I am on this site because I am a Loretto supporter.

I attended this game and Loretto just flat got out played. Mars hill might have averaged 5'10 across the board and held Loretto to very few second chance points. I expected Loretto and their size to dominate the rebounding margin but Mars Hill done a great job keeping them off the boards. Turnovers hurt the mustangs as well but give credit where it due. Mars Hill flat got after it!! BIG but a lack of toughness for the mustangs who I was told would walk through the district.

Sounds like you were around Coach Statom, who was a hard working coach that was passionate for many years about Collinwood Football. Coach Statom also worked with 50 to 60+ players during his run. I am also glad to see your last sentence be a positive one. My point is still being missed! If Coach Littrell were to spend countless hours watching film and focusing on the mental preparation, would Collinwood have a win on their record at this point? The answer is No. The goal right now is to keep his guys interested in the program and have them believe that its going to get better.

This has nothing to do with my post. I simply posted my opinion based on the only game I have been to. I never said anything about Coach Littrell's knowledge nor his practice schedule. All I stated was that its a knew era and its time to improve as coaches/players in a program that is now without Coach Statom. However, I am sure someone as knowledgeable about football as you would be 4-0 at this point.

I've seen and heard a lot about this teams struggles and according to many Cwood fans its all because of this basketball coach that was hired to coach football. I have only watched one game and that was the Wayne Co. game. I saw a team that was very fundamentally sound on defense, breaking down and making form tackles. Cwood lacks size, strength, speed, depth, maturity, and any other asset good football teams have. Cwood fans are going to have to be patient and understand that this is not coach Statom anymore. Its a new era for Cwood football and players/fans are going to have to adjust and grow with the new system. So instead of pointing fingers at the coaching staff, try accepting the down year and trust that the players and coaches will continue to improve in the upcoming years. For the record Nick Saban would be 0-4 with this football team.

I hope its not a problem...Getting beat by Cwood and starting 0-2 in district play would be nothing to joke about!

Better be careful! From my understanding Tucker wont be present Friday night against Cwood. Cwood handled Loretto last night having a 20 point lead multiple times during the game. However, Cwood still has their best player on the bench. Hes expected to be back after Christmas... District 12a could be real interesting this year!

1.Perry County- The favorite of this district and will have to play with a target on their back all season. 2.Summertown- Its SUMMERTOWN they will be somewhere around the top come season end. 3.Collinwood- My dark horse! Young team with a lot of talent and depth. When Montgomery gets back watch out for this team after Christmas. 4.Wayne Co- Well coached team that could make a run. Still in football right now and 2 of their best players are on the fball team. 5.Loretto- Same as every other year. Might upset someone once but they will finish the same as always. 6.Clifton- Same clifton different year.

#6 is a good player, and has been making big plays for the last three years at collinwood. The thing is a lot of the time #7 is running for his life, and also cwood isnt throwing it as much now. As far as the coaching goes cwood is getting coached very well i mean they have won 4 in a row including a big win over Adamsville. I think everything is running smoothly for the Trojans and every player is playing there roll well.

If Collinwood dont make many mistakes as far as penalties, and turnovers Ill go with them. They would have won 42 0 against lewis county if it wasnt for stupid penalties. Two touchdowns called back for blocks in the back that had know effect on the play. Also they was in position to score in a no huddle offence and got a delay of game. This is things they will have to fix this week before Mt pleasant. They fix these things they go to 2-0 they dont then Mt plesant might beat them bad. That being said i say Statom has these things polished, and the victory will go to the WOOD.

Scotts Hill was terrible. Collinwood didnt get anything out of this scrimmage. Our freshman were the only ones who improved.

I will say that all 4 teams from 12A move on to the simi finals. PC and summertown sould be a given, and i think if WC will get out and run with it and dont let cully keep the score in the 30's they will win easy. I also think cully can win this game if they slow it down and make WC play there game. Now for the MTP and Cwood game i say that all 4 teams from 12A will move on. That can only happen if Cwood wins. Cwood only wins if they slow it down and keep MTP off the boards. Ive seen MTP play a few times this year and i still dont know if ive really seen them score in a half court set its all transition points and offensive rebounds. Cwood can win this game but i will say if they dont have enough i dont see MTP going any deeper in the than the simi's

My brief Mid Season summary of 12A in no order Summertown (7-6)-About like i thought they would be. Its Summertown they have always,and are going to always be a contender in this district Key Players:Clifton,Matthews,and Chard Collinwood (8-5)- A little better than i thought they would be. Lost a lot from last years team, but looks to be filling some shoes, and picking up some wins i didnt think they could win. They will be a contender in 12A Key Players:Jacob Gobble,and Chase Roberson Wayne Co (6-7)-About like i thought they would be. The most athletic team in the district. They are for sure a contender in the district. Key Players:Tyler Rice,Tyler Dixon,and Micah Brantley Perry Co (8-4)-Not Quite as good as i thought they would be. This does not mean that there not a good team, I just had them being dominant in this distict,and i was wrong because Summertown, and Collinwood showed me they can be beat. Still the favorite in this district. Key Players:Dray Mercer,Will Averet,and Christian Cunningham Loretto (1-12)-About what i thought they would be. They just dont have a winners mentality,but they play hard. Thier just to young right now to be a contender. Key Players:Clift,and Jake Shadix Clifton (?)-A little better than i thought they would be, but still the same Clifton. Win a few here,win a few there by Tourny time they will take a back seat with Loretto. Key Players: Cameron Blackburn

I give forrest all the credit in the world. I was just saying that when collinwood gets in foul trouble its hard on them. Also only 2 of there post players didnt dress out 1 with a knee the other if im not mistaken had a broke nose from the week before im pretty sure you can play after a broke nose if you want too, so dont use that excuse. If you want to go down that road collinwood has had a starter out since the 6th game of the year with a broke hand. Good win for Forrest i like the way they play no matter the talent there that coach always has teams that play hard. Also on the farris kid what happend to his knee i hope hes not a senior or out for ther year because he is a very good player.

Well Collinwood got in foul trouble right when you left. 2 starters ended up with 3 fouls with a few min left in the first half and when them 2 went out forrest made a run and cut it to 8 before halftime after that it was back and forth the hole game. If you have watched collinwood play you have seen that they only play 6 people if they get in foul trouble its hard on them.There a pretty good team though they beat 9-1 Richland tonight. Thats a big win to build on going into the halfway point of the season.

I didn't say it was the right way to start off the season. I was just informing how the games go, i dont think it should be this way either, becuase coaches will call in there scores, and stats like its a real game, but really the score nor the stats count for the loseing team. But the TSSAA allows it so will just have to deal with it.

No this is girls too. In fact if you win this game it counts on your record, but if you lose it doesnt. This is pretty much a season game its on the CWOOD schedual. And Chase Roberson did not start last year he got some decent playing time but Gobble's the only starter back from last years team.

Collinwood plays Smyrna and Culleoka as far as i know. Does anyone know the game times, and what other teams will be there. Also any thoughts on these games ive seen collinwood and culleoka play and they both lost a ton from last years team. I know nothing on smyrna other than they didnt win very many games last year.

Are you serious. Thats a big win for c'ville creats an even bigger game for cwood and wc tomorrow night
