  1. True. TCA is the most unathletic team in the semi's this year. Or ever for that matter. They are here because they possess a fire and drive that no other TCA team has ever had. If they win friday night, it will not be because of X's and O's, it will be because of heart and determination.
  2. Well, I guess we are all just sitting back watching McKenzie folks tell inside jokes. After all, there's really nothing to talk about regarding the game. It's the semi's and both teams are good and both teams will show up friday. Guess we just waitin' til friday...
  3. Yall were pretty darn balanced in 07. QB could chunk it to some fast WR's and yall had some small but stoud RB's, not to mention a physical line. That was a good team. Yall just self destructed in the Title game against a South Pitt team that didnt need any help to begin with.
  4. Let's move on. Both teams played hard and TCA is moving on to McKenzie. The fact that Humboldt was there in the first place tells me that they must be pretty stinkin good. One more thing. Saying you were not impressed with Humboldt in a TCA win makes TCA not look as good! I can assure you. Being put out of the playoffs early is a terrible feeling. Dont rub it in... Lets go over to the McKenzie thread and give Butchie a hard time...
  5. Yes I will. We didnt make the playoffs in MS so ill be there. Flagpole?
  6. Well maybe the third time at McKenzie is the charm for TCA. Last time these two teams met, JW had a bum shoulder and before that he had a high ankle sprain. Please dont think I am making excuses for earlier this year, just worth noting that JW is the kind of player that simply wants to play. He's not the kind of kid that complains about an injury, or even the Mr. Football nominations (or lack there of). All im saying is to my knowledge he is healthy this time. I promise you, you will hear no excuses from me Saturday morning if the Rebels whoop our arse. One difference this go around is the absence of #11 for TCA. He tore his ACL a few weeks back and will not be on the field this Friday. I hope TCA learned from their first trip to McKenzie this year; and I hope they can pull the W this week! Go Lions!
  7. Well Tcaee thats not totally true. They were trying to encouraged their team just like we try and do. TCA just flat out flew to the football and wanted it more. Final score indicates that.
  8. This Humboldt team in my opinion is the fastest team that any TCA team has ever had to play! I watched film on them today, and there are some areas that the TCA coaches are going to try to exploit. If they are successful in making adjustments at the line TCA will do fine. Honestly speaking though, Humboldt is too fast for TCA. I hope the Lions proove me wrong and make their first ever trip to the semi's! It's going to be a dog fight out there. Go Lions!

  10. Let me just say that Riverside got a good one in Maxwell(D Coordinator). Alot of the kids on TCA's team have a strong bond with him. Glad to see he and Riverside are doing well. The O-Coordinator for TCA and the D-coordinator for Riverside have grown up together and are very good friends. You better believe they have been fired up all week in anticipation for this one! Riverside is a powerful team and I expect if TCA struggled with the physicality of McKenzie, then they better buckle up those chin straps a little better this week. Like Ritz said, TCA better score quick and let Riverside play catch up if they want to win this game. (Hopefully) TCA by 7. But I do think Riverside is going to be hard to beat. Best wishes to both teams!!
  11. Blocked PAT, failed 2 pt attempt, thought Id spice it up a little bit. After all, you ain't a fan if you dont expect to win! Go Lions! Plus, I gotta ruffle Butchie's feathers at least once this year!
  12. I shot a crow this morning deer hunting... Its in the freezer for one of us to eat on Saturday... Hope its you!
  13. I dont care how good TCA is, JCS and USJ will play them tough and beat them more times than not. Its that cross town rivalry thing. I believe McKenzie folks will be surprised to see the REST of TCA's team on friday night. I dont care how good Washington is, games are not won by one player. The remaining 10 players on the field deserve much more credit than they are getting. Duckman said it best, both teams need this kind of game this time of year. This game has playoff feel written all over it. Best of luck to both teams. TCA in a close one, 26-21!
  14. At this point both teams need to win! Unfortunately our region gets screwed out of the playoff picture by a terrible 1-9 Memphis team every year! But I think the importance of this game is felt by both sides. Should be a good one.
  15. I think TCA takes this one at home. TCA 27 Adamsville 14 TCA scores nearly 29 points a game this year while giving up close to 19 a game. TCA is 3-2(1-0) on the season. Losses to USJ(4-1) and JCS(4-2) Adamsville scores close to 25 points a game and gives up close to 20 a game. Adamsville is 3-3(0-1) on the season. Losses to Kossuth, MS(3-3), Riverside(5-0), and Collinwood(3-2)
  16. I am currently in my first year as a coach of a school in Oxford, MS. We are in our first year of JV football, i may be able to pass along some info and advice some people gave me. give me your email and Ill get back to you. Best wishes.

  17. Riverside 27 - A'ville 14. Riverside will be tough this year.
  18. Id say USJ did. Both teams played well in the trenches, but throughout the night USJ linemen put pressure on Washington.
  19. USJ 27 TCA 20 With about 1 min left TCA trailed 27-14. Scored after a USJ squib kick. Recovered the onside kick. Drove the field with 35 seconds left. With 8 seconds left scored and had it called back because of procedure. Washingtons final pass was deflected and TCA falls. One of the best HS games Ive seen in a long time. Congrats to USJ. USJ was much more disciplined than TCA and in the end that proved to be the difference. Very impressed with the backs from USJ, very physical, hard runners. Hope TCA can rebound next week vs Manassas. Best wishes to USJ in their season.
  20. Toss up. USJ is always stout and this game has been very competitive over the last few years. TCA has been mediocre at best over the past few seasons, the bright spot being Washington. However, this TCA team is older and more experienced than they have been since 2007. I like what I see in TCA this year. The O-Line is the only question mark I see. If the line plays well Friday night TCA wins. USJ is always very disciplined and aggressive on defense. The match up in this game to watch for is TCA's O-Line vs USJ's D-Line. The game is won in the trenches in my opinion. If TCA's line shows up, TCA wins 28-21. If USJ wins the trench battle, USJ wins 31-21
  21. I remember that kid too! He was a beast! Also the quarterback in '98 was amazing too. What happened to both of them?
  22. Saw TC murder USJ in the state title game in the late 90's? or early 2000s the exact year slips me by, but either way that TC team was something else. One of the most one sided ball games Ive ever seen.
  23. I wasn't trying to imply that he would lose his religion. I was saying that it was very important to him to have a Christian education. By him not being able to pay he would be losing that. The point im trying to make is that plenty of kids struggle to stay in private schools year in and year out due to finances. Is it wrong for an outside source to help out a kid and his family who has been attending the school his entire life? And my last point in my previous point was in regards to life in general. Each year God is continuously squeezed out of every institution in our country. Did anyone ever consider that our countries problems might be from a lack of blessing by our Heavenly Father, due to the nature of our disregard for Him?
  24. Ive got a story for y'all. Bear with me for a moment. I have ties to a small private Christian school in Mississippi that plays in a private only league. But for the sake of my point, lets say they play in a public league. The families that send their kids to this school are by no means well off, and some of them are bad off. The story i have is about a kid who had been attending the school since first grade. His parents scraped the money together every year to send him to the school which cost around 2500 a year. When the kid became a freshman he joined the football team. He wasn't a stellar athlete by any means, but nonetheless was a part of the team. Part of the family that was the school. His freshman year his parents were unable to pay the kids tuition on time and the school gave them one year to pay them back, allowing the kid to work for part of his tuition by staying after school and cleaning. One year rolled around and financially the family couldn't afford to send their son to the school anymore. The young man sobbed in the coaches office for over an hour saying how sad he was that he had to leave. After praying over the situation, the young man left, and the coaches sat in their office saddened at the situation. It wasn't about playing sports, it was about giving up a Christian education. That was the sole reason the parents sent their son there in the first place. Private Christian schools dont just provide a better education or better sports potential, I know plenty of private schools that offer less than public schools, but what they do provide is a Christian education. A christian education that is irreplaceable. Later that day as the coach was walking down the hallway the secretary stopped him. She said that a lady had just walked in and wrote a check for the kids debt and remaining HS education. The kid was allowed to stay and participate in varsity sports for the remainder of his HS career. Sorry for the long story, but I had to tell it to ask my question. Would this kind of financial aid be considered recruiting if the school was in a public league? Tell me what you think, im curious to see what anti-privates say to this. BTW I was a volunteer assistant coach for the school which couldn't afford to pay for more than one coach. (God has been kicked out of schools, government, homes, and even some churches; but he will never let those who love him fall from his grace and blessings. I don't know about y'all, but I'd like for a God like that to be put back into the things I mentioned above.)
