game in 1988 at Dunlap. Have they moved that field or have they remodeled that stadium? It looks very nice!! Antwan, I actually love the atmosphere and stadium there at Smith County. It reminds me a lot of Alcoa's. The home stadium is on a hill and your looking down at the field. The stands are very close to the stadium as there is no track in front of the bleachers. Great place to watch a football game but its also like Alcoa as the parking is terrible for big games.
  16. Nice analysis Chancey but I thought CAK (in 07) was the best team we played in 2a that year for sure. I believe that CAK beats Goodpasture by 2 touchdowns with their passing attack. Would have been a good matchup. I don't think any of those Loudon teams could have won any titles. They may have made it to the finals in 05 but I also think Goodpasture would have beat them by 2 or 3 touchdowns. The 09 Loudon teams is probably better on the offensive and defensive lines than any of their last teams. I just don't think they don't have the big play type guy on the offensive. They have several very good player but not any big time runners like Hawkins. # 5 is a very tough player and the quarterback looks like a very good player but he really doesn't have the great receiver to throw too. Well that's just my two thoughts. Good luck to Loudon.
  17. I will agree with scots50. We did come out flat but Loudon upfront is a lot better than most teams in 3a. As far as the passing game goes. We need to run shorter routes and not try and throw the bomb every play. Also we need to get Tyler the ball across the middle and not toward the sidelines. Passing game will be fine and know need to panic. Just my thoughts...
  18. Glad to see Maryville get a win. I knew GQ would have them ready but they need to get better every week to have a chance to make a deep run in the playoffs. Congrats to Maryville on getting back on track.
  19. OK cougarbrown, for one we don't recruit. I love it when someone wants to claim this. Do we have tuition students? YES! Most of Alcoa's athletes are from Alcoa. A lot of kids want to play for a winner, so we do gets some tuition student but not all of our kids are recruited like Goodpasture's. We don't have to recruit kids? People want to send their kids to Alcoa for a good education. Let me give you a little history because apparently you don't know squat. Alcoa had 420 students thru the 50's - until about 2005. We should have been single A in early 80's to about 2004 but we played up in (2a) division. Matter of fact we have played basketball in 2a for years, when we should have been in 1a. Did we cry about it?? NO we got better why don't you guys do the same. With the overcrowding at Maryville, Heritage, and William Blount ( all 6a now). Alcoa has received more tuition students. We now have about 540 students. Let me get you a little whine with that cheese. I hope we get another chance to beat you down again after this trash..
  20. A big congrats to AE on a big win. It looks like AE is for real. Hope to have a Alcoa vs AE match-up later on in the year. Fulton will need to heal their wounds quick because they have the TORNADOES next week.
  21. Great game plan by Loudon. The defense for Loudon played hard and Alcoa came out a little flat. Loudon is one of the better teams in 3A this year. Very impressed with the defensive line of Loudon's. Alcoa just didn't play Alcoa football in the first half but you have to give Loudon a lot of credit. They showed a lot of heart and didn't make anything easy. I believe this is a good wake up call for Alcoa. We better play better next week or we could lose. Both of Alcoa's defensive tackle's didn't play in the second half. Does anyone know what's wrong with these two kids. It looked like 58 ( Kerr ) had an ankle injury. As for 99, I don't know what's wrong with him? We will need to get better this week. This was one of the worst games I have seen Alcoa play in a long time. Don't want to take anything away from Loudon's performance but we just didn't play that good at all. Someone needs to be looking at 55 for Loudon. He is a very good player. He looks to be about 6' 6 285lbs. I said earlier in one of my post that Loudon's lines were very good and they proved that tonight. I would be shocked if they lose more than 1 game the rest of the season. Good luck to the Redskins and can't wait for a rematch.
  22. Good luck to both teams... Should be a great game as always. I'll take the falcons by a touchdown. Fulton- 20 AE- 13
  23. I don't believe we will ever know. I for one think we could beat any one in any classification. When you can run the way we can its hard to stop. The passing game is much better than anyone thinks. This is one of the best teams in the state BUT we will never actually know.
  24. Toney deserves the vote hands down. Who has chewed up Maryville that bad in the last 10 years??? ANSWER NO ONE!!!
  25. With the flu at Alcoa and the new clock running rule in the second half there's no way that Alcoa puts up 60 points. Alcoa 47 Loudon 7
