  1. ESPN Fab 50 thru April 8th. Tennessee: 1. Christian Brothers (5-0-0), 2. Brentwood (5-0-0), 3. CAK (2-0-1), 4. Farragut (4-0-2), 5. Knoxville Catholic (10-0-2), 6. Dobyns-Bennett (6-0-2), 7. Houston (6-0-2).
  2. If I remember correctly Collierville is in the Bearden Tournament this week so we should learn a little more about them.
  3. That is true but Dobyns-Bennett did not suffer a loss (1 tie) and Knox Catholic went undefeated to win the tournament. They did not face each other.
  4. With the Bearden tournament this week, I believe we will learn a lot more about where teams are at so far this season.
  5. Great news for Schoeny, his family, friends and fans!
  6. McCallie should be tested at the Bearden Tournament with Bearden, Science Hill, and Maryville all on their schedule. While Notre Dame has Oak Ridge, Hardin Valley, and Science Hill.
  7. Oak Ridge 0 Gallatin 1 Hardin Valley 2 Hendersonville 4

  9. Who is going to rock the DOD this year? Knox Catholic is already living very large in district 4 with bunches of goals scored and lots of shutouts.

The season is still early but Blackman is the only team that seems on track to me. Most of the other teams have already taken losses or ties to historically weaker districts and Blackman beat a Soddy-Daisy team that is a perennial power. Smyrna may be there as well as they already beat one of my top picks for district 10 - Dickson County. Either Riverdale and Lavergne are missing their typical firepower or they have not meshed yet.
  11. I like Henry County and Dickson County to be the teams to watch out of this district this year...but West Creek may be the cream of the crop. They have developed a potent offense so let's see if that continues.
  12. Cheatham County is putting up lots of goals against their opponents this season. Are they the results of some gifted finishers on the squad?
  13. I would not overlook White House for this district with ties and wins over competitive AAA opponents already this year.
  14. ESPN has picked all the strength for soccer in Tennessee this year in the East and West with the exception of Father Ryan. 5 teams in the East and 2 in the West. I have not seen Science Hill but it looks like they took it to Hendersonville recently with a 6-2 win. Tennessee: 1. Christian Brothers (1-0-0), 2. Science Hill (4-0-0), 3. CAK (0-0-0), 4. McCallie School (3-1-0), 5. Houston (4-0-0), 6. Father Ryan (2-0-0), 7. Farragut (0-0-1) Dobyns-Bennett (4-0-2).
  15. This was a really fun game to watch. Danny Martinez took advantage of 3 defensive miscues. He is lightning quick and creative. Two of his own goals and an assist. Within the first few minutes of the game Overton was up 2-0 and I think Hendersonville looked a little panicked. I still felt like Hendersonville controlled posession but Overton was stong on all thirds of the field and never gave Hendersonville too many good looks at the goal. I had not seen Overton this year they were a lot bigger and faster than I expected. The Overton goalie was also stellar that night and handled everything that came his way very comfortably. The defense made it difficult for Hendersonville to get clean shots. Although there was no scoring in the second half you never got much of a sense that Hendersonville was going to get back into the game. Perhaps if they had scored a goal early in the second it could have made a difference but without something to build a little momentum on they looked a bit deflated. Great game and it will be interesting to see how far Overton can take their game at the state level.
  16. Dobyns Bennett Farragut Ooltewah Blackman Hendersonville Brentwood Jackson Northside Houston
  17. HHS vs Dickson County - 7:00pm, Tuesday, May 17th at the Field of Dreams in Hendersonville Clarksville vs Wilson Central - 7:00pm, Tuesday, May 17th at Clarksville High School
  18. HHS wins over Wilson Central 4-2 This was a great game to watch as Wilson Central is a strong side. I would expect that they have a chance to beat Clarksville and if Hendersonville wins over Dickson the two teams can meet for the third time this season. There was a lot of drama in the game as HHS right off the bat gets a PK on a foul in the box. Keeper stops the PK but the kicker buries the rebound. Then they get another goal a few minutes later. After that it is very back and forth. Hendersonville controlled alot of the posession but WC was stout on defence and had some great counters. No score for the remainder of the half. As the second half kicked off it was more of the same, two teams playing a very agressive brand of soccer. With the half winding down H'vill scored another goal from a ridiculous angle that went back post upper 90. Minutes later they score another with an assist into the middle. At 4-0 HHS was in the driver seat but minutes later Wilson Central scored on a beautiful open look with only the goalie in front of the player. The elation from the Wilson Central side clearly showed and it gave them a great lift. A minute later that lifted play resulted in another goal off a free kick that was headed into the goal. Wilson Central continued to pick up their play as HHS played a little chase the ball to eat up clock and that is exactly what happened...time expired. Great job by both teams! HHS vs Dickson County and Clarksville plays Wilson Central next.
  19. Congrats Knox Catholic for moving into a killer district and grabbing the brass ring. Somehow when it all came down you thought these two teams had a chance. A little further to state...good luck!
  20. They may be considered favorites but there are several teams that stand as good a chance as any to make it through. Houston and White Station out of West Tennessee are very strong. Ravenwood won't get blitzed by Brentwood again, and Wilson Central has come on strong knocking a very good Beech team out of the tourney. Science Hill, Riverdale and Blackman round out other teams I would expect to have a shot.
  21. I would not overlook the two teams moving out of the DOD in Farragut and Knox Catholic. They have both improved as the season has moved forward not unlike Hendersonville did last year.
  22. Except the Bearden faithful!
  23. Thanks for the re-cap Alcoadad. I would love to have been there for the game.
  24. That result just proves why they call it the District of Death. You have to play top notch soccer every game.
  25. Hendersonville beats Station Camp 2-0 Wilson Central beats Beech 3-2 HHS meets Wilson Central at 7pm Thursday, May 12th on the Field of Dreams.
