  1. I would guess he is referring to QB/FS Justin Sylvester who tweak and ankle last week. Just a guess.
  2. I figure you don't count any player out unless something is broken or torn. Sometimes that does not stop some kids. This will also be Bearden toughest opponent this year. Carter gained plenty of yardage in the air but Bearden intercepted Landry Stanton to stop several drives. West ran on Bearden, but could not get their sophomore QB in synch with his two best targets until late in the game. The key has been the Bulldog's defense and the consistent play of Tanner Fine, the DL and some spectacular plays by DB Devrin Young. If Sensebaugh and Sylvester can't go, the game will rest on the legs and arm of Crawford. Should be a good matchup in week 2.
  3. Friday night will be a tough game for the Bearden Bulldogs. West struggled in the passing game for most of the night and still managed to be in the game late in the fourth quarter. The Bulldogs will have to contain Crawford and whatever running back they roll out (does not seem to matter if it is Sensebaugh or Sylvester). The Bulldogs need Potter to hit his favorite targets, Robertson, Tull, and Landers.
  4. Yes Devrin does a good job following his blockers as he seeks a lane to run. 70 is senior Travis Roberson and he is big. West had chances but as you stated penalties and turnovers cost them dearly. West had more yards on the ground, more first downs, led in time of possession, but could not get their passing game going until late in the game. Christian Francis looked like the sophomore that he is.
  5. Mark, I am sorry you are so bent on picking on one publication. Believe me they all have mistakes. No sir I do not work for any company that publishes magazines, but nice try. /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />
  6. Devrin with another big game on the ground for the Bearden Bulldogs. I believe he had 165 with a long TD run of more than 60 yards. The kid is electric.
  7. So. Christian Francis is the starting QB for West. Tough start against Farragut. Christian is the son of former Vol, Jeff Francis.
  8. VSM is not just a high school magazine. It covers the entirety of Tennessee football. High school, college, and pro. Do they make a few mistakes? Yes, but they all do. This sounds like a bitter personal outburst.
  9. Brandon Reagan at Bearden does a good job handling the kicking and punting duties. Hit a FG tonight vs Carter and made all extra points. Was averaging 40 per punt until a Carter rush caused him to hurry the punt to avoid getting blocked.
  10. Please folks take blurs word for it, Devrin is the real deal. He will make plays against all the competition.
  11. Any more scrimmages to add? I know the Jamboree in Knoxville will be held on August 14th and 15th At Central you have TSD vs Kings Academy, Halls v. Fulton, Hardin Valley v. Cosby, Gibbs v. Grace Christian, Cosby v Hardin Valley, and Carter v. Central. Starts at 7pm on the 14th. At Bearden you have CAK v. Powell, Karns v. Webb, West v. Austin-East, Farragut v. South-Doyle, and Catholic v. Bearden. Action begins at 7pm at Bearden on the 15th.
  12. Word on the street is that Stinson may have already worn out his welcome at Central.
  13. In KNoxville the Murphy Fair magazine is available at Border's location near West Town Mall and the Turkey Creek store. Got mine yesterday.
  14. I would imagine that there is not a single high school preseason magazine that is 100% accurate. There is not enough time, staff or money to cover the entire state with due diligence. A friends son plays lineman for a local high school and one of this year's high school magazines has him listed as an All-Knox County Linebacker. Take these magazines for some brief capsule of information that it is, but not the Tennessee High School Football Bible.
  15. Tennessee Football from VSM is back from the printer and looks sweet. One cover has Eric Berry and the one for sale at Pilot only has Arian Foster on the cover.
  16. Any relation to Jeff Francis, former Vol QB?
  17. We are talking high school football. I hear Jock is so talented that yes he could step right in and be the starter at QB.
  18. Still under tha cap; no luxury tax will be assessed!
  19. I thought he was very successful at failing drug tests? /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> Hopefully a lesson has been learned from the discipline he received at Fulton.
  20. So Central traded Styles, Jr. to Fulton for Jock Stinson?
  21. a poster on another thread said that Jock Stinson is transferring to Central. True?
  22. Knox County Football Jamboree will be at Bearden on the 14th and Central HS on the 15th.
