  1. Oakland plays the kind of game that Coffee county can win. They line up and come right at you. That is what coffee county is good at defending. I think as long as coffee does not turn the ball over as much as Riverdale did than it should be a good game. If they giev oakland the ball time and time again like riverdale it could be ugly.
  2. I don't know if I would predict a blow out, but it should be a very good hard hitting game. I hope the Raiders can pull this one off especially with the 1958 team there and all.
  3. I don't think Tullahoma really has much of a chance of pulling this one off. Lincoln has to many returners on Defense and that new transfer from Brentwood is a stud. He does great on both sides of the ball. If people thought Lincoln was tough last year just think what they will do now that they have TWO great linebackers instead of just one like they usually do.
  4. Wilson Central will not have much of a problem with the Rebs.
  5. Shelbyville goes to Coffee County this friday, how does everyone see this one going?
  6. Carlton Flatt is not the coach at Eagleville. It is Steve Carson the former offensive coordinator at Smyrna. So don't tell someone else they don't know what they are talking about when you obviously don't either. I will agreee with the fact that winning does not always mean good coaching though.
  7. Riverdale has not been getting Central kids for the past four years, maybe even five. Or are not supposed to be anyway. We all know how that goes. They are now fed by Christiana middle, and the kids from central are split between oakland and siegel. Why do you think Rankin left when he did.
  8. I was being sarcastic. I know that the best athletes in the state are in rutherford county, but I still believe in hard work, dedication, and heart winning ball games.
  9. Yes but you also have to remember that Siegel is a member of the mighty region 4 so there is no way that a lowly region 3 team would even have a chance right.
  10. I never said a hard game if you look at what I said I said a physical game. Every time a team comes to coffee county they always say that we are the most physical team they have ever played, but I guess being from Siegel you would not know anything about hard nose physical football anyway. The stars may win on the score board, but they will know they were in a fight when they get back on the bus I guarantee that.
  11. Guess we will see if their hard work pays off come Friday when the stars roll in to Manchester. Even though it is only a scrimage you can expect a physical game when you come into coffee county.
  12. I would imagine after loosing so many seniors that they would be way down this year. I guess we will just have to wait and see when Siegel comes to town on Friday.
  13. I think the kids and coaches have worked hard, but it could be a rough year for the big red. They lost a lot of players, but they do have some very hard workers back.
  14. I do not have anything against Coach Price I think he is a fine coach and a good man. I just don't think a program can start out as great as everyone seems to think this one is going to.
  15. I don't think they will be near as good as everyone seems to think. Especially Coach Price.
  16. I just dont know if he has the patience to start a program from scratch. I think he will do well there but I would not say an immediate success.
  17. wow looks like no body on the mountain likes to talk about football. Guess that means it will not be easy to produce winners up there.
  18. How are they looking for the J.V. schedule next year? I would like to see what Price can do starting a program from scratch.
  19. Spring is set for may 5th with a scrimage against Siegel on the 9th and McMinn on the 16th. And this was a great hire for this program. Eddie is a class act and one heck of a coach.
  20. Is Jennings leaving. I have heard it would serve the program well if he did.
  21. While I like Coach Britton as a man and a coach I tend to agree with some of the other poster I watched several games this year and see no reason that Franklin county did not win that region. They have far more athletes than any other school in region 3. I think Coach Britton was just in over his head. It would be hard to go from coaching a possition to a head job without at least being a coordinater first. I also want to ask you LOD has the line play dropped off any at the Dale since Britton has left. I have not seen any drop so do you think it could be the players and not the coach that made that line so great. Just a thought.
  22. Interesting that you should say you don't know much about football and then say that Coffee's o-line coach does not know what he is doing. Personally I think the line was one of their strong points this year.
  23. I agree it is the only fit. Me personall I do not like the smoke a mirror type of offense. I like straight up line down and measure your manhood I formation. But that would not work at coffee county either because you need that speed back to haul the mail which they do not have, nor will have any time soon. The wing T was perfect for coffee county and I think they would have spread the field more if they had a quarterback that they could depend on. I agree Browning could do some things that would be very good with the wing T. He seems to be a good coach that knows his stuff.
  24. Well thats the problem 2p you saw our team last year. NO QB, no WR, pretty good o-line, but they all graduated so no o-line with any experiance. While I am no wing T fan I think it was and still is the best fit for our athletes.
  25. I hope you are right too coffee county has taken so long that coaches are pulling there names out left and right. Sometimes its just not worth the waiting.
