  1. I think you need to take some time and read the thread. Never has there been anything remotely stated that Alcoa wins because of transfers or tuition students. As a matter of fact only Alcoa fans have discussed erroneously that Maryville has greatly benefited because of tuition students. Actually Maryville has greatly benefited the last few years from transfer/move ins. The only discussion has been the 40% out of zone players that exist on COA's roster. I's just a fact that for some reason the COAN"s will not admit to and take offense. My guess, it destroys their smack talk that a little bitty school like COA can compete with larger schools. Very simply put in an open zone school and a meager $500 tuition to attend that school the size of the student population really doesn't matter. BTW....Alcoa really is a dump.... Hey Volfan5....tell us about those visiting side bleachers....... That was really weak VF5. MLREB, for you to call Alcoa a dump is plain sad on your part. This is the reason why a lot of people dislike the rebels. This attitude that were better than you bit. I personally have several good friends that graduate from Maryville. Matter of fact some of my best friends went to school there. There attitude is nothing like yours but this is how SOME Maryville folks act. As for the bleachers, well they will be HOT come 5:30. So bring your towel to wipe the sweat and the tears.
  2. Hey greyrider, I'll take 14-1 with another 5 straight titles. After this year we'll have the same as Maryville.
  3. STARZ my nephew has told me other wise . He's starts on the offensive line. So I'm going on what he has told me. I believe he should know. All this trash talk this weeks been good but come game time the trash gets put up. ALCOA 28 MARYVILLE 20
  4. What do you think about that Govolsknox?? Maryville visitor stands are terrible for a 4a school, especially compared to Alcoa's. The field looked pretty bad as well for the Jamboree. It looked like they had pieced it together in certain spots. So MLREB, you like William Blount and Heritage setup better??? I can't wait to get to the hill on Friday.
  5. MLREB, you sir are the liar. Alcoa does not have 34 to 38 players from outside the city limits. A complete and utter lie. One thing is for certain Maryville has had county & Knoxville players for years & years & years. Know one at Maryville can deny it. Nor has anyone from Alcoa ever really made a big issue of this until NOW. You want to call Alcoa out on this issue. Well I'm calling Maryville out on this issue. Your lies and deceit is pretty obvious. You have no prove of this. Do you understand how stupid you look to the other posters on this thread? Keep on with the excuses MLREB. Do we have 12-16 player on the team from outside the city?? YES! I believe one poster said it best earlier. The overcrowding of the other schools (WB, Heritage, and yes even Maryville) in this area have contributed to Alcoa picking up more student. BOTTOM LINE! There are 3 players starting for Alcoa that did not grow up in Alcoa. Get your facts straight. 40% is the most moronic statement I have ever heard KETTLE. I'll got a crying towel for you too. GET READY FOR BATTLE!!
  6. OOOH that smell, can't ya smell that smell. Yes I do APB.
  7. FBE all I'm going to say is we will see. That's why you play the game. This will be Alcoa's best chance to control the line of scrimmage. Alcoa is very explosive on offense and Maryville's defense will be hard pressed to control them the whole game. If Alcoa can get on the score board early then I'll feel real good about the outcome. Maryville is very good about scoring on the first drive of the game and last drive of the second quarter. I've never seen a team as good as Maryville when it comes to this aspect of the game. The Bell County game helps Alcoa for the simple fact that they pushed us a little bit in the first half and we responded pretty well. Also Maryville the last 30 years has had 5 TIMES THE AMOUNT OF KNOXVILLE KIDS AND COUNTY KIDS PLAY FOR THEM THAN ALCOA HAS. PERIOD! Hilarious that any Maryville fan brings this up. I find it ironic that the Maryville fans are even talking about the issue. That shows me how worried you are about this game. Get ready for WAR!
  8. Alcoa is by far the best place to watch a game in this county. Its seating is closer to the field than any stadium around. Even for the visitors in those hot aluminum bleachers.
  9. Sounds good GCPioneer. I believe you will be impressed with the atmosphere. This game is like no other on this side of the state. Glad to have you be careful on your way up.
  10. alcoafan72 I coundn't have said it any better. There's know helping MLREB. His percentages are about half that and we know that 96% of the starters the last 5 YEARS are from ALCOA. Like you said in an earlier post they grew up together and play even in the grasshopper league together. The funny thing about his comments are Maryville has raped the COUNTY SCHOOLS for years(& a few from Knoxville as well). But yet he still wants to come back to this subject. We can go on & on with this subject but I prefer to move on from this jealous behavior( or at least that's what it sounds like). Now back to this great rivalry between two very good teams. We all know what this game is going to come down to. That's who ever wins the battle in the trenches will secure the victory. This is Alcoa's best offensive and defensive lineman since 05. Its also their deepest team ever. Having said all of that Quarles will have his players jacked up and thinking there getting ready to play the STEELERS. They will be focused and well prepared to do battle. It will be an interesting chest match between the two coaches. Come Friday we will take our ALL STAR squad from Hall, Rock Gardens, Springbrook, Armona, Northwood, & Oakdale communities to take on the evil empire. THE F5 IS COMMIN SOON-----VERY SOON!!! SO YOU BETTER TAKE COVER!!!
  11. GREYRIDER several of the Maryville posters including yourself talk about how Alcoa doesn't play anyone in 2a. That's pretty much disrespecting any good team we have played. CAK has been a good team the last 3 years. Heck two years ago they were the 2nd best team in 2a that year. Loudon was pretty darn good 3 years ago. Tyner was also another good 2a team that we faced 4 years ago. Last year I thought Marion County was awful good football team along with Milan. Do you think these teams appreciate you or FBEmeritus talk about how we don't play anyone? How does that sound to these team? Also my point for Bell County is we beat them as bad as we beat Marion, CAK, and Milan. That was my point... MLREB, here you go again with the 40% rule. I thought it was 30 to 40%. So which is it??? With 90 players on the team that would put around 36 players not from Alcoa on the team. These #'s are fabricated by you. You have no proof of these percentages. You want to say you know because you taught there. Well heck that was in the early 80's. So what makes you an expert in 2009?? HAHAHA!! Like I have stated in an earlier post Alcoa has 3 players that start that did not go to Alcoa Middle School. I believe if you went around the state, that there would be alot of school with that same scenario. Including the mighty red rebels. Friday is getting closer and the rebels seem to be making excuses themselves.
  12. Where are all of the red rebels fans?? HEY --- GO TORNADOES!!!
  13. I'll say Farragut by at least 3 touchdowns. Oak Ridge's offense is average at best .
  14. GCPioneer, great to hear your going to come to Alcoa to watch this game. You will enjoy the atmosphere, as Alcoa has one of the best venues for a high school football game. At least that's my opinion. Also I have enjoyed your comments in the past. You seemed to be very informed about high school football, especially on the west side of the state. Let me know what you will be wearing so I can introduce myself. GO TORNADOES!!! Also make sure to get there by 5:30 or you will not get a seat for this game.
  15. Greyrider, if Maryville is the best team in 4a the last few years then yes they SHOULD beat the best team in 2a. That only makes sense. As for Alcoa not playing any competition, I say we have been that much better than everyone else. Just like the Rebels have. Have the Rebels not walked through all of their opponents on the east side of the bracket? We can use the same reasoning with the Rebels but its always a Maryville fan stating that Alcoa doesn't play anyone. Some of you can't stand to see us get any credit for anything. This show's me how arrogant you and a few other Maryville fans r. Also Bell County is a good football team and we shredded them last night but I guess we really didn't play anyone. RIGHT!
  16. I would like to give my thoughts and prayer to the Sullivan South family and also to the Logue family.
  17. Way to go RBS, glad you could get that monkey off your backs.
  18. WOW Smith County looks like they could have a very good year. Good luck to the owls.
  19. After watching Alcoa tonight I would say this game will be very interesting. Alcoa looks to be very physical and in excellent condition. We all know Maryville will be the same but this year we will be able to be just as physical. This will be a war on Friday.
  20. alcoafan72 Alcoa showed me alot tonight. That got behind early and really showed what they were made of. Great place to watch a game. I was really impressed with Bell County. They were a very physical team and I know they will win alot of games this year. Tony, Tyson, and Hambrick really looked great tonight. This game will help Alcoa next week and YES you need to be there next week.
  21. That's hilarious... If its dry tonight we will win by 3 to 4 touchdown. I believe this game will be closer than some think but Alcoa is simply to talented this year.
  22. We'll see come next Friday. Bell County the storm is moving in.
