There will be better opportunities as this season progresses. In WC's position, I think they are trying to get the 1st team as much experience as possible early in the season. I doubt WC is building for a playoff run this year. I imagine this year is about system implementation. Let the 1st string lay the groundwork then bring in the 2nd and 3rds as the season moves along. All a guess on my part but I have no reason not to trust the coach at this point.

Neither team is at their peak but it will be a good game. This rivalry is the original Williamson County rivalry. It was here well before all of the "new" schools. I am glad Franklin is playing Brentwood early in the season. I think the Rebs win this one but the Bruins may have the better season. Hoping for a dry and safe game tonight. And better refs. Bless their hearts, last year they had trouble counting the number of players on the field. A penalty was called for too many players on the field only to be reversed after a recount. I have never seen that one before.

I see your point about getting playing time for the 2nd and 3rd string players. Typically, I would agree with that. For this situation, I think the coach is working on his 1st stringers getting playing time. He is starting from ground zero.

Who was the AD in Rankin's era? I was at a school meeting (not an meeting for athletes) for parents of Juniors last night and the NCAA clearing house was on the agenda. This was presented by a school advisor not in the athletic department.

LOD, I read some of the coach's comments on the first two games. In his comments, he took no responsibility for the high occurrence of penalties. I hope it was just a case of poor reading comprehension on my part.
