MTCS vs Forrest was a great game (7-5). I was there all day yesterday and I can honestly say that the umps are probably worse this year then they were last year at district tournament. It was about as bad as you'll ever see especially in this game. It's amazing to me that the TSSAA doesnt look into this and maybe for once get some quality umpire crews in the tournaments. I tried keeping count yesterday after the 3rd inning and not even counting balls and strikes and I can think of 4 blown calls that went against Forrest and 2 that went against MTCS. I don't even want to get started about the umpire behind the plate. Inconsistent & just TERRIBLE. (For both teams!)

I believe MTCS is going to be a good team, I just dont know how there going to replace Siler, Francis, there catcher, and that 3rd baseman/pitcher who transferred halfway through this season last year and still be ranked in the top two. They have just as good of a chance being #1 or #2 but for the preseason i would rank them at 3. Not saying thats where there going too finish though. And Forrest didnt really have a dominate pitcher but Davis was probably more consistent at keeping them in the game and he's a junior or senior this season? Obviosly Cascade has the upper hand if they find a solid #2 pitcher. I cant wait too watch (MoMo,Blackwell,Davis,Hendrix) all go up against one another.

Not really sure about Eagleville losing there coach, they just got a new coach last season so it would surprise me. But as it looks, MOST everyone agrees that Cascade and Forrest are the two whom are looking down at everyone. I cant wait too see what the top 4 teams in 9A have too offer.

Forrest vs Marshall County... Inter-county rival who have split 2-2 past two seasons.. Wish I'd get too see ace vs ace like I did last season in the M.C. 3-2 win. That was a fun one and should be good again. Lookout Valley vs Rockwood... should be a fun one too watch with both being state favorites. Cascade vs Cornersville... If this "dirty ball" game is being played it should be fun to watch, This game was started years ago and they play with a dirty scuffed up ball from beginning to end I believe. Oh Okay, I dont think I ever saw Bowman pitch last season; who is his backup?? & Okay it looks like it should be a great year of baseball. Hopefully I can make it too the Forrest vs Cascade game this season.. I think those two games will decide who gets the top seed in district tournament, then anything can happen in the tournament.

I like how you kept everyone guessing on Francis, that was a good answer. Yeah I believe every team has to feel holes this season. Cascade has too find a 1st and 2nd baseman and there left side of the infield could get shaky when MoMo pitches if he ever got healthy from last season. Forrest has too find a couple of outfielders and I "believe" there 1st baseman was a senior also? I really cant wait too see how everything plays out this season. Hopefully district 9A can maybe not only get one to the 'Boro but maybe get 2 this season! /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

District 9A has had sme great centerfielders and this year will be no different, Davis from Forrest can rome some ground(not sure if he's a senior or a junior this season), Blackwell from Eagleville(Senior) He threw 85-86 off the mound last season so you know how good his arm is. And Batts from Cascade should fit in nicely with this group. He's quick, time will tell how much ground he can cover. Davis and Blackwell had two of the best sticks also last season, not sure what Batts can do at the plate. Didn't get too see him play last season due to transfer rules.

HaHa.. So the year they actually should talk a little they dont?? Im sure when there below .500 again they will start talking again.. It's weird, when there losing they talk, when there winning they just stay too themselves?

I know the Champions lost Levi Bain and Bowman and i believe one more but batts is elgible this season and Edmunson who transferred from Community could make an impact at 2nd base this season as he was a good 2nd baseman for the Vikings last season.. Cougarball is there truth too francis transferring too Riverdale??? & Yes I believe Forrest should be better defensively, and there top 2 pitchers were fine; however, they lost Burkett but return Davis who is solid, then have to find some depth after.. that was a problem last season. I think if there D improves it will help there pitching out! Eagleville I believe will battle for 4th this season but seriously if Blackwell is rolling then Eagleville could upset the Champions,Rockets, or Cougars on any day.

Should be a great tournament! looking forward to seeing the Middle TN(Forrest,Mt.Pleasant,MTCS,CA) teams play over in the east against LV and Rockwood. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

What can we expect from them this season?? Lintz has signed on to play with Kentucky but can they replace there 8 seniors from last year?

I dont think Van Buren has a good shot unless the whole district tourney is being played there?? I believe Forrest will take it and look for another trip to the 'Boro.

District 9A should have some great games this season. Cascade has to be the favorite, there only real question is can they replace there 1st baseman/#2 pitcher(Bowman) from last season. Forrest should be ready to make another run after getting there youngsters(Davis,Henson,Brothers) some experience last season. MTCS could get into the mix if they can replace some holes,(Siler, and is there truth to Francis trassferring)??? Eagleville could surprise some teams in 9A IF they get Blackwell some HELP!! Communtiy lost there 2nd baseman to Cascade, and not sure what boyd and Van Buren have this season?

I agree with you. Cascade's Stewart is a great player if healthy?? Davis from Forrest is an all around great player. Not sure but word going around is MTCS lost there freshman center fielder/pitcher (Francis) from last season. That could hurt them! Summertown should be a great team this season as they return Long and Gobble. Just have to find someone to replace Ivie. Does anyone know what Collinwood has this season?? I'm not really sure about Mt. Pleasant, besides they have a good hitter in Clifton. Is Nashville Christian or East Robertson ready to take the next step??
