  1. Definitely put Creek Wood in for the Girls Tournament. We have 3.
  2. As soon as I can get the disaster area back together, I'll post some good matches for you guys. Sorry for the wait.
  3. Blackman and MLK are out but everyone else is registered. The periods will be 1,1,1.
  4. Ft Campbell had to drop out due to Kentucky rules and West Creek will not be able to make it. Also still waiting to hear from Blackman.
  5. Here are the teams that are attending this years Creek Wood Redhawk Bash. Creek Wood Northeast Ensworth Dickson Harpeth Rossview Montgomery Central John Paul II Beech Forrest Clarksville Academy- Conn kid only East Robertson Martin Luther King- Chandler, Burnley, and Lowe only Kenwood Chattanooga Central Sycamore Eagleville West Creek Independence Fairview Wilson Central Blackman Fort Campbell Centennial **** The 4 Kentucky teams had to drop out due to Kentucky preseason rules. They are only allowed to attend a preseason tournament up to 6 hours. This will be much longer than that. It should be an excellent day of wrestling. It looks as if we will have some great matchups, but please don't ask who because they aren't set in stone YET. Everyone is welcome to come out and watch. Admission is $7.00 at the door. We'll have a fully stocked concession stand also.
  6. Who have you got so far coach? (for both)
  7. I heard that his father got the wrestling job at Arlington and thats where he will be wrestling this year.
  8. The contact info for the Creek Wood Red Hawk Bash on November 7th and the Creek Wood Invitational on January 16th is Coach Mick Hambrick. Email is coachmick.hambrick@yahoo.com. There are 19 teams entered for the preseason tournament with a few wrestlers from a few other teams representing their schools and 17 teams entered in the January 16th tournament.
  9. Independence is coming to the Creek Wood Preseason and then going to Antioch at the later date.
  10. Coach, Creek Wood has 3 girls this year. Count us in if you will. Thanks
  11. Also Harpeth Invitational December 5th and Ravenwood Invitational January 9th
  12. The Red Hawk Bash is the Preseason Tournament on November 7th, 2009. The coaches will email their kids weight and roster 3 to 4 days before the event and we will then group the wrestlers by weight and experience. Last year we worked off the honor system and I think that it worked real well. You'll have a pound or two difference here or there but it should be pretty close. Even though it would be hard to catch, if we do find that a team is intentionally being deceptive, then they will be asked to leave and will not be invited back. I really don't think we will have that problem though. The teams that we have coming all have really good coaches and I don't think any of them would stoop to that level especially for a preseason tournament. Also most of these kids will be participating in the hydration testing and will need to be pretty close to the weight they will be wrestling. I do think that it should be a very good day of wrestling. We have 23 teams coming and some that are very strong year in and year out.
  13. Creek Wood Preseason Tournament November 7th Creek Wood Invitational January 16th Creek Wood Girls Tournament Date pending
  14. Yesterday I had a long talk with Coach Henry about girls wrestling. Tennessee is in the process of trying to sanction girls wrestling which means they would no longer be wrestling the boys. They are trying to push this though for this year. The girls would need to attend at least 2 girls tournaments that are being set up this year to be considered for a seed at the Girls State Tournament. The three tournaments that I know of right now are Science Hill, Soddy Daisey, and another one in middle Tennessee (not sure where this one is). Creek Wood High School would be interested in maybe hosting a girls tournament and trying to use it as one of the qualifying tournaments but first I would like to know how much interest there would be before I go to my administration with it. If your girls team may be interested please post back and give available dates or if you would prefer email me at coachmick.hambrick@yahoo.com.
  15. We are still having the preseason tournament this year as well as a January 16th tournament. The preseason tournament has 23 teams and we have some very tough teams coming to the regular season tournament as well. As far as Wallick, I'm encouraging him to go to 119 but he may even be 125 this year. He's hit a small growth spurt and he's gained a lot of muscle. I think at 119 he will be under the 7% body fat but barely. Thanks Coach Brown for the well wishes and I'll make sure to tell Tim.
  16. That was a definite blow to our team especially after losing Illig at 160 about a week and a half ago. My other senior tore his ankle up 2 years ago and has dealt with serious pain the last 2 years. This summer the doctor wanted to operate but he's going to try to wrestle through it. Who will replace Tim? Well, I have a decient sized sophomore coming from the football team. Problem- no experience and no aggressiveness- too nice. Also to answer your question on who my 112 will be, he is new also. He's pretty tough but has no experience. As a matter of fact, after losing Tim and Illig I only have 2 seniors (only 1 with any experience), 2 juniors, 9 sophomores, and 7 freshmen. This is probably going to be more of a rebuilding year for us after losing so much so soon.
  17. Defending 215 lb Region 9 Champion Tim Waters tore his ACL, MCL, and his PCL last night during Creek Woods football game against Sycamore. He also had a severe dislocated kneecap. The injury is so bad that the doctors have decided to postpone surgery for a month for the swelling to go down, so he will not be returning this year. Tim is a very classy kid and he wanted me to tell all the 215 lbers that he wrestled last year good luck and he hopes that whoever the top 3 that come out of Region 7 this year will represent our region well.
  18. Unfortuantely Jake Illig won't be with us this year. He tore his ACL out as a sophomore and missed his junior year. He tried to condition with us this year but was still having some issues and didn't feel like he could wrestle like that all year. Two other guys that have gotten dramically better over the summer are Jonah Wallick and Jacob Jordan. Good luck to everybody this year. Should be an exciting region this year.
  19. You could also try contacting Bo Bradshaw at seapparel@comcast.net. He does t-shirts and other stuff. I'm not completely sure that he carrys headgears, but if he doen't he could direct you in the right place. He does all my stuff.
  20. The Ravenwood Tournament is January 9th this year. It's only a one day event. I have no idea if it's full or not. Contact Josh Peck at josh@coachpeck.com.
  21. It normally takes a day or two or three to get back with you but he will get back to you. He's a busy guy.
  22. Bowler94@comcast.net There ya go. Good Luck.
  23. Nununu, don't overlook Dickson either. They will be extremely tough and they too should be mentioned in the top 4 of region 7.
  24. I know that most people we're surprised last year when Montgomery Central made a little noise at the state duals. I think this year they are going to be even more surprised. They only lost 3 seniors and only one of those was a constant point producer. They lost Nesbitt at (I think 119), their 215 and Heavy. That's it, and at the state duals last year, they were in all of their matches pretty heavy. There were no blow outs. I personally think they will be the best small school out of Nashville this year and very well could be in the top 4 in region 7. If Hixson has their core back this year they might be tough to beat, but definitely keep an eye out for MC.
  25. Beech is having a small dual round robin tournament.
