  1. I believe its going to be an entertaining season folks
  2. House inside city limits/tuition...6/half dozen LoL. Now for an insightful answer, do some diggin barb!
  3. An additional year of experience for Tanner as the starting QB of a playoff caliber team is more valuable to the program than throwing in some stud to sling it around for a season...in my opinion. However, I do agree that the D-line is pretty sound heading into this season to say the least. Who is going to take over in the secondary though???
  4. Ok, I know most readers have thought it so I'm gona go ahead and be the one to throw it out there. If dude is so good then why would his parents not choose to buy a house within the city limits? Don't mean to ruffle any feathers fellas, just wondering like I'm sure everyone else who hears this will.
  5. So let me get this straight, yals best athlete isn't going to play because hes deciding to become a one sport athlete? Who is coaching the baseball team now anyways?
  6. RyanD22, are you sure about that 1400 off. yards? I heard he played for a school that ran a 10-man offense and that he had over 9,000 total yards himself. I've seen him play bb, I've seen him sprint. I've never seen him in football pads, but I keep hearing how he's going to be the greatest the Greeneville gridiron has ever seen. I guess we will all know come August...that is, if he's in a Devil uniform. I'm just sayin... And the award for stirring the pot goes to...lol c'mon man. He played for Cherokee last year; the Cherokee Nation (not the one in Rogersville). I hope hes coachable. I don't see our man coming in and taking the starting position away from Tanner in this situation. Caine and company know what they're doin nooo sweat, just another horse in the stable.
  7. Is Tanner Stewart the "athlete" you are referring to?
  8. Davis of Pigeon Forge is a guaranteed All-American...good job Cody
  9. PBD! Where you at buddy?! I missed you this weekend...aint the same without you there. Please don't disappear and force me to concider BCB to be my best CoachT friend haha!, j/k. BTW...how many more young'ns are you gona have in the finals BCB, geez!
  10. Saw a bumper sticker today that read "my son can whoop your honor students @$$" haha! As wrestlers isn't this all we're concerned with? LoL IQ's are over-rated, haha.
  11. "It doesn't define who you are, it's just something that you do." My stomach still turns when I see guys take their place on the podium...but it may be this very thing that drives me in everything that I do. I feel as though it's the low points in life that allow us to appreciate the fruits of our labor. So to all those who left Nashville with a sick feeling in their stomach remember one thing, when there is only one set of footprints in the sand is when he carried you. Never EVER stop persuing your dreams; the only mistake that can be made from this situation is to not learn from it. Wresltling is about building men...not medals. Take what you have learned and apply it to your life, and if you never set foot on a mat again then be great husbands and fathers. I would never be where I am in my life now if it were not for the great sport of wrestling. I owe everything I have to the coaches who have put up with me along the way and even those who still do today.
  12. Coach Morgan tolerated me as a kid running around the GIT and mentored me at Carson-Newman camps during the summer. Jim Morgan is the face of Tennessee wrestling as far as I'm concerned and an inspiration to every aspiring coaches life that he has touched. This years state tournament was the first time I have ever been in the same gym as Coach Morgan and not gone and atleast shook his hand...something I will regret the rest of my life. He will be deeply missed in Chatt-town as well as across the rest of the state. We as coaches owe it to Jim to pick up where he left off and put Tennessee wrestling on the map.
  13. I've seen this happen a couple times, one of which involved me. It's unfortunate but don't be too quick to pass judgement on the Henry kid; we've all done stupid things out of frustration in our youth...especially when it comes to things we're passionate about. Talk about zero to hero. (no offense) But three years ago the only thing you knew about Cookeville was that it was a good stopping point on the way to the state duals. There are obviously some good things going on over that way...keep it up!
  14. If anyone wins a title from Knoxville it will be a suprise to everyone, this year. LoL I won't completely disagree with you but yea you're right it has been a building year around here this season. I'm not saying he's gona take gold, but I feel like he can wrestle with anyone in his bracket. It's the state tournament...there has been crazier things happen. Look foward to seeing some top notch wrestling!
  15. Best of luck to Herold from West, dude has worked his butt off...hope he brings the gold back to Morristown. Region I pride!
  16. Adam Hill from Knox West at 171...looking to bring home some hardwear
  17. Thats pretty nit picky, but I'll take your word for it.
  18. Haha! Guess again! Sure wish yal woulda been on the other side of the bracket.
  19. -Bottom man set! -Cover top! (place hand naval first then elbow, with head on or over the opponents spine; and no contact between the back leg of the top man and the rear of his opponent. -Set! -Whistle!
  20. LoL it just made me tough...me and Josh have been pals ever since and keep in touch, and I'll always be proud to say I attended the same practices as Crosby. They're great "big" guys haha.
  21. Not much fun to be picked on by though. I specifically recall Josh and Daniel hurling Joel and I through the air back and forth to one another like we were medicine balls, lol. But then again I also remember a couple of times that Joel and I were assigned to follow Daniel during team running to give him some extra inspiration haha.
  22. Pigeon Forge...the small school champs.
  23. The region as a whole is in a bit of a slump this year.
