  1. i think ur sellin reaves short. he had 21 last night and is the motor that makes gc go. i think he's actually averaging more a game than ralph. ralph (6"5" senior) and josh reaves (6"2" senior) are the pioneers best two players. get them two in foul trouble and gc is in for a long night...
  2. i have to agree with u on that sharshaw... the level of support the guys team gets in comparison to the girls is laughable at times. it has gotten a little better this year but still a far cry from equal which is a real shame...
  3. seen union university's coach at the gibson co crockett co game... ha i'm sure he liked what he saw as butler started out with 16 in the first quarter! ha i'll be surprised if she ends up somewhere other than union... seems like they get all the great local players from west tn... good game by lady pioneers again in another blowout!
  4. good job to the pioneers starting off undefeated in district play! got down to crockett in third quarter by 14 but battled back to win by 12. ralph had a NASTY tip slam. jumped over a guy and dunk right on his head lol... then got a technical for hanging on the rim and that was his fifth foul so he was out of the game. quite a crazy sequence of events for the pioneers lol... rivalry game vs trenton tomorrow night at home should be a good one!
  5. lol if the king of memphis shows up an supports milan than u already know the bulldogs are gone smash alcoa haha... yo gotti short self will get dem boys hyped for sure lol that'd be awesome
  6. lol u'll know who he is when dc plays westview... the whole westview team can shoot the 3 but this kid really can do it all on the offensive end! has a sweet left handed stroke really reminds me of justin blake except drives to the goal more often rather than shootin just a ton of three's... him vs cj should be a fun match up to watch!
  7. i'd agree with that. quick. can shoot the outside shot very well. has nice handles. only negative thing i saw from him against usj was he had a couple lay ups he missed because he tried to finish on the right side with his left hand, but that is something he can improve on. i'd say he's definitely a mid-major talent if he continues to progress at the rate he is now. his brother #24 isn't bad either.
  8. i kno this is a little bit off topic but i do wanna say that i was pretty impressed with westview especially the guard lloyd... the kid got to the goal at will and can really shoot the 3!! he had like 12 or so in the first quarter i believe... this martin team i believe will give dyer county a run for their money as the whole team can really shoot the 3 as well as take it to the basket.. only question there will be can they contain cj... i'll definitely be there to watch that game though!
  9. if yarborough was number 30 then yes i was pretty impressed wit him too. didnt play like a freshman! hit several nice jumps shots with a hand in his face. hudson had a few sweet three's from the corner as well. the future looks bright for the fans in orange.
  10. but dc did play a very good game though! lol they got another good squad this year and some very good talent for the future. good luck to the choctaws this season as well as the tornadoes
  11. only negative thing i really saw from dc tonight (my first time to see them this year) is that it seemed liked all the players were only concerned with scoring their own points. not alot of unselfish plays... i really expected for cj to have alot more assists than he did but he shot every time he got in the lane instead... he did have one really nice cross though he made one of union city's players fall lol... ha seemed like the refs were just determined to foul out big ced from the beginning... i will say this. i've never seen a player play harder than simpson from union city. half of his points came off of him just flat out wanting the ball more than the other team an getting boards and stuff like that. that kid can really play i hope he plays college somewhere next year.
  12. not taking anything away from union city's season last year. but if u honestly think that mj brown could of defended brandon jennings then u are a fool. union city would of gotten smashed by oak hill. we're talkin future nba players against one maybe two mid major players... sorry they just would not match up...
  13. lol 96 to 102 in a 32 minute game... there had to of been zero defense played in that game... yes trenton can shoot the three though i'll give em that one... but giving up 96 points you'll have trouble beatin good teams like uc humbolt lc... defense wins championships...
  14. lol yeah if its at dc then u should have no problem... they're small but fairly quick it should be a match up of dueling point guards... i'll take dc by 21...
  15. IF the game is in ripley... i'll take ripley by five with 7 dc players fouling out... if its in dc i'll take dc by twenty in a blowout...
  16. no no haynes did have 7 three's. aubrey had 2 or 3 three's too though. she had at least ten points...
  17. agreed... i see him being mvp of the district his senior year... if he keeps improving. cant currently think of any sophomores in the district that would top him...
  18. wow that really is goin to be a test for them early... dont sleep on westview this year they have some excellent sophomore guards... especially the left handed one i think he's number 12 kid has a beautiful stroke. actually reminds me alot of justin blake...
  19. she played quite a few minutes i know she had at least 2 3's and some more points under the basket... ha looks like haynes is tryin to steal butler's thunder!!! with them two shooting the rock like they were last night there is no one who can play with them... big things i see in the lady pioneers future!
  20. lol if humboldt doesnt beat d-burg by at least 35 then i doubt they beat uc... cause dyersburg just has lost too dang much an humboldt supposedly is supposed to be the best in years... so i expect to see a blow out from what these humboldt fans are saying... it'll be nice to see how humboldt handles a team that can really bring the pressure defensively like uc and it'll be nice to see how union city plays against a team who out sizes them significantly... huge game for both teams good luck to both!
  21. saw lexington play twice this summer. in a game against gc they won by one i believe... seemed to have trouble with gc's full court press. however i will say they go fifteen deep and they all are very athletic. give the speed and athleticism edge to lexington but i think dc should win if they can apply the pressure for 4 quarters. a couple of very long big men down low for lexington dc will have to crash the boards or else...
  22. note that gc was up by 8 or 10 on munford after one half in their scrimmage and they didn't play well either... i honestly dont think that u can really judge a team until after christmas especially ones with alot of new players in the rotation in dc's case or with new coaches in gc's case...
  23. lol i was at that game when he shattered it. somethin i'll never forget for sure... shivers could jump out the gym probably more so than any other player out of there in the past five or six years. and he had a dang good jumper too...
  24. lol i dont think u can compare westview to the team gc ran into at state last year...
