  1. Duke shot pretty much their season % in the first meeting but Marshall played WAY over his head in the last meeting. UNC better get Duke this year cause if Rivers stays it could be ugly next year. the difference in the teams is Barnes decided to come back and Kyrie went to the NBA. If Kyrie would have come back one more year the heels would be 0-2. Give K equal talent and he beats Roy 9 out of 10 times.
  2. haha. Same ole defense for the heels but the Duke shot like crap this time. Duke don't play a lick of defense either. Carolina played good. All I know is UNC can NEVER say anything about Duke flopping anymore. After four years of Handsbelow and all his flopping and those so-called charges they took the other nite, they have taken the flopping title in a landslide. Not gonna blame anything on the refs though cause with Duke shooting 20%, they aint gonna beat nobody and I would sound like a Heel fan. I'm proud of the Devils and by far the best coach in the country. Duke lost 90% of it's offense from the year before and K still had them right at the top. Carolina was supposed to go undefeated and they only finished 1 game ahead of the Devils and UNC only had to play FSU once. Duke had to play them twice. Funny how that works out when the ACC commish is UNC graduate. Hmmm. I think UNC will get to see the Devils again. UNC has more talent but Duke owns the ACC tournament winning 10 out of the last 13 titles.
  3. Thanks for the updates...keep them coming.
  4. You might be in the danger zone there....I had soup beans for lunch! You could get ur hair parted.
  5. Nicest thing ever said about Hampton!
  6. Hated.. yes. Petted...I don't see it. A lot of people have very vivid imaginations. Every time Duke gets a call they think the refs are giving Duke calls without stopping to think if it was the right call. Duke draws a lot of fouls because of several things. 1) they are usually ahead at the end of the game which causes the other team to foul and skew the stats. 2) They actually go inside quite a bit this year but still shoot 3's off of that. 3) they drive the ball at the hole very hard before they kick for 3's which causes the other team to foul. 4) they have Rivers who is hard for teams to keep in front of them and they have to foul. 5) Duke plays smarter than most teams and usually don't get caught with all the silly fouls like some teams do. Every person sees the game different because of who they are rooting for. Most of the time I feel like UNC gets all the calls but a lot of that is because I don't like them and that is how I see it. Just like the Cloudland/Hampton matchup, both fanbases see the game different. The game at Hampton vs Cloudland, I thought the officiating actually went more Cloudland's way overall? There was ONE call on a charge that was the wrong call but after that I thought the calls went more for Cloudland overall and of all the calls that could have went either way I thought Cloudland got 75% of those. I was surprised to see the Cloudand fans complaining about the calls after the game. Did one call go against them..yes. Did all of them go against them..NO. It is just how you see any game. I think all of the fans complaining about Duke getting all of the calls mainly because they are jealous starts to snowball and other fans start using their imagination more too. If people around you continue to tell you that they are seeing ghosts, you are more likely to start looking yourself and eventually you will think you see them too. There is actually a study out that says UNC is the most favored team in college basketball by the refs and not Duke, but I'm not even sure about that?
  7. I couldn't really disagree with you. I think it is very hard to pick this year because both teams finished with the same record in conference. I thought it was McClellan all year but after more consideration and splitting hairs, I would go with McClain. My reasoning is that I think Cloudland would still be a decent team without Dylan. Hampton on the other hand would never get the ball past halfcourt against Cloudland without McClain and his ballhandling. I'm not saying he is a better player but just that he was more important to his own team than anybody else in the league. Hampton would have a zero percent chance to beat Cloudland without McClain in the lineup. Cloudland would have a tough time winning without Dylan but I think they would still hang with Hampton and could win if things went right for them. JMO
  8. You could have also used the name "tarheelkiller" and that would have also been correct!!
  9. With all the talk about the lander defense, which is always really good, I thought the dogs played great defense of their own tonite. Dogs are playing good at the right time.
  10. Well, it was actually a compliment because I think Cloudland is a much better team than UH. Crowe is good but he is the only player on that team that would start for u guys. U guys played him really well and he was in foul trouble the whole game so it actually surprised me u guys didn't wear them out. I'm not really sure how they hung in like they did? I'm also not sure why UH had Crowe guarding McClellan to open the game? That is not going to work for them.
  11. I actually agree with you king! That wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. You did hurt my feelings when u called me a troll a couple of days ago but I think I am over it now. It did cut me pretty deep though. You said that nothing I said was true and now since I have agreed with you, you will have to take that back and I will gladly accept your apology. Anyway, this should be a really good game to watch even though it looks like it won't mean anything as far as seeding is concerned. Cosby looks like the best team down in the other region and they to Elizabethton at Christmas time by 25. I see a Distict 1 rematch. Unaka is actually the team, I wouldn't want to play. They can get hot in a hurry from the 3 point line. I'm actually surprised Cloudland had as much problem with UH as they did.
  12. Sheew, thank goodness you walked away this time! I was getting really scared and could hardly type a reply. What did I say that was not 100% correct? All the Cloudlandnites did cry for no reason. Tell me what I said in my post that was not true and thanks again for not beating me up.
  13. I can answer that....NO. Somtimes a persons imagination gets to running a little wild and with everyone including the head coach screaming bloody murder it is easy to drink the same kool aid and start believing things yourself that are not true. If someone you are around keeps swearing they are seeing ghosts and you keep hearing about it, you would start paying more attention to every little bump and every little noise and then when the shadows move a little, you think you see a ghost too. For every call Cloudland thinks they got the raw deal on, there are the same amount or more that Hampton got the raw deal on too. The officials missed some both ways but that is just the way it goes.
  14. Hello! I'm standing right here. How did I get involved? I have been very nice this year. Good game last nite and both teams played hard. I was sure the Cloudlandnites would have to cry like a bunch 5th grade girls at Justin Bieber concert. There must be a bunch of Tarheel fans(no offense UKOIT)up there. They Tarheels have never lost a game on their own, it always has to be somebody else's fault. Wah, Wah, Wah. Regardless of what any of you think, Cloudland does hold on every single play. If the refs don't do their job and just let them play that way Cloudland usually wins. Same thing with Science Hill. There is nothing wrong with that and I actually like it. You do what you can get by with and you have every right to do it. Just don't get mad when the refs call what they are supposed to. Some refs do their job by calling the fouls and some refs just earn a check. When they show up just to earn a check, Cloudland usually wins. I will admit there were some calls that went against Cloudland and the one where Brandon got his T was probably the wrong call. The one where Murray run over the guy at midcourt and all the Cloudlandnites thought it was a charge, the right call was made. You have to give a person room to come down once he is in the air. You cannot run underneath him and then fall once he has left the floor. That is what happened and I know it looked like a charge to the basketball uneducated Cloudlandnites, but the right call was made. Ned should have been mad that the officials let #23 for Cloudland put his head down and run towards the goal and Hampton would just stand there with their hands up and the officals kept bailing him out and GIVING him the call. It was getting comical and it almost cost Hampton the game. Cloudland fans must have missed that part and that is why there is always 2 sides to watching the officials. The differece in this game and the one at Cloudland is not the officials. Hampton was scared to death up at Cloudland and couldn't do anything right. Even when Cloudland was not putting pressure on Hampton, Hampton made all kinds of unforced errors and threw the ball out of the gym. McClellan had a really good game at Cloudland and Potter played too. That made a big difference. I've never heard why Potter didn't play last nite? Anybody know? Having the point production Cloudland had from them up there and then not getting hardly any at Hampton was huge. I did think 23 and 5 both played pretty well for Cloudland last nite for being guys I had not expected much out of because I had not seen them play. #10 Hill shot really well too. Having those guys play a lot and have to do a lot will only help Cloudland when Potter plays and McClellan has a better game, which I'm sure is coming.
  15. WOW, none of the Greene County schools have ever had anyone quit? That is an interesting stat I had not heard before. Thanks for bringing that to our attention.
  16. Dogs were not cohesive at all. Just could not get the ball where they needed it to go. Landers did play good defense but a LOT of the turnovers were unforced. Hampton finally figured out toward the end that McClain is a one man pressbreaker and that is what worked. The old saying that you can't dribble through the press does not apply to him most of the time. Hampton got in trouble every time he passed the ball. If they would have just told him to find a way to get it up the floor from the get go, I think it would have been a different game. Dogs have a ways to go. Big Johnny did not play well at all and Trussler did not have his best game either. I don't think Cloudland can guard Hampton's bigs when they get it in the right place but Cloudland makes it really hard to get it there. I really think the teams are pretty close to even talent wise but Cloudland sure played a lot better. I thought coming into the year Cloudland had a pretty sizeable talent advantage but I really don't think it is the case now. Just my opinion.
  17. should be a good a good game Dogs better be ready! The Bye week can help you sometimes and sometimes it can hurt you.
  18. The officiating in Greene Co. has always been known to be somewhat suspect when another team from another county comes around. I have seen some of the worst called basketball games I have ever seen in my life down there. Everyone from every team has seen it. It's just the way it is and has been for many years. It actually is used for motivation when getting an outsider team ready. Teams don't take Greene county teams lightly when they play in Greene Co. because the coaches and players know they are probably behind as soon as they get off the bus.
  19. Nathanael Hughes from Hampton is going to King College.
  20. I have heard there may something going on here after all. Hale and Jaylen Allen could be a package deal somewhere. Jaylen wants to play the guard position which is what he will play in college.
  21. High school coaches are not allowed to coach teams in AAU events. I believe the same applies to middle school coaches.
  22. There is really not a lot that goes into playing some of the local events in your area. You just need players, uniforms and some money to pay for the tourneys. The main thing is finding the players. To be competitive, you will need players that are really good for their age or grade. The bad thing is, looking for players for a 14u team, the good players have probably been picked over. You will need players that are really difference makers. If you are planning on playing in the big events, you will need a LOT of money because they are expensive and there are a lot of travel expenses. It would help if you could be more specific on what kind of team you are going to try and create?
  23. Rumor is not true from what I have been told.....
  24. I will try to find out in the morning...
