What an embarassing waste of time to watch the girls wrestling yesterday. What ever happened to southern ladies? If I had a daughter, and I don't, I don't think it is very lady like to have her brawling on the mat. Part of what's going wrong with America these days.

Great discussions (until the middle schooler chimed in). In my humble opinion, many of the Indy fans carry the same whiny attitude as their head coach. wah wah wah. Let the results speak for themselves and move on. I would like to say as many sitting in the crowded area, stepping over gym bags, coolers, and other fans... MOVE THE TOURNAMENT. There are plenty of locations that are more central and larger to facilitate this tourny. SOMEBODY STOP doing the same thing just because it was done that way before. MAKE A CHANGE. Whoever is in charge, you can do it, believe in yourself.

Why don't we arrange for the week following the state championships, to have the top 4 wrestlers from D1 vs D2? And push all the BS aside? Hold it in Middle TN, maybe downtown Nashville; to have easy access for everyone to come and advertise the event?

yep, gotta wrestle 6 minutes, for sure. I was looking for updates from the tourney? We left midway thru the 2nd round. 119 was great, Ferguson had Ray pinned with a cradle, but ref did not call it, very disappointing. BUT, that's wrestling. Morris tech falled Obermyer. I enjoy watching the semi final rounds more than the finals..... On another note, the gym is way to croweded. The kids don't have anywhere to set let alone the fans. They need to lose the jv and freshman tournament and have it on Sunday.... I won't go back next year if it does not change, and neither will some of the other sardines that were packed around me /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

119 will be interesting, I suspect #1 seed may not get past first round.... he drew a pretty tough kid out of the gate. And, not sure #2 will make it past #3 seed. WE SHALL SEE.

Couple questions regarding Bwood Tourney? 1. Is the JV tourney going to take place as well as the Varsity? ( I hope not, as that is the most cramped gym I have ever been in, based on last year). 2. Has seeding been completed? Looks like there is going to be some great wrestling lined up....

Some great wrestling at Ravenwood, hats off to the folks who ran the tourney, the matches kept moving, the facility was clean and it was a nice event. As for all the smack talk, I think we can do without it. Just state the facts... Not only is Cicco good on the mat, he is great in school, I don't hear folks talk too much about the grades our wrestlers are getting? Wreslting is great, but let's not lose focus. There are only a handfull of kids out there today wrestling at Ravenwood that will go on to continue their wrestling into college. Aside from that, I would like to to say congrats to Lopez at 119, he looked great. Has he wrestled Biddy ? and what was the outcome? He looks young, is he a freshman? As for the seeding at 119, I think they got the #1 correct, but think the balance of them were scrambled up a bit. Great dicussions, I see good and bad in the rankings. I support doing away with the rankings and maybe simply post the individuals high school record. It is factual data, not a opinion. Granted, people will argue who's schedule is tougher, but that's ok, it will get sorted out at the larger tournaments thru the season and ultimately in Chatanooga.

Keep your eye on Mike Morris, getting stronger and wiser. I suspect if the seeding at Bradley was closer to being accurate at 119lbs., you would have seen 1st staying the same (where did Bond come from /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />, 2nd would be Biddy and 3rd would be Morris..... just an opinion.

The Outstanding Wrestler- Bond what was he seeded? Was somebody asleep during seeding? The upper bracket of 119 was loaded. Should Bond and Biddy been in the same half? If so, that was a pretty outstanding weight class.....

Can somebody post the individual results for the Clarksville vs. Indy, and the Blackman vs. Cordova matches?

I hope you find them as well, it is in poor taste which RBalumni commented. Please keep us updated if found. My son is the one who had is coat, wallet, and cell phone stolen at the tourny. I have recently found out about this occuring last year as well. I propose next year they have as much security in the weigh-in area as they do for drink and food patrol.....

We expect to see some great things at Blackman next year, it is a very young team !

As a newbie to the area, I have been around wrestling for 20 years and I have not heard of this kind of money grubbing, twist your arm for a buck behavior. Here is a novel idea, charge $2 more per ticket and allow the kids to eat properly. Also, there was NO PARKING available in any of the lots for Fridays session. Here's an idea, move the tournamanet to central TN. (Nashville, Murfreesboro) Try to think about all the wrestlers and there families traveling? Attendance would be up; not such a distance for "everyone" to drive and see there child or cousin, brother, grandson, friend wrestle. Don't get me wrong, I like Chatanooga, but think a little more about the entire state. I support the organizers and workers of the tourney, they have a done a good job running it.

thanks for the advice, that is exactly what we did. And, the little ###### did make some calls, so it should be easily tracked down. However, interesting enough, Verizon will not allow any phone records released that have not been billed due to FCC regulations. So, we have to file a subpoena to get them. Note, the police were very helpful at the tournament. If by chance a fellow wrestler or coach notices a kid with a new cell phone (nice,brand new Samsung), xs American Eagle fur hoodie with our sons name written on it, or a nice American eagle wallet that contains my sons driving permit, school lunch pass, school ID. We hoped that the kid that took the jacket with the cell phone and wallet in it, would realize the wrong and turn it in, but no luck. When we called the cell phone company, they said that it was being used a great deal. Thus we now know it was not a mistake. Please check with your kids and ask around? Thanks for your help.

I am sure your not being biased, but who do you recon will be in the semi with Biddy?

I am confused, on the matman rankings week 10, the notes read: "This Week: Bradbury pinned Lopez. Biddy defeated Beasley 7-0. Lopez defeated Beasley." How is Beasely still undefeated or are the notes incorrect? He does seem to be impoving through the season, as Morris beat him 2-0 in preseason, but lost to him at the Indy tourny. Good luck to all the boys who are undefeated, I can't wait to take some vacation days this week and watch some kick-a_ _ wrestling !

Feedback for Brentwood tournament manager- NOT ENOUGH SPACE FOR THE FANS. seating was ridiculeous, many fans agreed it was the worst conditions for seating aallll year. My wife commented that the condition of the womens restroom was 3rd world country. Just a recommendation, keep jv tournament seperate. Aside from that, the concession stand was awesome (great burgers), the parents were very nice and helpful. However, the wrestling was great, the team from KY looked strong. There were some great matchups and exciting wrestling. I know putting a tourny together that size takes a lot of coordination and hard work, it is much appreciated.
