i would like to know more about this "blind draw" too. It seemed to be very odd that teams with very close records matched up (Oak ridge and Hendersonville for example). Also it seemed to be a very tough bracket with Cleveland, Brentwood and Knox West all in the same bracket. It would sure be interesting to see who did the "draw" and to watch. Whoever wins this game will win it all. this is the championship game. The brackets were skewed. Game could go either way depending on effort. My heart and vote is with West. If they play like they did against farragut, no one can beat them.

fields are nice. They really need PA systems however. Also the scoreboards can hardly be seen in daylight. The staff at the small concessions are inadequate. If they are to host again they really should upgrade somewhat

I think this will be a close one. If Diego is healthy and truly back to his speed I take Oak Ridge 3-2. If Diego not up to running as much then Hendersonville could win a close one... lets say reverse 3-2 Hendersonville

I think West should pull this one out. 4-1. They are playing very strong right now. Even if Jack doesn't play-- they beat Farragut, Oak Ridge and Science Hill without Jack. It almost seems to be better flow without Jack in the mix

Too bad there is way too much tolerance for language by coaches. Won't name names here, but have consistently heard bad language from some, often throughout a game. If there is ZERO tolerance then it should start with the coaches IMO. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Bearden has its struggles, so Maryville could pull this one off, but I think Bearden will win 3-2. Schoenfeld and Webster are relentless and Bearden has to try to restore some pride to the season so they will give it their all and then some. White's inexperience could give an opening for Maryville. Should be a good game.

Local news coverage certainly could be better, but at least we get box scores regularly-- it could be a lot worse. I wonder if there is an agreement on coverage between the West Shopper News and Knox News? Don't they have some sort of arrangement with printing and delivery? I know the editor of the News-Sentinel wrote a column several months ago, calling for UT-Knox to add Men's soccer to their college programs, aruguing that with soccer's local, national and international popularity it is odd that UT doesn't have men's soccer. He is a fan of the game. Certainly worth a try to write the media and ask them to cover more. I think you can write him at editor@knoxnews.com.

Oh yeah......your comment above- is whinning!!! and your comments aren't on topic, but nice to see you reveal yourself with a little playground-like taunt. but, given such, it is interesting that in your posts you seem to need to use phrases... "their whole team" "everyone" and "always" and "any play with contact".. geez... as my philosophy teacher once advised, when something is overstated, look to the weakness of the argument. *if* the topic were whiners I could add a few from several teams that IMO try to whine and work the refs. BUT since the topic is freshmen, I would say Jamie White-- I think he has stepped up quite nicely especially under a difficult situation Austin- solid play usually. Jack- with the caveat that he does seem to talk too much and look too much for the call.

Somewhat disappointing to hear that the only writer for HS soccer in Knox area didn't think it worth the effort to drive to Catholic after seeing the game wasn't at west. 15-20 min drive, and could still see some of the first half. Given that nearly everyone in the area knew this could be a really good match I am stunned that more effort wasn't made. I admire you owning up to not going but grabbing a few notes secondhand to write a quick wrap up doesn't really "cover" the game. HS soccer in this community really deserves coverage. I think it is sad that the only reporter who is covering HS soccer in this community was a no show to a very sweet game. We should ask better from all media. Soccer is important in this community. yes, there *should* be other media covering the games too IMHO-- and anyone assigned to cover soccer should love the game and be committed to actually covering it. IMHO. Very disappointing to hear that this wasn't the case.

Should be a good game. West should win if they bring their best stuff, but it will require team play. McCoy must look for the pass if he is cut off. Not go for long distance shots. Kat should drive one instead of always passing. Joey is good. It will take some unexpected moves by West to catch him off guard. I say West 3-2.
