  1. i could tense turmoil Thursday night but both boys and girls are still winning.
  2. We are not!!! IF it was not for 3 very good hard working seniors, that believed in each other and this team. this season would have been worse than what it was!!!! I say again Games are won and lost in the off season!!!!!! And Coffee has NO off season program... If Scroggins wants any success next year he better get something going for the off season. He needs to open the gym everyday and make the girls shoot!!!! Every successful team has an off season program, its the only way you will get better! Somebody needs to step up and make this system understand that one man can not coach 3 sports and expect to be successful!!!! I do not mean any disrespect to Scroggins but he has to much on his plate and the kids of the program suffer....

I saw some pretty good 16U teams as well.
  4. 65-77 hmmmm, i really dont think that is exceptable. if you compare to the previous coaches. Kids and the community deserve better. i dont see it getting any better. i really dont know if our community is ready for what it is going to take to get back to where we want to be. example: girls using their whole off season for basketball, not softball or soccer! Manchester has a Soccer coach that won ONE game last year, i know that there was a girl from westwood that was there best player and would Love to play both, and she was told if she played Basketball she would be waisting her time playing soccer. and from what i understand that the middle school had a player in the same situation. Could be the best two athletes in the freshman class and because of Coffee's system they are not allowing kids to play more than one sport!! Coffee is going to have to evaluate their programs and see if they are getting the best for their money. THE BOTTOM LINE IS THAT OUR KIDS DESERVE THE BEST AND I AM NOT SURE WE ARE GETTING THAT!!! ITS GOING TO TAKE THE COFFEE COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION TO GET INVOLVED BEFORE SOMETHING HAPPENS!!! I know that the board of education might not want to be involved, there probably is not one that even feels the effects of what is going on, but they are elected to make changes when its time.........
  5. You are right i do think people care however i dont see it getting any better. until someone at the top recognize that there is a problem nothing is going to happen. i have watched Manchester sports along time and i have never seen it this bad. granted we are beating the teams that we are suppose too but that is it, and i really think that Machester has better to offer. i just dont see Sroggins being the answer to the problems. he needs to stick to Volley Ball and give basketball up, but from what i see that will never happen. i still stick to what i said earlier, somebody with some influence is going to have to get involved to make a change!!!
  6. My concern is that nobody really cares about girls sports, and i am also affraid that this problem will get worse before it gets better simply because there is nobody involved that can make any changes, and that is sad because Manchester has always had a stong female athletic program.
  7. Ok, i am new to CoachT and this subject, however i have watched Manchester Sports for awhile, so here is my thoughts which is not worth much. The problems as i see it goes deeper than just coaching its the lack of adminstration for the last few years, if i am not mistaking we have had 4 principles, 3 AD's and 2 director of schools, with a current Principal that does not know what it takes to be successful. Look at her track record!! Our feeder program is somewhat of a joke. Westwood will not give up the 9th graders so you loose some players due to the fact they dont feel like they are part of the school. Coaching is a big problem in both schools (Westwood and Coffee Mid) and they have no pride in there system and loosing is ok. Our off season at all levels is a joke, these coaches get paid, and the pay is for the off season as well as the season. You win and lose during your off season work, which ours is a joke. Scroggins has to much on his plate. Our School System is letting one man coach three sports, basketball, tennis, and volleyball not to mention manage elementary basketball. toooooo much. Girls basketball takes back seat to everthing, which is wrong due to the fact it is a revenue sport, not to mention if you are going to have the program you should have coaches that want and are willing to do what it takes to be the best!! Bottom line is players dont like Scroggins, there are kids walking the halls that need to be playing but they won't come out because of him. Dont get me wrong its ok to not like your coach but he should be respected and he is not. Summary: he has to much on his plate and is not willing to work the off season like other successfull programs. i think that he does an ok job in the games, but like i said games are won and lost in the off season. i dont know what kind of freshman team we had, but if we expect any success from them we need to look at our program and make some changes from the feeder program up. Student Athletics are willing to work and they like discipline, we need to find coaches that are willing to provide both.
  8. Dont know allot about football, but Coffee put up some big yards and points in the last five years running the wing-t.This past year was off a little due to the fact that their Qb was a one year starter and the o-line could not pass block, and struggled with the run sometimes. The new coach should consider hiring Britton to coach the o-line because the one they have didnt know anything about it. It appears to me that the Wing-t was a good offense for Coffee Co, i hope they stick with it.
  9. Players, what a joke! Franklin Co. has more players walking the halls than most schools have playing. With the players they had last year they should have finished no worse than 2nd in that region. For what ever reason the players would not play for Britton. There is several coaches that would love to have that job if the system would let them coach. Don't waist your time on Flatt, he will do yall the same way he did Moore County.
