I hope you get the shot. I'm just telling you what's out there in the west. Meigs could easily be the team that represents the east this season. Trousdale, Meigs, Marion, Tyner could all win in the east on any given night. The problem is the team coming from the west is just a whole lot better. Nothing to be ashamed of though. We've grown use to that being the case down here in 1A. This year is no different for us either.

I understand what you meant now. I've seen Waverly this year vs Huntingdon and they have a good team. I'm pulling for them to get there in the west. I like seeing teams that haven't ever been successful rising from the ashes and winning. It's good for the community as well.

Willie, I saw Waverly vs Trezevant game last season as well as Marion live on several occasions. The semifinal and championship game were both undecided until very late in the fourth quarter. I agree with you on one point though. The Marion team from 2015 was better than the 2016 team. That Walters kid was a beast and that team also had Henderson. A healthy Richardson was just too tough to overcome late in the game in that wildcat in 2015.

It's about 1 1/2 now since it's playoff time. As for SP, I think they have some talented kids in their 7th and 8th grades as well. Time will tell how good they can be. I agree with you though on SP being a tough out in the playoffs and the next 3 years to follow.

He is definitely a great player. He is the best RB in the valley and it's not close. Was the paper wrong last week with his numbers? The boxscore said 16 carries for 160 something. Regardless, you're right. The kid is a special RB.

And guys just for the record I am pulling for Waverly. They have historically been a perennial doormat. I love seeing teams rise from the ashes. I remember two years ago when these current juniors were freshmen and last year's seniors were juniors. Waverly had a decent regular season. I made the statement that they were 1-2 years away from really competing with these good classes of athletes they had coming through. I know a little more about Waverly than most people probably realize.

I agree on many of your points. They are my favorite, but this talk of the greatest team someone has ever seen is ridiculous. I'm a SP fan through and through, but one thing I'm not is a homer of my team. LMBO

Yes, I saw the Trezevant game. I have seen the Huntingdon game this season. I've been around a very long time and have seen ALOT of great 1A and 2A football teams. I've also seen some good teams that managed to win the gold ball.

Griping about the officiating after the fourth down they awarded them to keep the game going wouldn't be smart. SP had a lot more penalties.

Waverly has a good 2A team, but in no way shape form or fashion are the best in years anywhere but in Waverly. They have a great chance to win it all, but don't get carried away. I've seen 2A Alcoa and CAK teams through the years that would beat them soundly. The old Goodpasture and Lipscomb teams were also monsters. SP and Trousdale have had some great ones. Union City in 2014, CPA 2000, Ezell Harding 2001, among others in 1-2A.

Marion County was just as good if not better than Waverly last season. They were good in all phases of the game. Their 2015 team was better than last season, but last year was still a very good team. The Marion and Trezevant game was nip and tuck until the very end. Anyone that says they would have not had a chance against Waverly must be a homer. Before anyone replies, Waverly was one of my two preseason picks to win the gold ball. Also, I'm no Marion fan. They are a bitter rival. I'm just calling it like I see it.
