It sucks to see some kids walking around as "state champions" when they were handily defeated during a tournament or more by wrestlers from another class.

We all We all know how they did this year. My point was to refute your ridiculous statement... "Williamson has by far overtaken the Boro is the midstate's top area of high school football in 5A/6A." You wont admit it but I know you are glad Ravenwood has been safe over there on the left side of the bracket for the last couple of seasons. It has worked out for them.... Checking out.......

In case you need a reminder of the last time Ravenwood played a RuCo power. This was 11-1 Ravenwood vs Blackman in the playoffs in 2013...

I'm not sure but I suspect it would have to do with the number or matches that someone feels is acceptable for a high school student to have during a season. Many are getting 50-60 matches a season already so my guess is the rule is rooted in concern for injury and unregulated competition.

I honestly think this years Blackman team is not as good as the 2013 semi-final team. During that game, Maryville was down in the first half at one point and when they really opened the playbook, things got real interesting. From the best that I could tell, Maryville had a separate playbook for each quarter. Not sure about the exact specifics, but for example, in the first quarter, nothing went in the air to the tight ends. Almost everything was a handoff or screen play. But in the second, the tight ends were catching balls left and right. Didn't see that again in either the third or fourth quarters. One quarter it was almost all handoff or QB draw. Blackman had the most success running the ball right at the Rebel defense. Because of what I said above, Maryville's offense will shape shift and that will allow them to score no matter what. You cant adjust for the changing playbook. The only chance for Blackman is run it down their throat and hope that the time runs out during the short period of time if/when they have the lead.

You better check your facts. Blackman has ONE kid from Siegel on the middle school team. And that kid's family has been around our program for years. And while I am in defense mode, Blackman had two starters out in the finals match vs Spring Station. They gave them 18 points from the get go. Who knows what may have happened if they had been at full strength. As for oldblazedad worrying about the schedule strength, we are wrestling everyone we can. I think the 2013 team was better than this one. How does Maryville compare to the 2013 team?

I do wish we could grow those kickers like they do at Siegel. They have had some great kickers in recent years. We need that recipe.

I beg to differ. When Stockstill left, Siegel fell off a cliff and hasn't been seen since.. Blackman replaces 10 on offense including a very dynamic two-year starting qb and you wouldnt hardly even notice. The only explanation is coaching.

Unless the wheels completely fall off, I expect Blackman will dominate the Stars. Everyone has studied the tape from last game. Howse will get his but, Blackman is simply the better team all around.

I'm not advocating anonymous posting, but you have to admit, if you want to complain about something, this is a good place to do it..... AND - - I have seen cases when parents went to complain in person to coaches or faculty, they were subjugated and their kids suffered consequences for their parents' actions. It happens more than anyone likes to admit. Just saying.

I think Rutherford County puts a limit on coaches pay - - even from boosters. Makes it tough for us to attract real big names from outside of our area. I heard Hoover and Clay Chalk coaches are making $125K. I dont know that for a fact but it doesnt seem unlikely. We wont compete with that.

Blackman gets it done again. This one could be close though if its wet. Its already going to be a cool night but if it's wet and both teams have to rely on the run, I expect Smyrna to keep it close. If it's dry, Blackman by at least two scores.
