  1. Thank You P & G...Maybe we can better that this year! I believe we can...
  2. Congrats to the Rebels...Looking forward to meeting the tigers in a couple of weeks!!
  3. South Fulton WINS 36-30 in another nail biter! We are now 3-0 (1-0 in the region). The caravan was about a mile long and they knew it when we got there. This was our first real test against a very fast offense. The boy's reached down deep and for another week did what they had to for the win. That #1 and 10 gave us fits all night...they are very good on the ground. Whew my ticker needs a week off, but we will be ready for Bruceton by then. Does anybody know when the last time South Fulton started the season 3-0? Just curious...
  4. wow what a shoot out! Two great teams head to head! Now thats football! Congrats to UC...
  5. The tailgaiting starts @ 5pm at SFHS and your invited! The facepainting is reserved for Bruceton and the topless crap could happen at the Union City game! There are some really good regional games this week and good luck to all! See yall in the Friday night highlights!
  6. Don't count on a win over South Fulton this year, They are not pushovers this year.
  7. Congrats to McKenzie on a solid start. oking forward to week 4, should be a huge game.
  8. I agree with evrything you have said. The problem is we have been off the grid for so long most other teams are not going to take us seriously. That's ok with me. If they continue to take us lightly we can win alot more games this year. As far as luck goes, we are making our own luck by playing hard, hitting hard, not making penalties (thats the big one), and never giving up on the play. They call it luck, I call it discipline, heart and the coaches and players believing in each other. I believe....do you?
  9. Thanks Butchie! We did it again with a win over Ballard County 20-14. Ballard County beat themselves with penalties and turnovers, but the SF boys played their hearts out. They will have to improve their game to win many more. They have it in them and the fans believe in them. The rushing leader from last week did not play this week, so our offensive yardage was a little more difficult to come by. The jr Fowler really had a great game as did Cherry, and Hawks. I'm proud of the entire team and like you said...a win is a win. We will have another non region game next week against Fulton City KY. This will be a close game! Good luck to all reigion 7 teams this week!
  10. Thanks it is going to be an exciting year
  11. Any winning tradition has ALWAYS started with 1 win. We are taking it 1 game at a time, and until SF loses a regional game I will continue to call it as it is! This coaching staff and this team are for real. Will we win every game? No. Will we win state? No. Will we make the playoffs? I beleive, the coaches believe, the fans believe, and you will too at the end of the season. Am I steping out on a limb? Yep. Time will tell /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" />
  12. With South Fulton's win over West Carrol 33-20 Coach Kelly Spivey has started a new winning tradition against all odds. With only 25 players on the roster he has taught this team how to believe in themselves and become winners. West Carrol was no push over as that # 5 was very impressive with his power, but they could not stop the Devils from reaching their destiny tonight. South Fulton has to work on tackling better but they are swarming the ball and team tackling again! The Offense basically marched down the field and could not be stopped. This team is for real, and the Seniors have stepped up to lead this team to victory. SF Linebacker/Full back Cherry scored twice, had 1 fumble take away/recovery, and several tackles. His counter part JR Fowler also had a great game. QB Hawks worked the offense as though he had been doing it for years although this was his first game at that position. He also kicked his first PAT. 77 Curtis dominated the defensive line and made several stops, McConnel and Garmen made some critical receptions and Avent (2 TD) was a shining star running that pig skin. Getting the first few yards on the play was easy as the holes were created, but he kept going following his down field blocks using great vision and gaining tremendous yardage. Region 7-1A will be a wild race this year.
  13. I'm calling South Fulton 28-0 South Fulton's defense will stop them completely if they don't give up the big play.
  14. Thanks, We will be getting better all season and I think we will give you a run for your money the last game of the year!
  15. The Red Devils played very well. The defense was nearly flawless. We still need to tackle better and work on pass coverage, but the improvement over last year is astounding. The Offense only had three miscues, false starts, a couple of which could have caused us to lose a score, they had 0 penalties in their first scrimmage. The penalties this year will be very critical for South Fulton as many of the games they will play could be lost or won due to penalties. Cherry played a great Defensive game... I don't have the stats but I know he had 1 interception, 1 sack, 1 fumble take away, and several tackles. On offense I commend the line on a couple of plays in which the hole was so big my grandmother could have gained at least 10 yards! The line still has to do some work on firing off the line in a short yardage situation. Hawks did wonderful at the helm with some great passes and he made all the extra points for the Devils. The jr Fowler had some impressive runs. McConnell did great on both sides of the ball. The secondary did not give up the "big" play for the first time in over a year. Can any one catch Avent? All in all the team worked and played as a team AGAIN, and to the coaching staff a big WAY TO GO!
  16. I think they are going to be o.k. this year still rebuilding a little. This is only what i have heard from one of the players dads as i have not seen them play this year. We meet them in week 0 this friday and I predict 28-6 South Fulton.
  17. The scrimmage for this Friday at South Fulton has been canceled by Houston County. The coach has contacted several schools to try and put together another scrimmage but so far no one has replied. The Jamboree is a week from Friday at Fulton City, SF vs Reidland. If they get a game together I will post it as soon as we are notified
  18. As a new poster I tried to visit both links, they did not work...
  19. Ahh shame on you for picking South Fulton Last! They have had a lot of talent on the team the last three years but never had a coaching staff that cared. This year is different. Coach Spivey and the rest of his staff are amazing. I'm not going to go on and on about discipline, attitude, conditioning, fundamentals, reading the play, etc ( oh I guess I just did) all I'm going to say is that South Fulton will NOT be in last place this year, and it would not surprise me to see them make the playoffs! I think every team they play will be in shock at the end of the game. GO BIG RED!
  20. I was also at the game and would have to agree that Waverly did not dominate on either side of the ball. Waverly played a good scrimmage. South Fulton was dominated most of last year as teams were putting in second string players by the second quarter and running entirely second and third string most of the second half of almost every game. That was domination. There was not the smallest sign of that Friday night. We might not win every game but we will no longer be dominated with coach Spivey and his staff guiding this team.
  21. Skylar was breaking open a long run when Waverly grabbed his face mask which jerked his head back. Skylar refused to go down immediately and dragged the defense man a couple more yards and pulled a muscle in his neck. He did not play much after that series as a precaution. He is fine and will be ready for the next scrimmage. I also agree that while South Fulton is not yet a powerhouse team, they will have a substantially better season then they have had in the last three years. I too was proud of the team and the entire coaching staff Friday night. Those long practice sessions have already payed off as you can see and hear the difference and progress this team has made! It is going to be a great year.
