Love to hear from some of you all in the Smyrna "Know crowd", how's the boys attitude been during the off week? After the last two tough losses, I hope they don't "mail it in" early because "I think" they can still get a playoff spot with a W in the last 3 games with some help, Right? We are still in the hunt for a "low" seed if I'm not mistaken. I know the new tie breaker crap could hurt but........??????? I’m sure that some of these higher seeds don’t want to see the Bulldogs slotted for a week 1 playoff game because I can say with certainty that Smyrna is the best 3-4 team out there. (For what thats worth) Anyway......even if not, this is still Lavergne week and they should be up for it.

Wasn't me this time 81BPD.....HA HA......Surprised that joker that was busting my chops all last week didn’t jump on that. Boy, sure looking forward to this one. I know for a fact Lavergne has some good young players on their side. Smyrna should win it soundly if they play well. If not……..it could be another tough district game for the dogs. Go Dogs!!!

Smyrna's "O" has really improved a lot since that week. I think Riverdale beat's Blackman……..Soundly. Just my opinion

I will be there early. Hope to have a big crowd and a great HS football atmosphere tomorrow night. Smyrna really needs this one for many reasons. Mostly to stay in the playoff hunt but also to get back some confidence for this young talented football team. Should be good weather, maybe some rain early in the day but the field is in great shape and should have a good track come game time. I know it will be very physical and hope the Bulldogs get the W when the final down is played. Go Dogs!

So what, our offense was on the field when you offense was on the field. So that would mean your offense couldn't score on our offense, let alone our defense.... oh shizzle I gone cross eyed. Also, I know who is on the dog gone schedule heck I wrote the check for most of the games between recruiting visits, bake sales and car washes. P.S. Alright bulldog86, I hate to attack what may possibly be family... but you asked for it. When posting, if a red squiggly line shows up underneath a word, "offence" that line indicates that you have successfully misspelled that particular word. You could recall my Lincoln County post for a solution for the misspelling issue or google it. Also a "bit" is usually used to steer or turn a horse, or it could be the past tense of bite, which what I think you meant. Now as far as what everyone thinks of Blackman... ask Tullahoma, Lincoln County, Cane Ridge, Lavergne and Station Camp how good Blackman is. I agree the Smyrna game was still in the air up till the final horn. They could have played two more quarters and the score may well have been the same. I believe all four contenders in this region are very similar and the winners of those games will be determined by the teams that gets the cheap points, like a punt return, short field or a pick six. And what's up with the "Good luck to both squads. Hope you both come out of this on healthy." who are you, France? I think this is a good one. Blackman is not as good as everyone thinks and Siegel is better then people think. Smyrna played them both and neither offence scored an offensive TD. Although Blackman still won the game with a punt return and FG. Before the Blaze fans start up on me, No argument they beat Smyrna that night. Hope Smyrna makes the playoffs and gets another shot at Blackman but they have some work to do to earn that opportunity. Siegel may bit ya if you go in to confident. Siegel passes the eye test, looking great in their uniforms but that won't win football games, I know, but they have some talent on that team. Good luck to both squads. Hope you both come out of this on healthy. 21-17 Blackman? But watch out

I'm not sure I really want to post my true thoughts on this game. I feel another poster hit it on the head a few back. That Ensworth lost was a real tough loss and this could go one of 2 ways. It could be a learning experience for this young team and they can feed off the bad feeling and never wanting to feel that way again or the second option, they get down in the game and they go in the tank and “sell the farm”. I'd hope that option #2 is not an option, time will tell. I sure would like to see the Bulldogs come back from this a stronger team. Not listening to the folks say "were a year away". I say you make the next team on the schedule pay for the past week's hardship and that is Riverdale. Riverdale has something good going this year and it will be tough to come out on top this week. It’s getting to the "sink or swim" time now. If Smyrna loses this week, the post season will be nearly impossible. It sucks to categorize this game as “do or die” but for Smyrna, I'm afraid it is. So go do it Bulldogs!! Be the team everyone knows you can be and get a W this week. Then approach ever game as a playoff game from here on out. GO DAWGS!!!!!!!!

Oh yea.......they will fight and play fast, hard hitting football. Ensworth will know they were in a battle when 00:00 is on the clock. As far as your peaking question...........at the end of the year is the best time for sure. Starting out fast mean nothing if you don't finish. Hot team at the end of the year is always a good thing.

You make some good points but I do not think Smyrna needs to feel they need to "play nearly flawless football" to win this week. You can't go into a game afraid to make mistakes and if this is what the kids believe, then Smyrna is already in trouble. I think they need to clean up some fumble issues, yes but come in Friday Night, knowing you will win if you execute. Lastly, who cares about respect? Just win........Smyrna had respect to start the year off and did that get them W's? Go win and things will take care of itself. This football team should not care what others think. I think that is a big issue for a young football team. Just get better every day. They need to worry about more productive things, like beating one of the best teams in the state, one of the best team in any state. Rival has them 70th in the nation as of today. That would get my juices flowing if I was playing in this game. I always wanted to play the “best” when I was playing. I hope the Smyrna kids have the same felling. Go get’em Dogs!!!

Now about the game......boy, Ensworth has some talent! Not only that, they are well coached. Defense needs to bring their feet when they tackle this week or this Tailback will be breaking all the arm tackles. If we tackle well, I think the D will be fine. Ensworth also has a Big, Physical TE going to Clemson as well. He can hurt the Bulldogs if they don't watch. The Smyrna O??.........I hope they show all the cards in the deck this week. Smyrna needs to play very, very well to move the chains on the Tigers. Can Smyrna win........yes......but the "A" game needs to be played on offence. Not the C- game we have seen up to this point. Go Dogs!!!

I got your point. If I came up with a team, tell me how it maters in Friday nights game? They still have 11 players; they still strap it up just like a public school would. I'm from Ohio and there, Privet schools are mix in with public schools in all divisions and yes they win a lot of the championships but it is competitive. And guess what? Public schools do win against privet schools more then you might think. It all comes down to the kids and how they play. Enswoth's best against Smyrna's best. Ensworth being a privet schools should not be an "out" if Smyrna lost, IF!!! (Being the key word) That's my point. Man!!!! I did not want to get into this privet/public crap and you got me typing about it. Stop it........ it's Irrelevant! I'm done

Don't even start with that privet school advantage crap. It is not relevant on Friday night. Their 11 will play our 11 and we'll see who come out a winner. I will say this......the Dogs will come to battle with a good plan and will come to battle knowing they can win. Quick point about Smyrna’s offence.......Smyrna has been missing 2 of their 300 pound linemen the last 2 or 3 games. I think they are both back this week. (I know 1 is for sure) Everyone is forgetting that many of the Smyrna starters on O were banged up early and are now getting back in the line up. #20 was out 3 weeks and played last week and boy is he is a defined game changer when healthy. Just a few pieces of food for thought for ya. Man, I can’t wait until Friday night. I think many people will be very surprised what they see out of Smyrna.

I know 1 thing......he/she has mad a few folks upset with the stupid comments. Oh well enough on the donkey. I think Smyrna come out on top this week but close.........I can say this with complete certainty, the game will be physical!!!!!! I agree with the poster a few back, saying that the offence needs more imagination. I don't think the staff needs to go, I think they need to embrace some change. The have super fast athletics. They need to get them in space with quick hitters. Not Hail Maries to the sidelines. I'd love to see some slot or WR screens. Some plays where the QB takes 2 steps and fires, maybe a post pattern or 2. What about faking the flag route and hooking back for a 10 to 15 yard gain. There is so much talent and speed on the field for Smyrna’s O, but they needs to open up to take advantage of it. If Smyrna can do a few of these things, it will open up holes for the run game and then the great backs can shine. If not the Defense’s can and will continue to stack up and Smyrna will be in defensive battles all year.

What in the world are you talking about? I think you've lost it. Smyrna has 1 District loss......1.......no way are they are out of this thing. "Getting schooled" What?........Tell us, what game was Smyrna out of in the 4th Quarter? You can't because Smyrna was in it late in every game they have lost. Yes, even Brentwood.......score was 6-6 middle of the 4th, and then the turnover bug hit them. Oh yea, you students don’t go to away games, so you wouldn’t know. All you saw was a final score. Were you even at the Blackmen game? Smyrna’s D did not give up a TD to a squad that has scored over 40 points in ever game except for Smyrna. Of course their schedule has been pretty weak up till now. But anyway, get a clue before you start spewing off garbage like that kid. If the students lost faith, that’s fine but I know that the players and staff still know the goals that were set at the beginning of the year are reachable. I won't even respond to your last comment. Outrageously stupid!!!

Well, nothing will happen........life will go on for the Guru.......... he will be fine. I would not worry about that, Smyrna will still be in the mix at the end. Just a hunch! Go Dogs! P.S. I had not heard about Bryson Hip. Maybe that's why he has not been running as hard and hitting the holes as hard as in the past. That would make sense.

I will write a few words on here and hope the powers to be at Smyrna are reading it. This is not just from an every day fan. Look deep middle in the passing game. Wide Open!!!! You don't have to change what your doing in the run game, just do it with precision and passion The holes are there.......hit them fast and hard……1 cut and get north and south in the run game. Get yours backs (mostly #5) to stop dancing and hit the holes!!! O-line needs to finish their blocks and that will come with time with this young line but the holes are there, hit them hard!!! If this is done next week and weeks down the road, it will open up so much on the offensive side of the ball. D look solid...very solid.......very impressive that Blackmen was not able to score a TD the whole game on the D. Tighten up on the special teams and open up the (O) and you be fine. GO DOGS!!!! Expect to win......don’t hope to win. Believe in yourselves, if not no one else will.

I want to say this. This thread makes me sick. There is not many things on here I can give a crap about. Thank god the game is close to kick off because I don’t really want to read any more of this crap. It's not about the game. This game had soooooo........many good thing that could have been discussed but yall want to talk about anything but the game…..the coaches……the big time atmosphere that can be expected. LOD, I was at practice for a bit today and he was going with the 1's. He was braced and taped up but walking and running without a limp. He's not 100% but I'm pretty sure he'll go. As far as the Chicken Sadwich.........YUMY!!!!! I'll be trying that......thanks for that bit of info. GO DOGS!

Smyrna has traveled well in the past and I'm sure this year will be no different. You can bet, some of us "Smyrna folk" will be there good and early, firing up the grill. Look forward to some go old Williamson county hospitality.
