  1. Ack!!! What happened from 32-14 to 32-29? Was it really that close?
  2. I'll grant that CPA had the "best" win tonight, but at this time of year it is a lot about how you match up. So it remains to be seen.
  3. Maybe. Maybe not. Three other good teams still have a say in the matter.
  4. We love Sam's Place. A great sports bar, reasonably priced and very good food. http://samssportsgrill.com/locations/sams-place-belle-meade/ The Santa Fe Chicken is my favorite.
  5. I think it rotates. Next year Middle #1 seed and West #1 seed are in the same bracket. But I'm not sure if it goes back to this year's bracket in year 3. For East seed 1 to play West seed 1, you would have to set up a lot of travel early in the playoffs. If it is just the middle seeds who alternate each year, that hardly seems right. But it is the TSSAA after all.
  6. So how does the playoff work in this division?
  7. Final CPA 28-0 I was worried about this game. Smyrna has a good team and I thought CPA may have been caught celebrating the Ensworth win a little too long (I know I did). I didn't see the game. How did the weather affect both teams?
  8. Looks like I should have watched this on Nfhs instead of livestream.
  9. I haven't seen the box score, but Ensworth had many turnovers and penalties which hurt them. The missed extra point in OT was another critical mistake. I'd say Ensworth won the line of scrimmage but did not dominate it. CPA was very competitive and much improved from 2016 and may have surprised Ensworth after losing last year 43-0. Ensworth has a strong running game and a couple excellent receivers and probably won the stats, but not by much. Very talented like usual I wouldn't say that CPA played their best game either. They didn't score from inside Ensworth's 5 Yd line on 1st down and turned it over on the six inch line (same series). I suspect it won't be a fun week at practice and that Bowers will find a way to clean up the mistakes against Webb. It should be a good game.
  10. So as a wrap, I've got to think both coaches see much room for improvement in all aspects of the game. CPA has to be pleased with their first ever win over nearby rival ranked #2 in the state. But Ingle and staff will wince watching the film with missed opportunities and assignments. Future opponents will not gift wrap the game like ENS did tonight. Also, I'm pretty sure Ricky will not sleep for the next 48 hours and will find a way to stop the TOs and penalties that EHS self inflicted. If not, it will be a long and fustrating season for the Tigers Better to get this game over with early in the season. But congrats to Martin & Co. They gutted it out and came out on top. Could be a good year for the Lions as almost everyone predicted an "L" for this week.
  11. Thanks. Kinda ugly but a gutsy performance by the Lions.
  12. Big win for CPA over #2 ranked team in TN. Ingle Martin continues to amaze and impress! I didn't think this game would be close.
  13. #11 McNeill Stout with POD with 5 yard reception in back of end zone for TD. Injured on the play but hangs on to the ball. Impressive catch.
  14. CPA upsets Ensworth 21-20 OT. First ever win against Ensworth.
  15. Comes down to extra point attempt by CPA
  16. Still don't understand why the TE for CPA is under utilized. Has hight, hands and speed. Oh well. I guess that's why I'm not coach.
  17. Ingle Martin plays for OT with 4th and 10 with seconds to go. Odd play call. Dive play up middle.
  18. CPA. 3 shots downfield. All Incomplete
