  1. Is Sisco hurt, or will he be able to play? I heard he had a hamstring injury is that correct?
  2. I will definitely agree with you that Alumbaugh was not aggressive on the bases, but if you had seen this year you would have realized that Brown's coaching was too aggressive at times. They were stealing all the time, and sometimes it worked, but against better competition it got them in trouble quite often. Example A, the first Overton game that they lost in the district tourney. He had a kid steal when we were down by one run, the kid got picked, and they totally lost all momentum. And there are many other examples of that. A happy medium between the two coaches would have been nice, but I would rather give myself a chance to get a hit instead of having an out on the base-paths. Again, if you had been around the program this year you would probably not have the same opinion.
  3. Here's a record for ya: Franklin Rebels: Robertson-1 Bein-1 Sistrunk-2 Patton-1 Falletta-1 Total: 6 Last year's total from Corban Joseph: 16 hmm.....
  4. I don't think you are giving enough credit to Alumbaugh. He added organization and structure to a team that hadn't known the meaning of hard work before he came to Franklin. And yes, Franklin made it to state three out of four years when Brown came, but it's mostly because they had great players who went on to play in college. I don't know the exact count, but it has to be around 20 players that went on to play in college. Whenever a team has that many quality players in a short span of time, they are bound to have success with a little bit of organization and structure. If you had been at Franklin this year you might have a different opinion.
  5. I definitely agree, Moore should make the all-district team, but in my opinion to win MVP you have to take into consideration other things than just stats.
  6. When is the all-district team announced?
  7. From what I've seen a few have to be Little and Young from Franklin, Betts, Patterson, and the SS from Overton, Kemp from Centennial, Shelton from Brentwood Probably Betts over Moore, I think they have to take into account the character of an individual for an MVP, not someone who behaves like Moore
  8. Maybe it would not have made a bit of difference, and I'll definitely hand it to Overton they can hit a fastball, Franklin may have played differently if they hadn't known that they had to win a double header to advance. Who knows, and I'm not trying to make any excuses here, but maybe Franklin would have played differently if it had been just one game at a time. I think most people thought Overton didn't have any pitching left (which they really didn't, Franklin would have hit that pitcher hard most days out of the week, but I'll hand it to him he did a great job) so some may have been looking ahead to Indy already, especially since it was the same day. Again, I might be wrong, but you never know what could have happened. On another note, congrats to Indy and Overton, neither will have a problem getting past district 12 teams. Good luck in your sectionals and represent District 11 well!
  9. Overton threw Harton last night, he couldn't throw strikes and they had to take him out early. I don't think Overton has anybody left to pitch tonight. Last night was most definitely not a fluke, Franklin simply out-played, and more importantly out-pitched Overton. There's a fine line between being confident and then being arrogant, annoying, and just plain stupid. You have exceedingly crossed that line. Should be a good couple of games tonight no matter who wins.
  10. Seems like there wasn't much more rain after your first post brookspw, was the field already too wet anyway?
  11. With rain throughout the state, would TSSAA let district play end the 10th, since that would not hinder any region play, since that starts the 11th?
  12. Finally, an intelligent post from Indyeagle. There would be no reason that the tourney would have to be done by Wednesday when the next round isn't until May 11th. The 10th is right.
  13. Holy crap you are an idiot. I'm not going to predict anything on here because I really think the championship could go to anyone right now. I don't think that Overton will win it because they don't have much to play for, and they're not playing well right now, it's not that they don't have the ability, I just don't think it will happen. To me, it is probably going to come down to Indy, Franklin, and maybe Brentwood and Ravenwood. I think Franklin might have drawn a better seed by losing their last two and playing Centennial and Overton instead of Indy, Brentwood, and Ravenwood. Should be a great week of baseball.
  14. The district tournament winner is automatically the #1 seed in the region, so if Overton were to lose in the district tournament they would be the #2 seed. Essentially, it doesn't matter though because district 12 is awful every year. Will you reveal yourself after this year, assuming you are a senior???
  15. I agree he should have gone to the mound and said whatever he had to say, but the game was getting out of hand quickly at that point and his frustrations got the better of him. Like I said earlier, he was crossed up three pitches in a row, which would make any catcher upset.
  16. I totally agree with the first thing that the catcher for Franklin said, the pitcher was struggling and he needed to wake up. I don't know if he should have said the second thing, but the pitcher is a big boy, he can handle it. There's definitely no feud between the players, and I don't think its that big of a deal. Also, in his defense he was crossed up multiple times.
  17. You want to talk about team goals to win championships? That is exactly what Franklin has done the past five years, and Indy has not. After this season, it will undoubtedly be six years in a row that FHS has gone on to the postseason and Independence has not. Yes, you beat the "best team in the nation," who is actually turning out to be good, but not great, and I'm glad you did. It makes our district look better when a team that won't even advance out of it beats one of the better teams in the state. I thought we were going to go 0-6 in our last six games, and right now we're 2-1 so obviously you are wrong, yet again. And to put it in your words, the Rebels will be fighting on to the postseason, while the Eagles will fall out of the nest and die before they can even get started.
  18. Franklin came back and won after being down 6-1 in the second inning. I think they scored at least one run in every inning. Final score of 11-7, Falletta struggled early but Bein came in and did very well for four innings. Tyler Harris worked out of a no-out bases loaded jam in the sixth inning to keep the score at 7-7, then Franklin scored 4 in the bottom of the sixth and Harris came back in the seventh and shut the door. Great win for the Rebels. Sounds like it will be a tough game tomorrow, as Harton is pitching for the Bobcats.
  19. I will give credit to Rowe, when he didn't walk the Franklin batters (he had quite a bit), he held them in check for most of the game. The Rebels just didn't hit the ball very well, it happens. It was a good, exciting high school baseball game, and Indy came out on top. Who knows what would have happened if they would have played when they were originally supposed to, but since the Indy field was "too wet" I guess they had to move it. Maybe. So here's the story on the "classless" coach. After the game, the Franklin coaches and Independence coaches shook hands near home plate while Coach Moore was with the Indy players going through the line with the Franklin players. So, Moore and Franklin Coach Brown didn't shake hands, no big deal because they just weren't in the same area, and Franklin started to go back to the dugout. Moore came over to the Franklin dugout and asked why Brown didn't shake hands with him, and Brown said it was because Moore was with his players, so he shook hands with the assistant coaches. Then Moore said to the Franklin players who were standing there, "Look how much class your coach has boys," or something very similar to that. Sounds to me like it was Indy Coach Moore who didn't show very much class. I don't care what happens, a coach should NEVER say anything bad about a team's coach right in front of the whole team.
  20. Indyeagle09, First of all I'm beginning to doubt that you are actually from Independence, because I think most people at Indy realize that you guys are not performing up to par right now, and have some work to do. When you think of something to say next time, just keep your mouth shut, you are an embarrassment to the Indy baseball team, if you are actually from Indy. Every single thing you have said about Indy and other teams in the district have been dead wrong (you can "bank on" that), let the play on the field do the talking. If you don't know what that means, it means WIN, something Indy has not done all that much this year in district 11AAA. Congrats on your "solid victory" over Hillwood yesterday though haha.
  21. I think if there is a tie at the end of the regular season, there is no automatic district champion. Don't quote me on that, but I believe that is correct, and then there would be two teams advancing from the district tournament.
  22. When are you going to stop talking trash about Franklin and start realizing that Indy was demolished last game against the Rebels, 9-2 and it was almost never in question, and that Indy has never done anything in the district? We'll see what happens this week, I'm not going to say that Franklin will kill all their opponents, because it won't happen. All four games this week for Franklin are going to be tough, hard fought games, and I don't expect anything less.
  23. Should be a good matchup between Brentwood and Franklin today and Monday. I don't think the loss of Waggoner will affect the play of the Bruins too much. What are the pitching matchups?
