  1. They're starting guard, middle linebacker, outside linebacker, 1st and 2nd string tailback, punt returner and kickoff returner, so they're pretty beat up right now. They'll stink it up and move on though. Two of the players might be out for the year they're both 4 year senior starters as well. Don't feel sorry for them though they're a tough team.
  2. There are two dominate teams in this reagion, but let's her some predictions on what the final order will look like.
  3. I don't know Clay County has never been good at stopping the double wing misdirection. They can stop anyone that tries to run right at them but that's not the way the double wing works. Their linebackers are extremely aggresive and don't like to sit back, so there's a chance at an upset. If you could call it an upset. I'm looking forward to the rivalry though there's going to be a big crowd at Clay County.
  4. Celina had a good showing against an athletic group in Taft. I'm still not sure were they will finish in the region standings but you boys played well last night.
  5. I know all of Clay County's players were a little down about their performance. They thought that they could have had a better showing. I thought that they were a pretty descent ball club, and they have the chance to shake things up but I don't see them making the playoffs.
  6. What about that scrimmage last night between Clay County and Cumberland? That was fun to watch good job guys.
  7. I wasn't able to make it to the games, but I heard a couple of guys talking about it. They said Pickett started off well but then it started going downhill for them. They said it was the exact opposite for Clay they started out slow but once they got the early jitters out they took over all the games. Clinton had some good players and made a lot of interceptions on defense early. Overall these teams are going to have decent years, but I don't believe any of them will be over .500
  8. I'm still not understanding how these stats prove what you previously said about Coach Edwards not being as good as Coach Bibbs. I mean why are you on here saying Coach Bibbs can take a young group of kids and make them good, but can't take three 1,000 point scorers mixed in with some YOUNGER kids, which you say he is so good with, and take them to State? Why did you bring up the fact that Pickett County has been in the District Championship since 91? All that tells me is that they were good before Bibbs and they'll be good after. Has nothing to do with who the better Coach is. What exactly did I say about golf that got you're cage so rattled? I apoligized that golf slipped my mind and it really did. You're right though I have no clue about golf whatsoever it's always kinda bored me no offense I've always been a football basketball guy myself, and one more thing I never said anything bad or negative about Pickett basketball I've said plenty of times on this same board that you guys have a great b-ball progam which has earned much respect over the years. So try not to get to offensive this time on here.
  9. If injuries don't plague our boys this year like they did last year I'm predicting a few upsets. Call me crazy but here's my predictions for the season. 1.Trousdale 2.FC 3.Clay or Gordonsville 4.Clay or Gordonsville 5.Watertown 6.Monterey 7.Mount J 8.Red Boiling The game between Clay and Gordonsville will be tough to predict the more talented team will be Gordonsville but it's at Clay. If injuries don't tear them apart by week 10 of the season I'm predicting Clay. Again call me crazy.
  10. It's still early they've only been practicing a week. Besides where did you see them play and who where they playing? No one ever said they were going to win state. I do think they will compete with the best though.
  11. First of all Shaun Garret is 5'10, but he can jump like no one elses business. If you're sitting here telling me that it's only when we have seniors we win and you lose, it's the exact same way with you guys. You said the better coach wins with the younger team then we'll see what Bibbs does with it this year. If he is in fact the better coach than he should atleast beat them once. I mean you guys lost this year with two 1'000 point scorers what does that say about coaching. Edwards is a fine coach he works as hard as the other two any day of the week. I apoligize I wasn't thinking of all the hours golf takes up compared to football. I'm not making any excuses for anything, you won last year. We'll see what happens the next few years.
  12. He was on the team but didn't dress out for any games. He did however get to play J.V. The kid will help them out some this winter.
  13. They've got a pretty descent ball player from Florida, and also a kid that couldn't play last year because of grades the kid is a sharp shooter but needs to improve on defense. That and the fact they only graduated one guy off of last years squad should put them in the front running. What they'll do there or if they'll stay there will be determined come season time.
  14. Now I don't want to start an argument or anything, but I don't know why you're bad mouthing Clay or Coach Edwards. Pickett County is a solid ball team and usually is, but that's all the kids have been raised to do, you don't have many two or three sport athletes like Clay does. They don't even get a chance to pick up a basketball until a week before the season because of football, and I know not many of your players can say that maybe one non-starter. Plus the biggest guy on Clays team last year was 6'1 maybe they had a 5'8 guy playing post. So if you can't give respect to Coach Edwards for beating you guys once last year and giving everyone in the region a good game then you'll get no respect from us. Keep up the good work Clay County. Good luck to the rest of 7A.

I think everyone was kinda young this year. Monterey will be the front runner, I think they have a lot of players returning. I'm not completely sure about Jackson, Pickett, or RB. I do know however that Clay only graduated one, but I'm not sure what that will do for them. Good luck to everyone and congradulations to Monterey you represented 7A well.
