Humboldt scrimmaged Bolivar last night and the Vikings were absolutely dominant! I don't really know if the Vikes defense is just THAT good or if Bolivars offense is just that bad. The Backers were in the backfield all night with many tackles for loses. The offense was pretty good as well will a couple long break away TD runs. Next scrimmage is this Friday @ USJ I believe. Then it will be time for the Jamboree & the Vikings will play Dyersburg @ Dyersburg.

Humboldt down by 10 going into the fourth...sounds like they are playing like crap.. this one don't look good.

If all is true about CU being the better team over Westwood i'll pick Humboldt by 10.

Humboldt is like a magnet to drawing the other best team in the turny for the 1st round match up...

If u get to see Humboldt play this year in the boro look for 5'10 Jr. G Quan Campbell (#23).. he is the best penetrating guard in single A. he has an array of quick off the dribble moves that can leave the opponent with his shorts around his ankles..

I have a feelin this will turn out to be a close one but ill go with the vikes on the W.. Humboldt normally seems to let unfamiliar teams play at the same level with them year in year out and i dont think this year will be any different..but i think if we out rebound them, get on the run & get hot from the field we will take this one by 10 or so.. but who knows?

Humboldt always has a huge following to the boro every year last year they filled up over half of the murphy center..

I hear Clarksville Acd. has two 6'5 players that are brothers or twins maybe? not sure but one of em is a legit DI talent..

Hopefully this is the vikings year but who knows? lol seems like ive been saying that for the past 5 years.. anyone know when the drawing for the brackets is? Im hoping HBT will get on the opposite side of Clarksville Acd. and the top two teams will meet up in the championship but that hardly ever happens.. anyways good luck to all teams but go Humboldt!

Humboldt beat City U. with a final of 62 - 53.. Quan Campbell was the player of the game in my mind He had a killer one handed jam! and also some smooth handles.. Brooks played poor and will have to be on top of his game when they take the floor in the boro..Humboldt subed twice the whole ball game which will have to change in the boro if we want to win.. Free throw shooting was terrible and that must change.. i think the poor ft shooting was a result of hbt being totally gased. Anyways Humboldt beat a very solid and bigger team in City U. I wasn't overly impressed with hbt and i think they couldve played much better but maybe their saving that for tha boro'?!?!

I know nothing about City U. but i think the Vikings will get the W.. with the home court edge.

Wow!!! This is a YOUNG Humboldt team with 1 key senior & many sophomores that see alot of playing time.. only time will tell but I'm smelling another Big Humboldt run all the way to the boro!

Humboldt's nowhere near as good as years past. Gibson Co. played with Humboldt all night and had several chances to lead in this game. Dunbar and the other big man for Humboldt outrebounded GC all night as we were undersized. Humboldt is good, don't get me wrong, just nowhere near as good as last year. It was a great game tonight and a great atmosphere. Just wished GC could've pulled that out. Yea that is true but did you notice that Campbell didn't play?

Here's an update out of Humboldt, the viking's are sporting a 2-1 record three games into this season with a win over Martin-Westview 58-57, a loss to Middleton 67-70 & a win tonight over GC 70-65. I haven't had the chance to catch a game yet. But I hear this team is going to be pretty good, their fairly young & should develop as the season gets going!

Well i want to give congratulations to the adamsville cards, and good luck in next week, i'll be pulling for yall! On another note, #35 Josh Carrol was the biggest hoss i've seen all year! man is he a football player! By far the hardest runner i've seen all year long!

Well tomorrow night's the night! I believe both teams are prepared to the fullest extent & it will be a great playoff football game! I look for an evenly matched slugfest the team that is the most consistent on both sides of the ball will come away with the W. I except this one to come down to the wire!!! Go luck to both teams!!

Just based on what I'm hearing..Humboldt has a couple transferred in from Jackson..This is what I was told by Coach Whitby.He said Humboldt would be tough.He also said Union City will always have talent..He downplayed Lake Co.Said basically football was taking away their basketball skills and it would be after Christmas before he knew what we had..Lake Co will be at the top when the football players get back..If after Christmas ..Cody Taylor is on the court.I have no idea until then so I'm not counting him as of yet,Lake Co will be quick and a good team..But if Cody Taylor is playing..Lake Co will be quick..tall and a very very good team..! Well i only know of one kid who came in from North Side, but not sure how good he is. The top two players on the team will be Dunbar & Campbell. This year the rest of the district will get to see how good these two kids really are with out the shadow of Crayton & Taylor. Dunbar will be able to show full potential & it wouldn't surprise me if he plays just as good as Taylor & Crayton did last year.

Yea it's still football time in the west!! But don't worry once fb season wraps up west tn bball fans will be crashing these board in full force!!!!

This one should come out to be a defensive game. The team that plays better one D will come away with the victory. The Cards have been out of action for 2 weeks & that may hurt then on the first drive but after that it will not matter. I haven't heard much about the Cards offense what do they run & how do they look? If the Vikings come to play,this one has all the makings of a good one but if HBT wants the W all things will have to fall into place just right.
