I was surprised we beat McCallie so easily. After we sqeaked out an OT win over Baylor I expected more in this game. Go Spartans!

Unfortunatley Webb is not in it this year....but I follow D2 AA boys and girls soccer with a passion. I wish I could come to Chattanooga for the semifinals but will not be able to make it. Regardless of who is in the finals I will be there! At this time of the year, regardless of records, anything can happen. But when predicting it is almost impossible to pick against Baylor. Father Ryan has played great as of late and I think will keep this one close. JP 11 is playing great soccer and has come on like game busters. Briarcrest likewise has had a great season but had to win a hard fought game to get past GPS. Like I said anything can happen once you get to state....but here are my predictions....and good luck to all. Baylor 3 Father Ryan 1 JP 11 2 Briarcrest 1

Nah....I read all the posts. I think the one that started it sounded like they were world beaters. I read the 2 posts that you are talking about and then looked at Silverdale's schedule. I think the posters know Chattanooga teams better than us and from their schedule it was very soft but they are a pretty new team. I just think the posters were offering insight into what they know and maybe made a helpful suggestion in scheduling a harder schedule in regards to being ready for postseason.

I am sure both teams will be "up" for this game. When it is "the" game for you it is not hard to get your players ready. Webb traveled to Chattanooga twice this year...first to face GPS and last to face Baylor. While GPS is a physical team....they play clean and hard. Baylor is just a great tactical team. Skilled in every position and just a very sound team. You know they are going to play hard and clean everytime you play them. You just can't pick against Baylor in this game but you know that GPS will play there best game yet....this game will bring it out in both. Baylor 3 GPS 1

That was certainly a big mistake. Can't imagine how at big game against Bearden that lining the fields was overlooked. I'll bet it doesn't happen again....parents sound like they will be on top of that.

I think their game with GPS and the result decide homefield advantage.

I wanted to hold off on this until I saw the Webb vs Baylor game myself. Baylor is the most complete soccer team I have seen in years. It was 4-0 at halftime and the ending score of 5-0 could have been much worse. I appreciate Baylor not running up the score. Congratulations to their keeper and team on the ESPN honor.

I know that Baylor really took it to Bearden 3-0 in an earlier Chattanooga meeting. But I think Bearden will have their way and win against Notre Dame in Chattanooga later this week. Prediction is Bearden 4 Notre Dame 2. In a side note....Knox Webb travels to Baylor Thursday....It may not be a pretty game for Webb...but Go Spartans!

wow i hate it when teams do that. it is like knowing you can't win and just loading up the back on defense knowing that is the only way to keep them from scoring. not a great way to see soccer played....but if a 0-0 tie is what you are after i guess it worked.

i know alot of hard work goes into putting this together. i just wanted to thank you for doing an exceptional job and giving us all something to talk about. don't know of anyone that could do a better job. i think sometimes we forget it when we give you a hard time about who should be where. glad you are thick skinned because the soccer boards would not be near as much fun without your rankings. /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />

i am sure that the "spirituals" are in fine form since that so far may be the draw to see mcCallie play. Spirtuals 3-0....mccallie 1-2 i believe.

You mean Baylor totally rips Bearden and Bearden is #2? Obviously Baylor is #1 but I thought someone else would be #2.....anyone else?

Wow...what a joke. As a Knoxville person where in the world are you coming from. Baylor does begin the season with alot of hype as does Bearden. The only difference is the person you slammed gave a good 2-0 score. Not a silly 6-2 score. You need to get real. Baylor 1 Bearden 0

Thank you for taking no offense....as it was not intended that way. Again, your football program is 2nd to none and I am sure that BA is a great school. I guess that with having such a strong tradition and it being a private school I was surprised at the facilities. Curious since you agree about the PA system...and I heard alot of complaining and ear covering up....has this been brought up to the powers that be? Again, thanks for taking the post the way it was intended.

Ok first off I will say that BA has a great team and tradition....just want to say that first off. That being said I went to a game last year at BA for the first time ever. For a private school team with so much tradition and power....it is the worst football stadium I have seen compared to almost all of the other D2 teams. I was not expecting that at all. I know that there are other schools that do this....but to only have one side of bleachers? The PA system was totally annoying.....very loud and blaring constantly. I know the product that BA puts on the field is just great. But I was totally unimpressed with the stadium, etc. MBA was much better for sure...and before you say I am for MBA I am not. I am from Knoxville. As much as I hate to say it the two Chattanooga schools (McCallie and Baylor) have very classy stadiums and I would put Baylor as the best. With an amazing view from the stands and a great atmosphere. Sorry, I don't mean to offend. But with all of the deserved hype that surrounds BA football...I was totally underwelmed at their facilites.

I am glad you came on here to clarify that you was "poking fun" as you say. I really thought you were being very tacky and insulting. You are right it is hard to tell in a post when someone is having fun or being cynical. Glad you cleared it up....because alot of people think very highly of Big G.

What a great thing for seniors to be able to participate in an all star environment. The best of the best joined together....I only wish that other parts of the state would be able to come up with something like this. It makes sense....colleges have all star games...why not high school. Southeast Tennessee vs Northwest Ga.....it makes alot of sense. Hope someone posts the roster for this...I might try to come down for the game.

Webb was at state last year and Father Ryan and Baylor did have a rematch in the semifinals of state. Ryan won the first game and Baylor beat Father Ryan in the semifinals.

It's great to start a thread on this....but please get your facts straight before you start a discussion. Their is a different between what you said....shutting out a team 5-0 and the "real" score which was 5-2.

Big G I was just trying to point to to someone on here that Chattanooga was in east Tennessee and not the middle. It is in the southeast part of the state. Obviously I am from Webb which is a part of the d2 east district....and I just wanted to make sure that my district in d2 was represented. Yes, Baylor is a quality squad. We in Knoxville know West and Maryville have had great years and they shut them out. Baylor and McCallie should advance from the east this weekend in state....but like you said this is the year of the upset so who knows. Sorry but no. Chattanooga is east Tennessee. No middle to it...always has been eastern Tennessee always will be. As for soccer Chattanooga is in the east district....good try though.
