  1. Any word on the street as to who the new Ezell Harding coach will be? Will they hire from within or go searching?
  2. I know Lipscomb lost some good players last year, but what do they have returning?
  3. What happened to him? Condolences to the White House community.
  4. You ARE beating a dead horse & it is getting old. We get your point.
  5. Why would he leave Ezell-Harding for Goodpasture? Goodpasture's girls have been down for quite some time and their middle school team offers no glimpse of better times.
  6. Prayers from Lipscomb for this young man. Hope he and his family gain confidence from so many praying for him.
  7. Many thanks to the Bolivar coach in yesterday's first game for making the loud statement in front of our pitcher that his team was "making a bad pitcher look good". That "bad" pitcher is tough as nails and thrives on beating people like you.
  8. Bolivar did have decent sticks and two good pitchers. After that, it dropped way off. They did not have the pitching depth to go the distance in a state tournament.
  9. Actually you missed 2, but don't worry about it.
  10. Sorry dude. I do not smoke, drink, or chew or go with boys that do. And by the way, my son's team will be playing on Friday.
  11. I also saw a coach have to pay for some of his own players in uniform to get in the game. The gatekeepers absolutely were not going to let them in the game without paying. What is wrong with these people? If I were taking tickets at the gate, that would be one time where common sense would have to rule over "rules". The TSSAA needs to do a better job in instructing these workers in common sense and goodwill.
  12. At Blackman High School, some kids parked in an empty school parking lot across the street from Blackman and walked over to the game. The Nazi parking attendant would not even let them into the parking lot unless they paid to park. Not right at all. We later find out that the host school gets to keep all the parking revenue. The Blackman parents working this venue have not been very cordial or impressive.
  13. All anybody could talk about in the AA tournament was how unfair it was that Goodpasture and USJ were in the same bracket. USJ did not even make it to their bracket finals. What happened?
  14. $7 dollars a game for each session. That was 2 sessions today. $5 dollars to park. It would cost a player's parents $109 dollars just to get in the gates to see their kid play the whole tournament. The parking fee is ridiculous - especially when they charged people who parked off campus and tried to walk to the game. Can you spell R-I-P-O-F-F-?
  15. Is it true that Goodpature's ace broke his hand in the game today? If so, that is too bad for the kid.
  16. First round games are over now. Goodpasture, USJ, Lipscomb & Bolivar won. Looks like the only surprise might be the Bolivar win? What are your thoughts for the rest of the way?
  17. Who says they are? No games have been played yet.
  18. No, no, no... marching band is not a sport. It is no more a sport than football is a musical event. Why don't these band boosters just be proud of what they do & not try to make it into something it isn't? Nobody is trying to say it isn't difficult at times, but get the chip off your shoulder and enjoy it for what it is - a musical endeavor. There is nothing athletic to it.
  19. Those rankings don't mean squat. All that matters is what the teams do game by game in the tournament.

    Ripley

I can't help but notice the win loss record of Ripley. I am sure they are good or they would not be in the state, but what is the scoop on them? Did they upset a few along the way or just play a really tough non-district schedule? What are their strengths and weaknesses?
  21. There are no gifts at this time of year. Everybody there has done something well enough to be there.
  22. I hear Bolivar has one really good pitcher.
  23. Coaches and players seemed to be a class act on the field. Parents were quite whiny.
  24. Both teams played well & it is a shame one had to lose. Congrats Lipscomb. You really gutted this one out!
