  1. I don't even know where to begin because of the thesis you gave prior to getting to the point of not weighing in. Nothing was ever said about wrestle-offs being offered or not; only the issue of no weigh-ins. This is the first I have ever heard of wrestle-offs for any competition not having weigh-ins. Why have them at the Dual meet for that matter. Whether I can assist next year is beside the point. One kid sucked down to make weight only to find out they did not have to weigh in. I guess it falls on the wrestler who made weight. Put me down to assist next year with notifications: when you give a date and place, I can ensure there is a time as well. Also, will advise come as you are, no need to weigh in. There should be some thought to not having weigh-ins for the East/West Dual next year. Only tell all wrestlers they only have to make weight when they go to Iowa, unless they have changed their rules. Thanks.
  2. In this case, do you not believe that both wrestlers should have weighed in? Does anybody else have wrestle-offs where the wrestlers are not required to weigh in? Coach Kramer, were the 2 wrestlers who wrestled-off for the spot on the West team supposed to weigh-in? Maybe I am wrong to believe that weigh-ins should be a requirement for wrestling-off for any spot on a team whether it is your high school team, club team or all-star team. They did weigh in for the Dual Match so why would a wrestle off be any different? Thanks.
  3. Good enough. Thanks for responding. You answered my question for the East side, I am wondering if the same was held true for the West. The reason for my question is that I was advised there was a wrestle-off on the West side and there was no weigh-in. One of the coaches said weigh-ins were not needed. You have not idea what the wrestler weighed. One of the wrestlers busted his tail to make weight only to be told when he got to the wrestle-off that weigh-ins were not needed. If it was me, I would have either forced the other wrestler to weigh-in or I would have left. How is this possible?
  4. Congrat's to all who competed for in the Dixie Duals from Tennessee. Great job by the coaches and the wrestlers.
  5. Coach, my question was directed to: if you had 2 wrestlers in the same weight class for your team and you had a wrestle-off to determine who would represent the East team or the West team, would the wrestlers in the wrestle-off have to make a certain weight or could they weigh whatever and only have to make it at the Dual match. This is what I am alluding to. I am inquiring to the wrestle-offs prior to the East/West Dual match. Thanks in advance.
  6. How did this tournament do? I ask this because this originally was a Freshman Region Tournament Championship that got canceled because of weather. I hope it went well because the officials do a great job and are trying to raise money to give scholarships to wrestlers in the Middle Tennessee area.
  7. Best of luck to Olijah Oliver wrestling for Indiana University at 125 lbs. and former CBHS great (3 x's state champion from Tennessee) this weekend at the NCAA Wrestling Championships as well as all of the UTC wrestlers. I am sure all of the Tennessee wrestlers will do us all proud. If Olijah wins his first match, he will wrestle the #1 seed Tomasello from Ohio State. Best of Luck to all. It should be a great tournament.
  8. Where there wrestle-off's and if so, did you have to make a certain weight to wrestle off?
  9. Any word on how the Team Tennessee did?
  10. Ricky Fisher, former NCW and Father Ryan wrestler placed 6th at 197 lbs. at the NCAA Div III National Wrestling Tournament this weekend to earn All-American honors. Congratulations to Ricky for an outstanding season and a great year. You have done Tennessee proud.
  11. I believe he (Shelton) did not make it out of the Regions because he quit the team the week of the Regionals. He did not wrestle. Not sure your point. Oh, my bad. Seeing how you think Beech would have won a combined state, I digress. Quit drinking the funny stuff. A combined state would have Ryan running away with it and Baylor finishing 2nd followed by Bradley in 3rd. Beech is an afterthought and not even in the conversation.
  12. My sentiments exactly. Both are really good wrestlers.
  13. Nothing to do with not making sense, questioned why you said something that was not true. Still do not understand about the bashing. You asked somebody else about the bashing. I was not a part of that.
  14. Why would I direct questions about bashing? What do you mean by that comment? That is what you asked of another poster. I only asked why you kept saying "lucky" when the poster never said that. Thanks in advance.
  15. You have now posted 2x's that a poster on this thread said that the BCHS wrestler was lucky to win. Where and whoever said this? D2Wrestler only stated that Eason beat the BCHS wrestler the prior week and then the BCHS wrestler caught him the next week and pinned him, even said give him credit for finding a way to pin him. Where did he or anybody else on this post say that the BCHS wrestler was lucky to win. Thanks in advance.
  16. He rolled his ankle wrestling against the Father Ryan 220 lb wrestler? Really? I guess he is not committed? NOT!!!!!
  17. Really? Really, this is your first post. You take a pot shot at a kid who has done nothing to you or anybody and represents himself and his school to the best of his abilities. I can tell you for a fact, Eli has competed all over the country his entire career and takes a back seat to nobody. He has wrestled in all of the big tournaments and has done well. He is a Fargo AA from this past summer, so much for not committing. As for the Irishmen you claim told you this information, weak try at trying to belittle Eli and the Father Ryan program. Taxman, no need to apologize for taking up for your nephew. He has been a great wrestler and great ambassador for wrestling and the state of Tennessee. Eli takes a back seat to no one.
  18. Clarksville is going to be fine. Everybody needs to calm down. They have the right coach and they have the right coach in the Middle School/AAU Team working up there so be patient. Clarksville will come back. They are going through what every program goes through and that is a down time. Give Coach Badon a couple of years and this will be an afterthought. This happens when coaches leave when the cuppard is bare and this is not the first time it has happened at Clarksville. Coach Badon and Clarksville will be back.
  19. A-AA is a 16-man bracket with only 12 wrestlers. AAA is a 32-man bracket with 32 wrestlers. DII is an 8-man bracket with 8 wrestlers in all but 2 or 3 brackets.
  20. I am on the road. What happened to Russo? Please tell me he did not lose by DQ.
  21. You do a better job of training and if this is the officials first State Tournament to call, he only goes as an assistant. From there, the determination can be made as to what training and additional teaching the official needs. Sorry to rain on your parade; however, this would prove more beneficial than throwing them out cold turkey and calling matches that can impact a wrestler and a team.
  22. This is too funny. It never ceases to amaze me how people think they know everything and get on here and throw something against the wall to see if it sticks.
  23. With Father Ryan being in the finals Saturday night, that makes 9 of the past 10 years they have been in the finals. A remarkable run of success; however, they only won the dual title 2x's in that span.
  24. This is correct ruling. However, I would like to comment that the officiating was horrendous. These wrestlers deserve better. These kids work hard all year to only have an incompetent official call the match and cost a wrestler a match. It is not fair to the wrestler or their team. The officiating crews are getting thinner and thinner and the lack of good officials seems to diminish with each passing year. IMHO, in about 4 or 5 years, wrestling will really be suffering from quality officiating.
  25. Ouch! Too funny. I feel I am peaking......peaking at the sun.
