  1. I have a couple of editing requests for North Greene's baseball schedule. March 11th is actually at Cosby and the score is correct. THe March 20th game has been cancelled. The April 17th game is now at Providence Academy. The March 14 and 16th games against West Greene is a Doubleheader for the 14th. The March 24th and 25th games against Washburn are a Double header as well. Both Double header games are 5 innings each. Thanks
  2. What's up with District 2A? No posts? What does it like your way this year? Who will win it and how good will they be? Have they played any scrimmages?
  3. My two cents and its not worth much. (By the way I have worn the stripes. I even wore them once for an in-school event. That 's not easy.) High schools coaches spend countless hours preparing for games including viewing game film. How many times a years does a ref go back and watch film of him or herself. I've seen a lot of games and have never seen it happen. I'm not saying its never done, but I believe it should be required a few times a year.
  4. Finals Greeneville 48 Science Hill 21
  5. Greeneville beats DB 39-30 I think and is currently beating SH in the championship 23-0. Had to stay home with strep, but getting updates by phone. I will update soon. Good job TD Artist.... Proud of ya bro!!
  6. North Greene's assistant has been a volunteer position for the last 3-4 yrs. I don't know about the status before that. Roger Dykes is the assistant, his daughter played for North Greene (I think?). and she graduated a couple years ago. Roger helped Coach Buchanan as a volunteer assistant. He does a great job, but is mainly only there for games. So, to make a long story short, James does almost everything behind the scenes. The new boys coach at North Greene this year is helping some as well. As said earlier, hats off James, great job.
  7. Let me backstep a little. I think officiating Greeneville/Greene County has been and is poor year round. There are tons of talent on both teams. I think there is enough talent to in Greeneville to bring home a state title this year and next. I hope it happens. I just think the ref situation doesn't help the team any, Nor does it help to bring great talent continuously to play holiday in tournaments. Good luck, thats a part of the equation also.
  8. I have tried my best to not say much about the ref situation in Greene County. I have coached at the H.S. level and feel that in is an injustice to our players, to our coaches, and to our fans. I was able to attend one day at the Ladies classics and its the same crew you have for all Greeneville games most of the time and the same crew you have at the Landair classic. If I were an out of state team, I would NEVER play in a Greeneville tournament where Greeneville was involved at Hal-Henard. If anyone disagrees, thats fine. But you must not have seen the Bradley Central vs. Greeneville (boys) or Knox Webb vs Greeneville (girls) last year, or Greenevilles first game of this tournament. Anyway, they may eventually learn that other options are available or as attendance declines and the tournament doesn't continue to be one ranked nationally. Good luck, as a fan of Greeneville and Greene County basketball, I hope we make a change.
  9. Hey TD Artist, I had to change my screen name. Hope you can figure it out Sports (Basketball, Baseball, and Wrestling last but not least.) Fan ( I likem all.) and ending with the great year of 1993. That'll be your quiz for the day. If you can't think of it ask Julie, I spent Sat. night with her while you were being a coach. LOL see ya soon.
