Middle Tennessee team looking for a Christmas tournament that will accept only the girls team. Would prefer it be after Christmas. Anybody know of any openings?
Good programs want to play other good programs. That is how you get better. I admire coaches who want to play the best they can find rather than looking for cupcake wins to up their record. That's the way you keep getting better.
Lipscomb has won 7 state championships and over 800 wins since 1978. Averaged 23 wins a season for the past 34 years. Don't talk about it much...just wins in the right way with good kids.
Ditto to PHargis. 800 wins in girls basketball and baseball and a total of 8 state championships between the two. All of it done the right way - with integrity and humility. Well done.
DL boys went home but with their 7th state championship - not "awhining". Lexington was never in it. DL took it to them early and often. Great week for the Mustangs - not flashy - just kept beating the favored (at least in their fans opinions) teams. Great Job Mustangs!
I'd say a 5 point game with 45 seconds to go in the third is close. Most of the game it was 8 pt. difference. That is close enough to be within striking distance. I'll guarantee you the McMinn coach knew it was close enough to matter.
Hats off to a great sub-state environment provided by Lewis Co. Stands were full an hour before the game and their student section was the best I have seen this year. Well played game on both sides with Lipscomb grinding out the win in a very loud & intense environment. Both Lipscomb and Lewis Count were gracious in their roles and winners and losers. Nice people at Lewis Co. A shame that one of these team had to lose tonight. Wish Lipscomb good luck next week at State and Lewis Co. the best of luck next year.
Lipscomb girls are the only representatives of 10AA still playing as of the region semi-final games last night. Congrats to CPA on a good year and best wishes for Lipscomb to carry our district's hopes into the region final and sub-state this weekend.
Back to the original question: She is a good player, but no where near the Pat/Geno level. No knock to her,but whoever started this thread is not aware of the level that those top 10 teams are on.
Thankful for 2 Lipscomb moms and a Goodpasture mom who were nurses and a doctor in the crowd for a job well done in saving Coach Spann. Also if your school does not have an AED in their gym, they should have one today. Still praying for Coach Spann as he enters surgery today.
Lipscomb kids are hilarious. Theme nights bring out the best in them. Christmas sweater night, redneck night, 80's night, LeBron powder night, Where's Waldo night... It goes on and on. Very entertaining.
