  1. Congratulations to all who won. Hope no one had any serious injuries. Finaly get a chance to see Millington play and man what a defensive battle. Field conditions were bad and fumbles ruled the night. Exciting overtime win by the Trojans. Both teams showed alot of grit and heart. Not sure if it was play calling or just that #7 was just overwhelmed but dang what was he doing on some of those plays. One word of advice to the Trojans we had better get #11 back on the field quick. From what my friends say who get to go to more games than I do he seems to stay pretty calm. It was ugly but we will take it.
  2. WOW.. negative so negative,,, I didn't think it was so bad for a team that only had a day and a half of practice last week and besides I ask you to try and find all the penalties that were called on us.. was it sloppy play or sloppy officials? Either way WE ARE THE TROJANS.. BELIEVE MAN BELIEVE...
  3. After reading all the opinions this morning from the pundits made on this thread from the past week I would have to say GO TROJANS!. It is good to know that the Trojan boys have something that the pundits (some, not all pundits) don't have and that is belief in themselves and their leadership ability. Millington had fumbles yes and the defense needs to work on the pass protection but they first had to beat the officials before they could beat the Panthers. The O and D stepped up for this game. I believe it was either Trader B or Cam6 said to forget pride you need to concentrate on improving and developing: I would say that any team without pride will never improve or development as that pride is the catalyst that drives the spirit of kid to want to improve or develop more each week. Last night at the viewing of the MUS and SP game the common point was that SP was faster, bigger and stronger than MUS. MUS won in the end because SP was out coached.
  4. Our Trojans were set up for failure by our Coaches: meaning putting 2 TOUGH teams first in line back to back: not just physically put as someone posted earlier psychologically which is sometimes more important. MUS and OB 3 yrs ago Trojans would have never thought about stepping on the field with those guys. Trojans took the field at MUS and OB took our field last night knowing that both teams are known nationally for their records and players. Our boys showed courage and fight. MUS and OB are coached by men who spend all summer training themselves and then taking that knowledge and putting it on the playing field. Those boys showed they were well coached. Trojans for the most part are coached but only coached on what worked in prior years not looking at their current talent and working the coaching around that. Our boys are good. The talent is there that has been proven by the Metro Coaches and 9th grade coaches. Starting next week we are back into our regions and will see how we match up. Our test was not MUS or OB our test will be how we fair in our region. Be proud that Our Trojans showed that they do have pride and took on those games for the ability to learn outside the box. That is more than our regional opponents have done so far this year. Now, let play some Trojan Football!!
  5. I Agree with Millingtonfan2007. You don't have to get totally away from the wingT. There are passing sets out of the wingT you just have to practice them. Then use them. MCHS has been notorious about working on all kinds of stuff a practice then never using it.
  6. Rob M and Dou have good points. Trojans are full of talent but it must be utilized in the right spots by the coaching staff. Millington has to loosen up the offensive and spread it out. We still love and support our Trojans.
  7. First I want to say that I love the Trojans. Second you can't win a big game if you are predictible. How many games is it going to take before the MCHS staff get a clue? You have to be balanced. Gardner showed that he can be a punishing runner but must wrap both arms around the ball when finishing a run. The QB showed he actually can move as well as throw. You just place him in a bad position when everybody in the stadium knows you have to throw. The D of MUS was tougher than anybody thought and the O was as tough as everybody thought. MCHS has the power to run and ability to throw the short pass but not the speed to get to the corners so adjust and dominate. Then throw down the field the tall recievers are there. Although we have some injuries at receiver now that we need to heal.
  8. Haven't been on in awhile. I agree with just about all of the quote's on here. This could and should be a very exciting year for the TROJANS. I believe that if a school is asked to play at a non neutral site for something like an invitational then all of the schools should benefit in some manner.
