  1. i think its fair to say after all the debate that no matter what high school you went to or where you are from... if you are a college wrestler out of tennessee we are always happy to see you excel. having wrestled in high school, i know all the rivalries and tensions that come with high school wrestling. it is a long stressful season that makes you realize what it takes to be part of a team and that the sport itself is amazing. you give your all not only for yourself, but for you team, your coaches, and your family as well. seeing the simpsons, jordan, keller, and posssibly blackmond (sp) make a name for themselves on a national level is something we should all be proud of. it makes a name for tennessee, the region, and the southeast. that right there says it all. tennessee produces quality wrestlers that can compete at a national level. that is something we should charish and never forget. so in conclusion, we can always argue over who is going to win state, be the best wrestler, or become the coach of the year- but we can never argue the heart of the wrestlers that represent our great state of tennesse on a national level. i for one know that it doesn't matter what school you wrestled at in tennessee. if you set the standard for the years to come- you are someone to be remembered. with that being said, we should all take a moment to thank the wrestlers that have made tennessee wrestling what it is today and hope that our tradition will carry on in the manner and demenior (sp) in which it began. thanks for your time- jonathan armstrong
  2. good job guys! that was fun. I think ya'll were the only team to make the wrestling and basketball sections of the paper. whos hungry?
  3. I remember seeing all the debate over spencer going 152 a week or so before the state tournament. Does anyone know if that was his decision or if he challenged and lost (seems unlikely)? Does anyone believe this was the best decision for their team, or was this all about trying to get as many state titles for McCallie? Maybe it was a coaching call. Great match by both marable and spencer. they both have promising futures.
  4. My vote goes to the tremendous coaching we have seen from the big 4 in d2 over the last five years. it has been pretty exciting with all of the interesting moves we have seen. There are many great coaches with many diferent styles. You gotta love it.
  5. maybe jant jackson could be part of the parade of champions. That might add a little spice and recognition to tennessee wrestling
  6. looks like baylor has the best two 103 pounders in the state
  7. i wouldn't be sneakin i at the last minute if you want a good seat. it should be a packed house for this one
  8. i find it rediculous that bradley be considered #1 when they will not wrestle the other three best teams in the state. That is not really the mark of a true championship team to me
  9. kyle james is an exceptional wrestler, but it would be false to say he is better than jordan leen after jordan's numerous victories over kyle. He is by far the most technical wrestler in tennessee and his strength will only continue to grow. Jordan gets my vote
  10. Jim Morgan And Schack Van Duessen would definatly get my vote. They always seem to have a great squad of kids, and you never see their kids act out. This to me is another part of the equation that makes a great coach. In my opinion some of the coaches listed on this forum lack in this department. It is also to my knowledge that Schack won the national coach of the year a few years ago. way to go schack.
  11. where do you go to get all the results on the official website??
  12. good you know what you are talking about dragon. I bet the dedicated parents know more about the sport than you do. They are lassy people. Sorry they bring excitement and enthusiasm to the sport.
  13. I think Jordan Leen is a good choice. He is on his way to his third state championship. He has a great work ethic and is amazing to watch wrestle.
  14. Last year Shaack Van Deusen was named the best assistant coach in the nation. if his name isn't thrown in the pick, there is something wrong.
  15. Lee Connell hasn't been very impressive all year. i know he has been injured, but its about time he got over that. state is just around the corner, and I need to see something more out of him before i am convinced he is going to win state again.

    Red Bank

hey mtndewgirl.... good insight. do you do the dew?
  17. Again baller, you come out with some very resourceful information. Do you even know Mccallie's lineup.... much less Baylors? Anymore predictions?? You seem to be on top of your game.... baller.
  18. i am sorry, but 69 was cool in 8th grade. i guess you haven't moved on. McCallie has a chance to win, but they will probably forfeit too many matches to pull off the win as they have done the past few years. comments baller??
  19. Who is coming out on top this year??
  20. yeah studs like flint rudolph and hobbs sure will be hard to overcome. i know you are a baller and all but obviously you don't know anything about wrestling. Real cool name baller69.... real cool.

    best 119

maybe kyle is the best 112 in the state, but he isn't the best 119. and if he was at 112, where he "should" be wrestling, but he is "wrestling up a weight for the team" hiller would beat him anyways. he is good, really good, but he isn't the best. Sincerely, Mr. McGregor
  22. Manson is an animal. He is one of the hardest working individuals I know. The kids technique is great, and with the mat time he will get throughout the year, he is sure to be unstoppable.

    Brad Lane

Welcoming him back is good, but the way they sent him off to Baylor wasn't quite as considerate, i think.
