  1. Correction...no live playoff game video is allowed.
  2. Apparently per the TSSAA rules, streaming video is not allowed, so it'll have to be radio. MUS will post the entire video on their site the following day, don't know about MBA.
  3. Sorry, I really don't have the time, but if you really wanted all the facts, then you'd need to extrapolate your figures out a little farther...who did Melrose play and the scores, and the scores of their opponents opponents and so on. I'm sure you can see it's a useless endeavor. I'm curious though...if MUS wins on Friday, will you then admit that MBA got beaten by what you consider a "lesser" opponent with a fluff schedule? By the way, MUS has no choice but to play ECS, BCS and CBHS...they are in our region. Peace. /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />
  4. Naw, I think we got your point...but it's a very debatable one.
  5. Good points, Memphisreb. The MUS-CBHS series is a heated rivalry, just like MBA-BA, who played to a whopping 13-7 score this year. So much for the margin of victory argument when you're talking a long-standing rivalry.
  6. Barry went to the O-linemen after practice today and thanked them for helping him get the nomination. Very classy of him.
  7. I had to log back in to correct a misimpression...considering that I'm a mom, I'd prefer to be called "ladylike". And yes, the MUS facility is very impressive.
  8. OK, well then I stand corrected. Guess it's my Shelby County public school education. I think I need to stay off this board for the duration...with a son on the field for the Owls, I'm far too close to see things objectively, and it's just not good for my psyche. Hope you MBA folks have a safe trip down and back, and here's to a good clean game. Go Owls!
  9. I guess I was looking at the wrong site. I could swear that the TN Super Prep site's stats would have been correct. They show that of MBA's opponents, four had losing records (Antioch, PJP, Baylor and FRHS) and same for BA (Independence, Baylor, PJP and FRHS).
  10. Still don't quite see your point...BA's schedule included five teams with even or losing records this year (and they lost to the team with an even record). MBA's schedule included five teams with even or losing records. Ensworth's schedule included six teams with losing records. MUS's schedule had only four teams with losing records. So if you're talking sheer wins and losses (which it appears that you are), it does seem that MUS had the tougher schedule this year.
  11. It wasn't the struggle that everyone on here seems to think it was, but if it helps lull the MBA guys into a false sense of security, that's a plus. MUS lost two fumbles on punt receptions, but once the offense got a chance to spend a little time on the field, they dominated. MUS put some new numbers and names in the record books last night.
  12. BGA was driving, but fumbled the ball into the end zone where Doran recovered it for the score. Scary way to get a TD!
  13. Owls roll. The MUS O-line was just outstanding. Great win!
  14. I think it's a classic case of failure to live up to pre-season hype. Back in the summer, the big argument on this board was who's going to win state...BA or MBA? Granted, either or both could still wind up in the championship game, but it certainly doesn't seem to be the sure bet it once was.
  15. Walt Wepfer of MUS is by far the best punter in all of DII, supported by the stats on the Super Prep site.
  16. After having seen Ligon and Brucker in action, you'd better figure out a way to clone Wesley Johnson by tomorrow night or your QB is going to spend a lot of time looking up at the night sky.
  17. And that's the way we like it! /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
  18. This list is Scout's top 40 pre-season TN prospect list...all seniors. Darkwa's a junior, right, so he wouldn't be on there anyway. All of these players made the rounds at junior days, camps and combines during the spring and summer to get their names and faces out there. I don't know whether Jefferson did or didn't participate in any of these things, but if he didn't, well, there's your explanation.
  19. And OB was nationally ranked when MUS beat them, yet MUS hasn't cracked the top 100 like Ensworth did by beating MBA. Hmmm, guess the Owls still have something to prove. /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" />
  20. Don't forget #32 Will Stokes, MUS. And Courtney Easterwood is at Olive Branch now.
  21. I find it hard to believe that the talent evaluators have largely ignored MUS's seniors. There's been some interest, but no offers to my knowledge. It's incredible that a team can get to 10-0 in Division II AA, after playing and beating a nationally-ranked team which has a number of DI commits (Olive Branch), yet not a single MUS player has an offer.
  22. Hmmm...and MUS beat Prattville in the Hoover Select 7-on-7 this summer. I know, I know, it's 7-on-7 and that doesn't really mean anything, but it does make things a little more interesting.
  23. I had not read this article all the way through until now...didn't know Campbell had surgery. I know he injured his shoulder playing defense in the MUS game and I'm still puzzled over why their starting QB was playing defense in the first place. Now that the backup has gotten his game legs, I think Briarcrest can give BA a good game.
  24. Briarcrest beat Evangelical Christian, so that makes it CBHS @ MBA and BGA @ BCS.
  25. MUS started out a little sluggish, but things picked up. Score was 59-7, and Owls are 10-0 regular season. Special night for the seniors.
