  1. Will brackets be up later today?
  2. I have two brothers at Independence, Ben Little, sr. and Caleb Little, fr. And I would like to just say digi and Jumbo DO NOT speak for the parents or fans or anybody from Independence for that matter. It was an unfortunate tournament that we didn't wrestle our best in. Hindsight is 20/20 and I know we'd all like to go back and do some things differently but we can't. So instead we'll say congratulations to the top four and move on and look forward to state duals next year. So we'll see you guys next week. Thank You and Sorry Thadd Little
  3. After more research i've decided that Bryan Keifer will not win 135, Parker Smith from Centenial will win it there.
  4. My prediction for the champs, yall have forgotten some important names. 103-Ben Smith (BW) 112- Blake Thomas (BW) 119- Austin Woods (Franklin) 125- Chase Beasley (Indy) 130- Austin Cox (Indy) 135- Keifer (Ravenwood) 140- Seth Seneca (Indy) 145-Brennan Cox (Indy) 152- Chris Sinscheimer (Indy) 160- Taylor Dixon (Indy) 171- Stephen King (Indy) 189- Mr. Sports Illustrated (BW) 215- Thomas Berry (Indy) 285- Dalton Burge (Indy) And I think that it'll be close but I think Indy will pull off the team win too. /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" />
  5. Brentwood has three really good wrestlers at those weights. Starting with Ben Smith at 103, then Blake Thomas at 112 (only times ive seen him lose was to Jack Boone, and those were nail biters) and Josh Overmyer at 119. Indy has Kevin Bratt at 119 and Chase Beasley at 125.
  6. No way Hames could beat Watson. Ethan is an outstanding wrestler, don't get me wrong, but hes got his hands full at state with Jared Browning, who is my pick to win it. Zach Watson is just on a completely different level and would blow through Hames, at least a major.
  7. All of the money at MTSU goes to our football and basketball programs. If I'm correct than Title 9 says that you have to offer the same amount of scholarships to men as women. All of male scholarships go to football and basketball since they are both division 1.
  8. Overton and Brentwood are in Region 6 and will be at Independence this weekend. Blackman is in Region 5 and will probably be hosting regionals at home.
  9. You and me both, unfortunately due to Title 9 that will never happen. BUT to say we finished 11th in the nation in a division where our top five compete against d2 and d3 and naia schools and consistently beat them is pretty good. We have a good recruiting class lined up for next year too. Now we just gotta get them in here.
  10. I also never said that Indy was better than Cleveland but I did say that I think that they need to really sit down and seed this tournament not just throw it together like they did. I would love to get Indy a match with Cleveland and Bradley next year, but thats not my call. This is the strongest team we will have for many years, and you have to understand that we are very disappointed in our performance, and we do BELIEVE that had we been on the bottom side of the bracket (if they wouldve seeded it correctly) we would've come home with a second place trophy. Instead of not placing at all.
  11. easy hass, our only losses this year are to clarksville and ryan, but we've beaten clarksville too, you cant say that yall are a better dual team than indy based on how you guys did in an individual tournament. some teams match up well with others, look at indy clarksville and hendersonville for example. Clarksville matched up very well against us, they moved some people around and were the smarter team that day fair and square. But to say that Cleveland is without a doubt better than Indy is bogus, they never faced you. If you want to base it all on bogus claims like Cleveland finishing higher than them at an individual tournament, then ill base all mine on a bogus claim too. Indy beat Mt. Juliet by at least 50 earlier in the season, and had a closer match with Bradley than you, SO we must be better than Cleveland. See? stupid
  12. I know some of the Indy parents who got there late asked the Bradley coaches what the final score was, and they were not shy as to telling them who the real number 2 team there was. Regardless of what the duals say and what the rankings say. I know that the Independence Eagles of Thompsons Station, TN are the number 2 wrestling team in the state of Tennessee. And this coming from the coaches of the number 1 team.
  13. Agreed, Cleveland faced Mt. Juliet in the semis? Thats crazy to me. We lost to Bradley, congrats to them, I thought we did very well. But we lost some very key match-ups and didnt get some bonus points where we needed them very badly. I understand we lost to Clarksville, that's a different story for a different day. MANY things couldve gone differently. But yes I still think that the destruction of Soddy confirms their spot in the top three or four in the state.
  14. Ive said this before and I'll say it again, Murfreesboro. Put it at the Floyd Stadium at MTSU. I think that would be the best spot for it, right in the middle of the state. Not in Chattanooga, down the road from all the top schools in the state.
  15. I don't know his name but he wrestled at Ravenwood last year, he beat Cox by one when Indy faced them at home.
  16. They should sit down and really seed the tournament. Head to Head, Strength of schedule? Where do they have to be? Not just seed the number 1 and blind draw the rest. I think that more than one team got screwed.
  17. Easy Bayou, its just a simple "what if" with one week left I think we all are running different scenarios. Personally I agree with prt, I think Indy matches up well with both Cleveland and Bradley, the key is being strong where the other team is weak. They couldn't do that with Clarksville or Blackman cause they're strong all the way around. But then Hendersonville turns around and waxes Clarksville and Indy waxes Hendersonville. Indy is strong where Bradley is weak, thats the fact. We'll just have to wait and see next Saturday though. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  18. I never said this is my work, I said that I've wrestled for a long time and this is how I feel about the sport. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="
  19. Independence beat Hendersonville 60-15 at the Slamfest.
  20. Just a little bit of preaching. I've wrestled for a long time now and been around it my entire life and this is what I think of wrestlers and the sport in general. WRESTLERS are the strongest fastest and smartest athletes in the world. But that's not what makes them unique. They are the MOST dedicated people in the world. They sacrifice their lives to a sport of fighting. Where practice is 3 hours of lifting and throwing and conditioning. 3 hours of a literal street brawl. They give up there social lives. They cant party and get drunk because making weight on Saturday won't allow it. They cant go smoke after school cause they worked too hard to get into shape. They have no team out on the mat with them to help get past an opponent. They stand on a mat with all eyes on them, alone, no one to fall back on when they make a mistake, no safety to make the tackle, and no goaly to make a diving save. They are the leanest meanest and strongest in the world. Ladies want them, men want to be just like them. So this is a tribute to all those who sacrifice everything, their free time, their food, and most importantly their life. Why would someone work so hard, til they are puking in practice, sweating in their 3 layers and a sauna suit or skipping that badass party? Or why would they induce the blood sweat and tears? Or the early morning runs, or mid day workouts or the extra run after practice to lose that last pound to make weight. The road in wrestling always ends in tears. The man that takes second cries cause his dreams are over, and the man that wins it all cries more than anybody because finaly everything that they have afore mentened is finally worth while. Wrestlers will wrestle through anything because they are friggin' wrestlers. And greatness walks right with the word wrestler. I salute all who commit there life to something greater, something bigger than themselves. Wrestlers dont wrestle cause they like it, you would be crazy to like to beat yourself up on a daily basis, and get beaten up by teammates and opponents just as much. Yet there are the few who love it, they do it cause they were born to. These select people I applaude. There is no future in wrestling, no pro league, no million dollar contract. Just a smelly practice room and a dream to be great.Wrestling is not a sport, its a way of life.
  21. Midway through the season, Indy was obviously not at 100%. No excuses for the loss, Ryan wrestled a heck of a match. But I think it would have been alot more interesting if the Independence team had no injuries.
  22. JV 130, bout 154 and 155, is he that good he gets to wrestle back to back? /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  23. Are the JV brackets almost finished?
  24.
