I heard from one of the players today that Coach Derrick brought the team to a meeting this morning and announced that he would be resigning as of today and would be moving back down to georgia sometime in july. I am with canadian, I dont think Wilkerson wants the spot has head coach but i think Masengil will take it if he is offered it. But best of luck to the Derrick family. You was a heck of a coach and turned the program around.

I think central will hold their ground if they can hold their composer and play to their full potential. Alcoa is a powerhouse in football and everyone knows the name. But Alcoa is just a name and tell your boys to remember that. GO CHARGERS!!!!!!!!!

You dont think central will be that tough lol. You beloved Howard is goin to get their eyes drilled in this year. What do you mean teams like red bank. I think they will be pretty good this year as far I can tell. They got a heck of a d line this year. With Stiles and King returning at d-ends not much is going to get through the line. Ragland will be back this year as a line backer. He will have 2 new faces beside him Walker and Preskit. The secondary will be a whole different story too. Dont know much about it. The o-line is up for grabs like every year. They lost Long and Cass on the o-line. Be sure to see a few new faces on it also. The back field you will see Rayl as QB and possilby safty. But in all every position is up for grabs and the only way to know for sure who will be startin is week 0. Best of luck this year to the Chargers!!!!! GO CHARGERS!!!!!!

I got to play under him 1 year. He is a great motivator. He had some talent just not enough discipline in the players when i was there.

Central has run the mid line sense coach derrick has been at central. Not many teams can stop it when they do run it.

I am a huge central fan and played for them recently. But I think polk will have the advantage this year if central doesnt step up to the challenge of the schedule this year. Plus they did lose a few players on the line also. Coach wilk will have to beef the line up this year if they want to get anything going this season. GO CHARGERS!!!!!!!!

They finally got a hold of the coaches at soddy and it is still on at 6. But now the weather is going to be a deciding factor if it will even be played.

From what i have seen out of Howard they are not as good of team they were last year. Their line looks lazy and they are not as fast as last year. I went and watched when they played tellico and it would have been a close game if it wasnt for all the turnovers. So i am not that impressed with howard this year. But if they can come out with a win i will be impressed. But if Polk so called number one defense in the state is true Polk should have no problem shutin down Howards speed. And stamina does have a major roll cause howard is good for the first two quaters and after that they are done. Plus they havent played anyone with a good defense this year anyways. So polk should win this one 28-12 Polk. GO CHARGERS!!!!!!!

Yea you had players out so did we. No one is cryin. The 3 5a must not have nothing if CC is gonna put up a scrap for a top spot. Plus one of the coaches said that yall was missing a qb and one player who shattered his hip and thats it that sounds like several players to me. Sounds like to me you got a real good education that you cant count from 1 to 7. I already laughed how a 3a football team beats a 5a football team.

It was a good game considering the chargers played mostly freshmen and sophomores. McMinn Central only played 3 seniors on defense. They were missing 9 players and one was all-state player and the other two didnt play as much as they usually do on friday nights. They were giving the younger guys some playin time. GO CHARGERS!!!!!!!!!!

I do agree it is a little early to be sayin they are a state championship team but i do think they will be very good. They did play decent with players missing but i do think there is still some work to be done on the practice field with attitudes of some players and also they need to find more depth in line. Other than that i think the chargers are set to have an outstanding season.

It was a decent scrimmage considering the chargers were missing 9 key players.

Im ready for todays scrimage and to go see what the CHARGERS will bring today after a hard week of two-a-days.

From what i heard from the coach over at McMinn (not to be confused with McMinn Central) said that they put up 8 touchdowns on them in a scrimage. So i dunno how they look. Also heard that coffee co lost 23 seniors last year

I dunno where you got your info from. But jordan jackson took a hard hit in practice tuesday which just messed his shoulder up but he will be back on monday. The new Qb zack rayl just has a strained muscle in his ribs which isnt bothering him anymore from what i have seen this past week in two-a-days. The only lineman out his green still. The all state d-end isnt injured. He is perfectly fine. He is on a family trip right now and will return on monday ready to go.

yea it will be the end of the world in your book cause the chargers will be playing in a state championship.

Well ok maybe not Cass but i know for a fact that long is weighin out at 273 this year and keeps gettin to be a beast as for boggess he is in the weight room hard and is also a beast so just watch out for those two

Yea i feel the same Walker needs to step it up if he wants to give Watson a run for his money.
