MKD - Probably one of the best posts I have read on coach t in a long time. My son plays baseball. I have 2 years left to enjoy playing catch and talking about life through baseball. Thanks for reminding me to enjoy every second!! I admit sometimes your posts have fired me up but this is an example of how behind the passionate fan is a parent that loves thier child and the "sport" is a vehicle to bond while developing memories and young men and women. This is one of the best posts I have read on here in a long time. Thank you for sharing this yoda. Everything you describe could not be more true. I have 2 years left and hope to enjoy every minute of the journey. I think I have learned as much from my son in this process as he has me. The best conversations we have is playing catch. Has to be one of the most exciting high school games I have attended. Back and forth and lot's of dramatic moments. Everyone got thier $5 worth tonight for sure!! Time to get a little sleep and lace em back up for tomorrow.

Huge win for Siegel. Congrats. Riverdale beat Lavergne tonight 10 - 3. Riverdale has to sweep now to win. Should be a fun series to watch. It would really be exciting to play the last game to hoist the trophy!!!

Why does Siegel - Blackman resume their game and Riverdale - LaVergne start from scratch?

Riverdale won 2 tonight. Smyrna beat Oakland. Looks like it might come down to Riverdale and Siegel. That will make for a GREAT final series. What happened to Arning? He is a fantastic kid. I hope it is nothing series.

I read where the coaches may vote to go away from the 3 game district series next season. I hope they stay with this format, really makes teams develop pitching and depth to win in this district. I had heard this. I think this would be a HUGE mistake. Not only does it develop pitching but it also makes teams use strategy and provides a real series flavor, much like the 3 game college format, to district. It creates a lot of buzz and excitement in 7AAA. That is just my opinion and I realize that does not mean much but as a fan I would say moving away from the 3 game series would be a step backward for the district.

Blackman won 7 to 6 in 8 innings. Looks like Siegel is running away. Big series next week with Blackman.

Siegel 4 - Smyrna 0 Riverdale 5 - Blackman 0 Anyone have an Oakland Lavergne score?

I have said all along that Smyrna is a good team. I thought they would be more compeitive during the Blackman series. It will be a big test against Siegel next week. Being 1 - 5 Smyrna will have to sweep the rest of the way out to be any where in the mix at the end of the season. Oakland and Smyrna have pretty big holes to climb out of. Still lot's of baseball to play but things are taking shape.

Riverdale won 9 - 3 last night over Oakland. Too early to make a prediction. Lot's of baseball to be played still. Going to be a tight and interesting race.

Smyrna is a good team and I believe everyone is aware of that now so I am not sure if they will surprise anyone. That is going to be a great series. It will be an interesting week. Good to see so much riding on the 2nd week of district play.

Do you mean team rankings? I was not aware that players were ranked. If so, who does it and where is it posted? That seems like a tough thing to do as I am sure that most people have partial opinions to players that are on the team they support.

What did we learn so far? Does 10-5/11-4 win it? We learned that this is going to be a really tough district to play in. I can't see anyone going undefeated. 10 - 5 is a real possibility but 11- 4 is most likely going to win. I would be surprised if anyone has a better record than that. Looks like everyone can hit pretty well. Pitching depth and defense will be the key to winning it this year. Siegel sweeping Oakland was a surprise. Even though that puts them in a great position to start off 3-0 I don't see any clear favorite yet for the trophy and more important the automatic bid to region. Back at it next week after a week of non district opponents. Going to be a fun season to watch.

Good matchup. Tullahoma is talented. Riverdale looked good for the first time out. Total runs scored were Riverdale 16 and Tullahoma 6.

Great day to get the pre-season kicked off. I have heard that several of the teams in the district did well against thier pre-season foes. Any thoughts on the first day?

The players hit the field next week. FINALLY!! Looks like the weather is going to turn the corner for the first week of practice and scrimmages. Any new updates on how the teams are stacking up?

Rachel Albritton is the pitcher from Riverdale. She is very impressive and works hard.
