I do believe that these four could be put in skill positions and perform very well. I do believe that these athletes, for instance Hargrove IMO would be a Very affective TE. Time will only tell how these players will improve. I do believe Allen and Hargrove have repeatedly been in the paper for football (Times Free Press for Punting and Leading Tackles for A loss). I do believe these are all very aggressive athletes who strive to improve themselves as well as their teams.

I know of several all around athletes on the Polk team. Michael Hargrove, Tyler Lee, Jared Allen, and Chase Christian are the first four that come to mind. I know you could play these boys on either side of the ball and they would perform. Michael Hargrove, Jared Allen and Tyler Lee were standouts this year.

I agree totally Central had a lot of athletes this year. Everyone knew their potential if they could keep the behavior of certain players from destruction of the team. I believe Polk has more than one or two athletes. Polk's consistant athletes this year were the younger players. IMO Polk should be a competitive force the next two years.

I have been watching all the post on the teams in region 3 AAA. Central had a great game against Polk, no argument. Central basically played on a 50 yard field due to our offense not gaining any yards that night. I believe that scoring 16pts doesn't classify as a major scoring victory. Polk's defense played very well. With that said, I would be very careful DC. Central has the athletes to win this ballgame Friday night. While we are often consider a weaker region, (past years playoffs give good reason for that) this years teams are very hard nose. Central, Howard, and Polk County (if they show up ready to play) can compete in these playoff games. Don,t count them out. Go region 3AAA.

Hey Polk Fans have you seen the thread where SC is talking about how far they think they will go? I don't think they take our boys too serious. Interesting. Best wishes to our team and coaching staff! Hope everyone has a safe trip, and game is injury free for both teams.

I heard the taunting, it was there from beginning to end. There is something to be said about winning with class and losing with class. Central does not do it in either case. Central won the game. They have great athletes no question about it. I know Polk's team is coached by a man who demands sportsmanship, good conduct on and off the field, and hardwork. I believe Polk will be a team in the next several years that will definitely be contender for 1st place in the region. I know there is some really good people at central, but unfortunately the ones that display the negative behavior is the ones who get noticed.

If you go to Polks game every Friday you know #24 does more right than he does wrong. Every player has a rough night. When we played Meigs last Friday every player from top to bottom looked off. I had seen great improvement every week in OUR qb, He looked very sharp in the game against Howard. I know the Team supports him and can't wait to see all of them playing Friday.

I believe #79 and #62 are standouts on defense.

I believe there are some players that have put up some good numbers on defense and offense. We do have a players mention in Times Free Press for tackles for loss, and punting and defense is always recognized in different areas. Offense has been there to. I think we do have standout players, Coach Davis just spreads the praise around. That is what these guys need to stay focused as a team. I like the fact that these players strive individually and go 110%, but team is the most important thing to them.

I don't think half the starters are sophmores. If I am not mistaken there are only about three or four sophmores that play. Yes, the sophmores are in key positions ( of course all positions are importantin the game of football), but they seem to have done very well. Don't forget there are some great seniors and juniors as well. One thing I can say about these athletes they are a TEAM. I don't exactly think they got smacked in the mouth against Howard. Howard knew they had been in a ballgame, and Polk never quit. Hats off to Howard, Definitely not taking anything away from them. They are a very good football team.

Really? When did #22, #27, and #43 get injured? Just curious?

The football players at Polk are aTEAM first and foremost. Using players #'s or name is fine if it is done as a positive. I think that is totally the case here, and there is nothing wrong with it at all. I think the POLK Team celebrates with each players success, and rallies around each other no matter what. This is a great group to watch. Look forward to Friday night.

I think that fans will see Polk's offense improve every week. They will get their rhythm going playing every week. I can't help but think playing then having a week off is not the best at the beginning of the season . I know the guys are really eager also. Big improvement from Bledsoe to ER, and against a much better defense. I have a lot of confidence in these guus, they will get the job done. Defense plays very aggressive and goes after it on every snap. All these guys are Hard nose players. How great it is to watch them on Friday night

This should be a great game. I know Polk has some young starters, but they also have some great senior leadership. The combination together is so great to watch. I know East Ridge is improved from last year, so it should be a good Friday night game. I think Polk will pull this one out at the end. Good Luck to all the players on the field.

What a great athlete Jared allen is. Fun To watch. I also like the other young players Michael Hargrove and Tyler Lee. Hargrove plays great defense and Lee is one tough guy on the run. These are all fine young men and athletes. I believe the East Ridge game willbe a good one.

I hope you understand that I really support any school that is providing sports and other programs for students no matter what school they go to. I know the only chance a school or program has is the support of it fans and community, whether public or private. Hope you team has good luck and succeeds.

I believe that you need to slow down on telling someone that they are complaining. I wasn't. The fact is private schools charge outrageous fees and tuitions, and you think the public schools have a clouded jugdement about them. Get real. The attitude toward the smaller rural schools is definitely there and everyone knows it. Sorry, Have no sympathey for private schools not having everything they need. I do support my school and other schools as well, including private. I have never heard on of my friends parents complaining about their private school not having needed equipment. Most students have things they need for athletics and school. I have seen parents by things for the less fortunate when their was a member like that on our team or in our school. This I know exsists in private schools as well, but you can't tell me they don't have the resources to supply them with what they need. I hope you understand what I'm saying.

I'm sure that all private schools don't have everything they need, especially when starting a new program, but I would hope the needs would be provided by the outrageous tuition these schools charge. I know several people who teach at private school and their pay is insulting., with the exception of McCallie, Baylor, and GPS. I do believe the public school system has a more difficult time providing needs for students and athletes. Also, Polk Does play private schools in almost all of their sports. Notre Dame in Football, Boyd Buc and Hamilton Height Christian in Basketball, McCallie , Boyd Buc and Grace (Ool Tournament) in baseball, Boyd Buc in softball. I believe Polk has held their own in all sports when playing these private schools, they beat Notre Dame in football, Baseball team won except suffered a one loss to McCallie not sure about basketball and softball. We all know some season are better than others, sometimes you win sometimes you lose. I think normally it all balances out. Sorry, there will not be a lot of concern about private schools not having thing they need.

I think there are several players from Polk that have been mentioned in area newspapers. Jared Allen Michael Hargrove Tyler Lee Jake rowland from Meigs County I believe these players are starting varsity. I think the area has some great freshman. Can't wait to see them in the future.

I have been reading topics on coacht for the last couple of years and have really enjoyed reading about some fine young athletes in District 5. I have watched the "freshman" at polk county play for the last several years, and they are very consistent ballplayers who have not needed their stats to be padded. They are contributing to their team in batting, pitching, and fielding. It is a shame that when a young ball player has success that someone would not be able to accept it. All teams from time to time will have a group of young players that are very athletic and stand out at an early age, this is the case right now with Polk. Polk also has a GREAT group of Seniors that are very welcoming to their freshman, and are doing a great job in giving them leadership on the field. I believe their are several teams in this area who have some really athletic freshman, I hope all these young men continue to play well, and we should all look forward to watching them play over the next several years.
