On the single A side if Lyndie Ramsey from Unaka doesn't win miss basketball, imo, it would be a travesty. The girl had over 2900 points for her career while being double and triple teamed every game this year. Also outside the court she is an outstanding ambassador for the game of girls basketball. I know for a fact that she volunteers to help many special needs students in her free time too. Her character is second to none.

Agree. Congrats SS on a championship! You all missed a ton of easy shots but still controlled the game from start to finish.

SS by as much as they want. The state championship was just played between Southside and Elizabethton.

Elizabethton 30 Southside 15. Southside's high defensive pressure is currently not affecting the fundamentally sound Cyclones.

Congrats to the Hampton Bulldogs for punching their ticket to Murfreesboro, winners over Oneida tonight 73 to 55.

I know what you're saying. I said all along that I hoped both teams would finish one and two in the district to avoid each other in the region but it just didn't happen. I still say you all go to state next year and compete

Yes. It would be a huge advantage playing in the friendly confines of the Vanhuss/White gymnasium for the Lady Dogs and also the boys team too. It's difficult to go on the road and win any substate game.

That is great news. Since Hampton is moving to AA next year, I will definitely be a fan. IMO, championships are always won in the off-season anyway. It will be a privilege to watch them grow in the years to come.

I remember saying weeks ago when Cloudland beat Hampton up at Cloudland that I hoped we could finish first and second in the district to avoid each other in the region however unfortunately that didn't happen. I'm calling it right now King, Cloudland goes to state next year and competes.

IF Hampton makes the state tournament they will compete, they always do. If you look at past state tournament appearances by Hampton they're always competing and most times they make the semis and three times have made it to championship game. Also, I think whomever wins our region will make the state tournament however the loser will probably have to go to Oneida and imo will be an extremely tough place to get the W. It is doable but it will take an extreme effort to win the substate on the road. It is very difficult to keep beating a team over and over so the loss to UH might be a blessing for Hampton.

I wish Hampton could stay in Single A. I feel that's where we belong but it is what it is. I thought that clip would fire you up. Enjoy every minute of your girls playing because it goes by fast. These are good times.

Congrats to the Hampton Bulldogs on finishing the regular season with a 22-6 record and finishing first in the conference. (Five of those losses were to 4A or greater, if counting the Florida schools, 1 loss to 3a) A fantastic regular season. New season begins now. Everyone is back to 0-0. Hope to see the Dogs make a deep run this year.

A good win last night King. Sounds like the first of many battles coming up for the Lady Dogs and Lady Landers. I personally hope they can avoid each other in the region semis. I would say the best chance for that happening is for the Lady Dogs and Lady Landers to finish first and second in the District Tournament. It would be awesome to see both teams heading down the Murfreesboro but a lot right is going to have to happen for that to occur.
