  1. 51-26 final THS wins. Give Boone credit THS was up early and Boone came storming back. Harmon and THS offense just too much in this one. Glad to see Vikes overcome some adversity and put together a big second half after Boone had clawed their way back into it.
  2. I am a Vikings fan and have also been impressed with how the offense in particular has looked the past couple weeks but I would advise very strongly to not overlook this Science Hill team. They have lost two games but both losses were against very good non-conference opponents and SH was very much in both of those games. I think they realize if they can win this one it gets them back on the track in a big way therefore, I think we get their best effort. That being said I still have faith in the THS coaching staff and players to have a great week of preparation for this game and be able to pull it out Friday night.
  3. I was at the scrimmage last Friday and although what's been detailed on here is accurate THS fans should not be overly concerned IMO. As someone stated earlier these preseason scrimmages are more about trying personnel at different positions & testing new formations rather than they are about getting the ball in the hands of your playmakers like an actual game would be. QB Harmon looked good had some receivers drop the ball (not unusual for a preseason scrimmage) but he seemed to be in command of the offense and made a lot of nice looking throws. One of the best offensive plays for THS came on a bad shotgun snap from center that Harmon was able to corral and then avoid the rush to deliver a strike while rolling to his left to WR Simmons who had gotten behind the defense approx 30 yards downfield that resulted in a TD. RB Sheperd was a bit nicked up (nothing serious) and only carried the ball about 4-6 times. I do believe this offense has the potential to be the most effective THS has seen in the last few years if we can keep everyone healthy and utilize Harmon's passing ability to take some pressure off of Shepherd and the running game. THS did use the shotgun 3 wide formation rather frequently. Simmons, Howard, Pendleton, Ellis-Davis & Bishop were some of the guys I noticed being used at WR. THS seemed to be trying out a number of different personnel combinations on the OL and DL as those guys were being swapped in and out frequently. Just some things I remember from the scrimmage for THS fans that were wanting some more info...
  4. I'm with Sequatchie on this one. If he has another season this year like he did last, he will get his share of offers. IMO it would be a shame if UT let a talented young man like this in their backyard slip away.
  5. Orlando participated in the Schuman's National Underclassmen combine in Atlanta, Ga a couple weekends ago. There were over 200 8th graders and FR from the southeast at this combine. Based on his performance he was one of 20 offensive players invited back (they also invite 20 defensive players) to participate in the Schuman's Ultimate 100 camp for freshman also held in Atlanta, GA. He was clocked at 4.64 in the 40 at that combine.
  6. Good Win! Looks like we finally put 4 solid quarters together instead of just a good half. Maybe the best part is KS got to rest and will hopefully will be ready to roll against Betsy...
  7. Robert Mitchell is coaching the RB's at Science Hill now, I had previously told someone that he was not but I was wrong. Just found out otherwise last night. My apologies... On another note, DB looked pretty darn solid last night for an opener, they definitely have a lot of weapons! #65 on defense for DB was a monster. My hat's off to them.... Hopefully the Vikes can use this off week to heal up and get the offense going.
  8. Cap we might have met before. I work at that facility where I bet you watched those basketball tournaments at this summer.
  9. I know Ryan and his family well and he is one of the most respectful young men you will ever meet. Ryan ran track this spring at Science Hill and fared pretty well. He is now 6'2 around 170lbs and extremely fast, I don't know an exact 40 time but I've seen him play both basketball and football many times over the past few years and he is very athletic. He has a sort of slender frame, which is normal for a fairly tall kid at his age, but I hear he's benching in the 225 range so he has decent strength. He also just turned 15 so he is rather young compared to other Sophomores. I hope Coach Smith at Science Hill gives him a chance to show what he can do this year, I have a feeling he'll like what he sees.
  10. I agree 2004... I thought they played well, the D line got good penetration on most plays and it seemed like Colin Hall (I believe it was) was in the backfield all day creating a lot of havoc.
  11. Question for Cap1 or whomever else got to see the Greeneville scrimmage.... How did the THS O-Line look? I know they are returning a few guys that played a good bit last season. Guys like Tabor, Taylor, Tilley & Hall.
  12. Thanks for the info. THSVikings11 /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  13. Does THS scrimmage on Friday 8/8? If so who and where?
