  1. Walker Valley's offense was held below 71 points 9 times this season and were held in the 72 -78 point range 8 times, so I'd say Shelbyville's defense was only average against Walker Valley by looking at that stat. I was at the game tonight and thought Shelbyville was a very good team, but it would be wrong to say their defense was anything special above what I've seen around here.
  2. Yes I have an opinion. After reading many posts in this thread about how invincible Shelbyville is, I'm wondering how they even lost a game this year, or why they're the runnerup from their region playing on the road??? And you think WV hasn't had several good teams trying many defensive sets against them???
  3. I will be there from Wednesday on until the Chargerettes hopefully win the gold. I don't care who we draw in the first round. Our girls are capable and aren't intimidated by anyone.
  4. I really like McMinn Central's chances in the state. There is no doubt they had the toughest competitior (Upperman) last night of the eight AA teams going to Murfreesboro.
  5. I was very impressed with Upperman. With about two minutes to go in this game, Central had a two point lead and Upperman had the ball.....so the game could have gone either way at that point had the Lady Bees scored. When Upperman had to foul they chose a sophmore who sank all 6 of her free throws to close out the game. Definitely one of the best high scholl games I've seen between two very good teams battling hard and fierce like the warriors they are. They both belonged in Murfreesboro!!!!
  6. WAY TO GO GHARGERETTES!!! Murfreesboro bound!!!
  7. What makes you think South Greene will even play Upperman?
  8. The only problem will be getting into the game and finding a place to sit unless you're there in line when the doors open at 6:00. Last year there were several hundred people in line when the doors opened and people were scurrying for good seats when they went immediately to the gym. The Central fans will consume the place, and it's naturally loud due to the design. Should be a great atmosphere with two of the state's best teams playing before a standing room only arena.
  9. I'm not sure if the time is regulated by TSSAA, like too many things are. I imagine Upperman will be selling tickets at their school, won't they? Perhaps some of the people who post on here who work at Central or Upperman will post that information.
  10. Hey, the McMinn Central fans missed you last night and this morning coming over to our discussion thread about our game. Were you trying to remove that foot from your mouth??? Remember, you were talking trash about how South Greene was going to clean everyone's clock??? /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> Good luck to both SG and Elizabethton - two very good teams! AA is loaded this year. By the way from here on out if you lose, it's over. Central has to play a mad Upperman team Saturday night, and that one could go either way.
  11. It's one of the round gyms that was popular about 40 years ago to build. And it is LOUD because of the design! I don't know if they're allowed to sell more than seating capacity. The place will be packed to the rafters. I'd suggest getting a ticket as early as possible, then dining at Memories or Michael's in Etowah if you want good food. There are also several of the fast food style chains in Etowah. Be back to get in line about an hour prior to game time.
  12. Yeah, like I'd wager a bet with someone on an internet message board I don't even know. Remember, I'm not from Greene County. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Who knows, SG may not even make it far enough into state to get beat by Central. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  13. Sorry, those past accomplishments from long ago won't do this time a bit of good. None of the ladies on this South Greene team has ever won a state championship. And the present McMinn Central ladies have made it much further in the state than the present ladies from South Greene.
  14. You're correct - Coach Ricker. He's kin to some Renner's who live in Calhoun, TN, who were origianlly from Greene County. The Renner girl played on Meigs' state championship teams.
  15. That's more north, than east. I guess they meant South Greene? Is Coach Renner still coaching there? Thanks, my wife called and reminded me that she was right AGAIN. /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />
