  1. I think the original poster meant to ask does Dis 14 have the most parity. Which it might but it certainly is not the best district in A. The winningest program in A is Clarkrange which also has the most state titles with seven. Since Jackson County has moved to A they have made quite an impact and they have four AA and one A title. Both play in the same district which is, in fact, the strongest in the state in Class A. I would hate to see an all star team from Dis 7 play any other in the state as it would not be pretty. Clarkange beat Wilson Central in summer ball this year and we all know about that AAA program don't we. Back to back AAA state champs I believe. Of course anything can happen and it's a long season so we'll all just have to wait and see.
  2. Your perspective is skewed. These girls want to play in a program which will hopefully lead to a college scholarship so that they can actually have a chance to go to college and be a doctor, lawyer, etc. No Class A girls basketball player entertains any hope of being a Lady Vol or playing professionally. They just need the money to go to college and a scholarship may be the only way to make that happen. Playing for a high profile program can make that happen as they will be more apt to be seen. How many scouts do you think would travel to Monterey to see Molly play? None. How many do you think will see her in a state tourney? Dozens. None of your comments hold water. I have a daughter in college now. Thank God she has it all paid for thru scholarships.
  3. Sorry, have seen LL play since she started as an 8th grader at RBS and while she is very, very good Kayla C is the best individual player in the state. Far above anyone else. In all honesty, she could start and be a star on most boys teams. BTW, I don't think anyone of them will be voted "MRS" Basketball. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  4. Yes, Clarkrange has a 3 peat and a re-peat and two singles. Care to try again?
  5. Tradition??? Clarkrange has won 7 state championships and has been in the state tourney 18 times. If it's tradition that wins games then CR wins hands down. Of course it's not. It's whoever scores the most points.
  6. This girl would be the dominant go-to player on ANY team she played for. She is that good. CR spent 1/2 the game doubling her and she still shot an outstanding average and proved that no even two quality defenders could stop her. She's head and shoulders above anyone I've seen and played team ball the entire game. She will be a true asset to any college lucky enough to sign her.
  7. It will depend on which CR team shows up. CR blew out Stone Memorial twice this year and Stone is an outstanding AA team. Of their four losses, two were to CR. CR also had a five point lead against Jackson County with less than a minute to go and ended up losing by one. In the district c'ship they had an eight point lead with 29 seconds to go and ended up losing by two. Both games went to OT. CR has a problem closing teams out. Three years ago in the semi final at state they had a nine point lead with 42 seconds to go and lost. I am and have always been a diehard Lady Buffalo fan but if they have an achilles heel it is closing out games. Bradford looked very good to me yesterday. They are big girls and can run the floor. If CR brings their A game it won't be close but if they bring their B game which they can do it will be very close.
  8. Undoubtably the best player I have seen. She certainly plays bigger than 5'9". I was sure she was at least 6'. Tremendous player at any size.
  9. Final Score: CR 57, CSAS 31. Coach Rogers put the subs in with six minutes to go in the 4th and a 34 point lead. The Lady Buffs looked very sharp tonight.
  10. Lamar Rogers has taken his team to the state tourney 17 times in the last 30 or so years. Basically every other year he has played in the state and has won 7 state championships. HOWEVER, the lady buffs did not play well against Westmoreland even though they won by 16 and they did not play well against JC in the finals. I haven't seen them put a good game together since they blew out Stone Memorial (which they did twice this year). So, I don't know what CR team will show up in C'nooga. Of course the last time they lost the district and region and went to C'nooga for a substate game they won the state championship. For some reason this years team gels too infrequently and tends to play erractic here lately. I guess we will see but I know the coach will be ready :^)
  11. Actually it's not my first post here. I had to re-register. I didn't make any accusations just honest comment that childish posts (of course you're probably in high school so it's understandable) only serve to belittle whatever team you support. There have been several silly comments on BOTH sides regarding the district game which is over by the way. I was commenting that CR did not play well offensively and looked lethargic and honestly, JC has played much better as well. Against Upperman in the Christmas Tourney they were extremely impressive. This game was not great to watch but the defense on both sides was very good.
  12. Actually more points won the game :^) I have seen both teams play numerous times and will say that neither played their best game, especially CR. They were OK on defense but on offense they were much slower than they normally are. For a team that is known for the 3 ball, they only attempted 2 and hit 1. One three pointer in a game for CR is WAY below the norm. The CR girls just didn't seem fired up. They would close the game to six points and then falter. They did look fatigued for some reason. Reed spent alot of time on the bench ??? All in all, JC played better and deserved to win. They are a fine team. CR needs to 1. rest and 2. refocus. They are also a fine team. BTW, there aren't any players from either team posting "smack" here. Only kids and adults acting like kids. The girls on both of these teams are outstanding young people. There's not a problem case on either team. Additionally, they all like each other and hang out together at other games in which neither is participating. They are all tough competitors but good girls as well so why make immature comments? Be happy if you won but don't gloat.
