Head coach and Principal was pretty classless at the end of the game. Got no problem with students storming the court after a buzzer beater. Players shouldn't have been waving by at the LC fans but kids will be kids. Head coach making a smart mouth comment to an assistant coach is bush league. Principle asking SRO to escort out an assistant coach for him wanting an explanation from their head coach smart comment is pretty low.

If my memory serves me right and my info is correct, it was after Kelsi Adkins and Pope's last year. But at this point only the ones on the call really knows the truth. your statement is what I am saying about either play every year or don't. after taylor group left we hit the bottom of the barrel and you are correct SHS wouldn't drop us then.

What I said was LHS/SHS both made the calls to stop playing LCHS. Now if either one of them has called to try and reschedule the last couple of years I haven't heard that. My opinion is either get on the schedule every year or not at all. None of the schools should be able to pick and choose when they play according to how good their teams are. I'm all for the 3 of them playing each other in every sport. Good for the rivalry and good for the money. Even though right now we can't beat either team.

Seeing as how the bigger school in the county wont play either of them anymore, county pride is on the line between these two" Don't think that statement is accurate... not even gonna debate that both LHS/SHS has had better girls teams the last few years, where the boys teams have been closer despite the last few years where LHS has had a very good team. But saying that LCHS won't play them anymore is not accurate. I can't say for 100% but I think it's pretty well know both SHS/LHS dropped LCHS in basketball. Which currently don't hurt my feelings because LCHS has nothing to gain and everything to lose, and the last couple of years we could not beat either of them. Good luck to both!

Listening to this game....WOW....what a game!

Being from Lawrenceburg, I think it's pretty awesome that we have 2 schools (loretto and summertown) from the same county in the state tournament. It's a testament to the athletes in this county. The last few years there has been 4 state championships and several other state tournament appearance's from these two schools. Both teams have experience in state tournaments and have players who have won state tournaments in other sports. That experience will do both teams well. I hope they are both playing on Saturday and then may the best team win! Good luck Lady Mustangs and Eagles....

I will 100% apologize if the post was received as running down kids, absolutely not my intentions. My shots were taken toward the one shooting them toward LCHS. Mine and your problems Clint run way deeper than that and you know it. We for sure need to deal with this face to face not on this board.

In no way am I running down kids. My shots are aimed squarely at you guys. Like I said just tired of the shots being throwed at us. Nobody cares where your kids/grandkids go to school. Just stop throwing shots at Lawrence County High School. Not Lawrenceburg central school. If you don't remember I coached and loved your granddaughter like my own for a long time. It has absolutely nothing to do with the kids!

Just tired of some people posting shots at LC on Facebook then deleting them that shows lack of mental capabilities, also not1toFwith is one to talk about being bff's with a coach... maybe we can work this out face to face.

they have 5 players are not homegrown kids including the coach's kid.... 4 are seniors. 3 of those ran from AAA to small school with lesser competition... but maybe getting to a state tournament and playing on a lesser team is better than playing on a better team and playing better competition...

No doubt it's summertown, I don't think there is any single A teams even worthy to be on the field with them. Probably run rule everybody to a non competitive state championship. Maybe the stars will line up this next week in Gulf Shores..... just maybe!

try playing a better non district schedule and you will lose some games. losing a few games isn't always a bad thing. playing tough competition will make you a better team especially at this time of the year. lot of teams in Murfreesboro is always looking for quality teams to play. all you got to do is ask.

good thing the substate game was a blowout... not sure if summertown could get a shot off in the last 1 1/2 minutes, when down by three. easy to win big but when you play close games experience and coaching matter and that's where they are the weakest. but hey if you will listen to their radio broadcast its never their fault it's always the officials.

Cheese with that wine....Losing always brings out the worst. Lawrence County plays harder on both ends of the court that any other team. They have as good of HS coach as there is in the country. They are undersized but play with more heart and desire. Coach Clark's team always overachieve their expectations. Class act all the way!

Girls basketball coach better look out....she will be next.

Didn't go to the game but I still got some opinions to voice. Now, I am purple and gold through and through so lets just get that out of the way. First off I get tired of hearing about Lawrenceburg being the bigger school therefore we must be much better. That's ignorant, when the whole school starts playing instead of 5 at a time then you got a gripe. Secondly, if i am not mistaken we absolutely beat the feathers off the eagles last year at our (fullsize gym) and won a close one at your gym too. Not to mention you had a semi final state tournament team. LCHS is extremly young with a lot of promise even this year. Please stop getting on here and insulting our team about playing E.O. COFFMAN just because you won by 23pts which is probably higher than your IQ. most of the kids that play was in E.O. COFFMAN last year so truth be told you don't have much to brag on since you only beat us by 23. By the way, heard most people left the gym after the girls game due to lack of oxygen in the crackerjack box you call a gym. And before you start complaining I agree totally you need a new and bigger gym.

Well I am gonna just play truth or incorrect statements at this point...1st: Shelley's last name is YOUNG not Long, which I totally understand your mistype when you live in a town where 90% of the people are LONGS'. 2nd: to say their won't be 5 charges called is stupid because what if they charge 10 times? 3rd'ly: I am not 100% sure but 99%, 1995 was the last year of the rivalry till this year, which made Cedric Wallace a senior therefore Bryant "chickenwing" Mitchell did not play the rivalry game, yet they could've played in a tournament against each other. Lastly: during the years of Cedric Wallace Summertown was very good. ie..going to state semi's with players like Jason Burleson, Jeremy "too cool" Aaron, Doug Riggs, etc. They were extremely good and well coached. I love to read the bickering back and forth because that is part of the rivalry but when you say something please know the facts. I think maybe we should get the sheriff to ref the next game!

You must be little Forrest. I think if Summertown would have practiced a couple times on a fullsize court they would have won the game. What you think tyme? What i just said is about as dumb as what you just agreed with. Welcome to getting your hat handed to you by an average AAA team. and yes i do think we are better than average but to make you feel better i will call us average.

One name you need to start going by is Forrest, Forrest Gump, I am not a smart man but I know what Love is Jenny. Only an idiot would say we care more about 3's than dunks because they count more. Not sure but if I was a betting man, and I am not, I would bet if you shot a 3 against everytime shelley went up for a dunk you would lose the game. I know this may be hard for you to get, what i am saying is no way can you shoot 3's good enough to beat the stats of somebody who can dunk, granted you take the same amout of shots. secondly, you only make statements like this because you have no one on the team that can dunk. Use some common sense Forrest! Oh yeah I like the old fart comment, thats funny.

I'm not too old but I am old enough to recollect some of the players from LCHS that could give you the wow factor while dunking. But what is troubling me is in all the years I have been watching basketball here and even the surrounding teams, summertown and wayne county, I don't even remember seeing 1 player dunk the ball on either team. Granted I don't go to practices and stuff like that but still, not a single time have I seen a player from either school dunk the ball. So I bet if Shelley played for either one of your teams and dunked it on us this board would be lit up with about how awesome of a dunker he is. So yes while it won't win the High School dunk contest don't try to belittle the fact... he has done something that I bet neither one of the two posters above have ever seen from their teams.

One thing is for sure that has not changed in the 15 years since this rivalry last took place, summertown fans crying about the officiating and making excuses for why they lost the game. Here is the deal, GET OVER IT. You lost and maybe you will win when LCHS comes to summertown but please quit crying about it. Nevertheless a few statements that have been made a just plum STUPID. Like the one posted that said Shelly Young will not dunk in Summertown. You are either suggesting that he will be fouled really hard intentionally or something will keep him from it. All you are doing is starting trouble on and off the court with those remarks. The saddest part of all is only a small portion of people wanting to watch the game will be able to see it. I still feel like the Summertown faithful will still hear this at the end of the game...IF YOU'RE LOSING AND YOU KNOW IT CLAP YOUR HANDS=
