  1. By the time you stop and eat, it is a 5 hour drive to the house for us. We are not afraid to eat our crow. One more observation. Everyone is giving kudos to the Alcoa offensive line, but I was not impressed one bit with them. This Oline that I heard so much about and you amassed 168 yards. Not too impressed. Now the D line was another story. They were very good.
  2. Congrats to Alcoa. 6 in a row is amazing. You guys just know how to win. The only thing I have to say that might sound negative to the Alcoa fan is please don't say you dominated. You won. You showed that you are the champs, but not dominated. It was turnovers that cost Milan any chance of winning. I am not saying that Alcoa did not have something to do with those turnovers because they did. However, the stats show a pretty evenly played game. We even outgained you guys in total yards and 1st downs. So, great win, but please quit disrespecting a great Milan team. I don't think any team held you to that few a yards. Not even the "great" Loudon that some people are talking about.
  3. Not sure how they do weather in the mountains but in the west forecasts are updated daily. Making your yesterday forecast null and void, leaving my newly updated forecast the obvious right forecast! Gary pickens even said so with his "accu weather" forecast! Lol lol!! If they knew about Gary Pickens they would be laughing too.
  4. Thank you Footballdad and it was me that brought up Loudon an CAK on this thread. About got beat to death for my statement but after all, there are many "opinions" on this site. My intention was to recognize both teams for the contributions they have made to high school football in the east and I stand by my statements. Boys on each of those teams have worked very hard to be where they are and I, for one, do not take that for granted. You represent your team, school and community very well. Let me take this opportunity to also recognize the Milan team. These kids have also worked hard to get where they are and I do not take them for granted either. Safe travels, good sportsmanship and an excellent game between the best in the east and the best in the west. Well, it only took to page 66
  5. Do you think Polk co. would have been a strong team in any other district? I don't think the stats back that up.
  6. Wasn't your Defense the real deal last year? And Our Defense got better in the 2nd half last as well.
  7. Sounds like sore loser talk to me. What makes you think Milan could not beat CAK and Loudon. Polk Co. is not even in the discussion by your standard. They played in one of if not the weakest districts in the entire state. Bottom line is we have lost 1 game in 2 years and 3 games in the last three years. Our 1 loss in the last 2 years is to Alcoa, and statistically speaking we held them as well or better as any other team. So, why is CAK and Loudon supposedly better. I know the answer. It is because we beat you and you are sore about it. Move on. It is over. Don't hate us because we are good. We did exactly what we said we would do. Not "sore loser" talk at all. Your team didn't beat my team directly. IMO the better football in the state is played in the East. What was the score of that game with Alcoa that Milan "held close" last season? Escapes me but wasn't it lopsided? I'm really not downing Milan. I think it was widely thought that, barring catastrophe, 3A was Alcoa's to lose. I don't think many teams could play with CAK and Loudon ,either. final score was 28-14. I would not say lopsided. The better team last year no doubt won the game, but we gave them a good fight. They were definitely better, but the margin was not that big, and by the way, we are not many teams. East Tn has some good teams, but Milan can play with any of them.
  8. Again, I am not saying that Milan is not a good football team, because I believe they are. But you guys are making them out to be the Florida Gators of Tennessee High School Football with all of the stats and stuff you are throwing out here. --- Like I said before, ALL of these stats look good on paper(and these kids are probably very tallented) but you didnt play anybody! You have the #46 ranked schedule in all of Tennessee AA Football...the 2 best record teams you played both went 11-2 with the #58 and #88 toughest schedules! Bell Co, Maryville, Loudon, Fulton, CAK, Elizabethton and maybe even Mcminn Central would have atleast went 12-1 if not 13-0 so far with any of those 3 schedules! But comparing stats that you listed: You have a much stronger legged kicker than we do but I dont believe he has missed as many kicks as your guy...we just dont attempt long ones! We are about even in recieving...looks like we both have 1 standout and then several more that can make a play or 2. Rushing is not even a contest...Alcoa is way better in this area! QB....I would be really shocked if our qb had the stats your qb does! I would have to give the edge to you in that area. Ours is young, but not playing as good as qb's in years past that we have had. I think he is tallented and has a strong arm, he is just not as accurate as we have been used to. Defense, I believe both teams have a good defense...you have a monster out there! However, we played a 4 time harder schedule than Milan did and stats show that we still give up a couple pts less a game. To be able to hold Maryville, Bell Co. and CAK, I would say as a whole our defense is better! Since you have a good unblemished record, come to Cookeville ready to play and we will see if your schedule this year prepared you for this game. May the best team win, Milan or Alcoa. --- Hey, in something we can all agree and get along on...are we not 2 of only 3 unbeaten teams in the whole state???? Congrads to both teams there!!! I agree that you guys had a hard schedule. You did last year, and we still shut your run game down. Well, you know what I mean. You did not run over us last year. What makes you think you will this year. It will be a good game from start to finish with Milan on top in the end. Moody will seal with a field goal to win by 10. Go DAWGS!!!
  9. My goodness. I don't know how much more smack we can talk. I am just about all smack talked out. I don't normally talk this much smack my self. Seriously!!! I just can't help myself with this game. That being said, I don't know if there is anymore to be done.
  10. So......what do you think the score will be?? 24-14 Milan, but regardless of who wins, the score will be nowhere close to that lopsided.
  11. Being how you are so confident.....why don't you put a number on "Alcoa puts as many as they want" comment. In other words......put your money where your mouth is. Well my prediction is 45-7 Alcoa with Milan getting 1 scrap touchdown late againsed the F-5....... lol Seriously. What do you really think the score will be? lol
  12. I could have sworn the Alcoa fans said they would give credit where credit is due. I thought they said on this thread that they did not like people making excuses about lack of execution. I could have sworn that Alcoa fans said it would not be lack of execution but because the opposing team had something to do with it. Milan fans get ready for some of these excuses Saturday morning. I noticed that you didn't include my next line in your singled out bold highlighting of my post. I pointed out that a lot of their lack of execution was due to Loudon's physical play. So quick to jump....Plus the yardage at that point in the game indicates that Alcoa was able to move the ball effectively. You all are just looking for something to whine about.... Yes, I noticed your meaningless back handed compliment. Compliments like that are not really compliments. "They played well, but..." Yeah that is a real compliment. Can't wait to see those on Sat. To say a team's physical play caused Alcoa some problems IS A COMPLIMENT. Shows you don't understand nor realize just how physical Alcoa is and Loudon (woops, another back handed compliment). Compliments are not really compliments Interesting logic. They are not really compliments when you preface them with statements like we could have played better or we did not execute. It will be the same kind of compliments you give out on Saturday morning after shocks you guys. It's almost like talking to a brick wall....they didn't execute as normal because of how Loudon was playing them.....how much more complimentary can you be?????????????? A lack of execution can be because of different factors. One factor was Loudon's physical play, but it wasn't the only factor. If you want to define that as a backhanded compliment go ahead. I'll call it what it is...the truth since I saw it I know. See, you did it again. Their physical play was a factor, but not the only factor. What was the other factor? Could they not get up for the game? What was it? What is the other excuse as to why your boys did not execute? I want to know. Let's hear it please. I know, one of the players had a fight with his girlfriend and just did not have his head in the game. That must be it.

  14. Yes, York was in very weak district. Look at the facts: 5 of 6 teams were in the playoffs 4 of those 5 won their first round game The Quad Final was an all-district affair Your statement that York was in a weak district make no sense. Now there is something that Milan and York fans can agree with. lol For the record, I think York is a fine team.
  15. You had 5 teams in your district. Polk Co. went 11-1 (early exit in playoffs). McMinn Central went 7-4, even earlier exit in the playoffs. That leaves 3 teams in your district. 2 of those teams had 2-8 records while the other team had an 0-10 record. I would not call that a stout district.
  16. Does your coach know you are on here? Most coaches would not be too happy if their players were on here. You are also very obvious so I am guessing that you don't mind. I am glad that you are so confident. You should be, and don't let any of us tell you different. However, you are not being very objective. You will see by January though.
  17. Sounds like sore loser talk to me. What makes you think Milan could not beat CAK and Loudon. Polk Co. is not even in the discussion by your standard. 18. Again, Milan represented the west last year and Alcoa represented the east. Both teams played the game. Milan made some mistakes and Alcoa made mistakes as well. Alcoa won the game 28-14. Therefore, they were the best team and took home their 5th straight gold ball. Can we please move on? Last year is gone. There is nothing we can do to change history! Go Tornadoes!!! Did not say you were not the best team last year. I will no longer attempt to explain it. It is sad when the people reading the posts do not comprehend them.
  19. They limited Alcoa to 3-5 yard gains instead of 7-10 yard gains. But....the score was a little misleading. Up to that point Alcoa had a dropped TD pass, 2 ints, and a failed 4th down conversion on the 12 or 15. There were probably 3-4 trips inside the 20 where they didn't score. It's not that Loudon was shutting them down, Alcoa didn't execute once they got there (very unusual). But a lot of that was due to the physical play of Loudon and their discipline on defense. Here's the thing with Alcoa that you will discover on Friday. They will take 6-8 minutes off the clock on a long drive. They play clock control on offense; not b/c they are afraid of the other teams offense but b/c this is their strategy....Keep their offense on the field the whole game. This happened a couple of times against Loudon but on those drives they didn't get any points. The yardage is lopsided but the score seems lower. For example in the 1st game vs CAK they outgained them 410-99, but the score was 24-7. Seems close....but Alcoa took at least 5 mins off the clock each time they had the ball. This has happened all year. But there is no question who is in control of the game. 20. While I will admit that this is one of the funniest posts yet, tell me how you were able to edit my comment. Obviously that quote is not what i said. You just one upped most of our politicians. lol
  21. No. No one ever said we were better than Alcoa last year. If they did, they are just as crazy as some of you guys are. We did give them a very good game though. We held a great running team to 2.9 yards per attempt. That is pretty good, but I don't think I have seen anyone say that our lack of execution was for any other reason than we played a great defense. I have yet to hear any of you guys say that though. To hear the way some of you guys talk, you would be undefeated if only you "executed" better. It is very sad that you can't just say we got beat by a better team. That is normally the case when you lose by 4 TD's, but whatever. We are still playing.
  22. Looking thru a one way glass..huh! Options made the best post when said it was in poor taste but no one is ever happy when a kid gets hurt. York came in manhandled Milan as much as Milan did York. The turnovers were the difference in the game and thats part of it. Get over it. The "Dawgs" won. Now go get your silver ball and be happy. Talk about a one way lens. You never man handled Milan. That is too funny. We won the battle up front consistently all night long. It is always a problem when someone meets a team that throws as much as you guys do because it can't be simulated in practice. However, the adjustments were made, and we fixed it. Numbers dont lie...All that yardage didnt come against the cheerleaders... Now, you know as well as I do that the bulk of your yardage came in the 1st half. We have already complimented you guys on the way you played. All the trick plays, the 4th conversions, etc. Good job. Milan made adjustments and shut you guys down. All of you Milan fans are wonderful one trick play for the first touchdown. The next touchdown came on a quick snap from the center to the quarterback runs 19 yards right up the middle for a touchdown right through the middle of the defense untouched. Not a trick play just no defense. The bulk of the yardage 1st half just for your info not hardly 203 1st half and 152 second half total of 355 yards to your 249.Over 100 yards difference u guys better thank god for Avery he was the man in this ballgame.By the way you didnt shut anything down we just came out of the redzone twice with no points Avery int. for 1 and the other int. in your endzone. It sure sounds like total domination to me.Yeah right not hardly .. I'm sorry. I also called a bounce pass on a wide receiver screen as a trick play when the officials let it go. By the way, it is easy to pass the ball from 20 to 20 if you are a good team. You guys are and you did. However, it is another to do it the redzone, and you guys could not and did not. Lots of great excuses though. "We did not execute." "If it weren't for those pesky turnovers." Our Defense had nothing to do with it. We are just a bunch of scrubs that got lucky I guess. Well we are still undefeated and playing for the championship. Yes you got dominated in the 2nd half. I call getting outscored 29-0 a total domination. Deal with it and move on. It is basketball season for you now.

  24. I don't know about Alcoa, although I am sure they do. Milan has one of the best kickers in the state. He has booted a 70 yard or so punt this year. I think a little better than half of his kickoffs are touchbacks. Also, he has the leg to make a 50 yard field goal. I think his long for the year is 47. We have some guys that can take it to the house also.
