  1. I was just wondering how many people they had on the coaching staff at Hampton I counted 14-15 male adults on the field during pre-game Looked very unorganized.......that was after I could finally take my eyes off the blue lines you had the field marked with......unbelievable I also agree with a poster earlier........And I know it's easy to sit back and criticize after the fact.....BUT........down 14 points, 6 min left in game........3 running plays called in a row????
  2. Harriman? Bledsoe? Really??? W O W ! I wasn't emphasizing those particular teams as much as I was pointing out that they were all on the road. Hence the word "AT" in all caps. Back when I was in school, all caps is intended to show emphasis. WOW
  3. Just keep doubting the tigers, that's the way we like it. Nobody gave them a chance at Oneida, and they turned the ball over 5 times and won Nobody thought they could take the long ride up to Hampton, and stop there big boys up front.......it was actually the tigers dominating the line of scrimmage. Only one turnover, and controlled the game from start to finish. I'm sure nobody is giving them a chance this week either......do they have to make it to Cookeville to get some respect???? So, they will go on the road......AGAIN........be the underdog.......AGAIN......and play Rockwood football BTW.....the Tigers have won 7 in a row with wins AT Bledsoe, AT Harriman, AT Oneida, and AT Hampton.........Maybe they shouldn't even make the trip to BB, you guys are just too superior.
  4. Game Day baby!!!! Never hard to get outta bed on Friday morning. May everyone's travel to today's game be safe. May both teams play injury free. The tigers are pumped.....the school is pumped........the town is pumped.........just tired of talking and ready for football. GO TIGERS!!!
  5. Well, here we are on the eve of week 3 of the REAL season. I am just chomping at the bit for another Friday night of play-off football. I think this week was longer than last week.......the days just seemed toooooooo long. IMO.....My tigers haven't played a complete game since Bledsoe County. The last 3 weeks they have played sloppy at times, and turned the ball over too much. BUT, they have played very well at crucial points in those games and found a way to make plays and win. This is the week they put it all together and play 4 qts of Rockwood Football. I have been pretty close on my score predictions the past 2 weeks, and I just have a feeling about this week. This will be an old fashioned slobber knocker Rockwood 20 Hampton 13 GO TIGERS!
  6. BTW....the current starting QB did not start a game until week 5 Many things have changed an adapted over time with the tigers They are not the same team they were at the beginning or even middle of the year But then again............who is! Just wish we were closer to Friday Looking forward to it GO TIGERS
  7. I agree something is very wrong if you are looking ahead in the 3rd round. BUT You had a bye, then beat a terrible Sunbright team 65-0.......so you really haven't played football in 2 weeks I think it will be very unlikely, but on any given Friday night....well you know the rest.
  8. As I've said before: Harriman is all about #4......If you stop him....it goes downhill fast for the Blue Devils They are very one dimensional.......No threat to throw the ball....but if they do, it will be to #4 Rockwood popped him in the mouth a couple of times right before halftime, then it was off to the races in the second half. As for Grace: Although I can't stand them, they are very impressive on Offense.....multiple formations, multiple weapons, and extremely organized. Often times they are at the line ready to snap, and opposing defenses are still trying to figure out the formation and where to line up. Grace should handle this fairly easily......not often do you see teams look ahead in the play-offs, but I'm sure they see South Pitt lurking in the shadows next Friday night
  9. Don't let all this negativity be your impression of the true tiger fans. We are a huge under dog, playing on the road, at a place that is used to winning. Did I mention we are on the road??? A long way from Roane County. Quite an uphill battle. Little bit about last week: IMHO....we were able to barely survive total disaster in the first half. Had 3 turnovers, and just didn't play well at all. We were able to make some key defensive plays with our backs against the wall. This combined with a flat Oneida team that only got 7 points out of 3 trips inside the Rockwood 10 yd line. After a second half opening TD drive by Oneida....Down 14-0. Then we just turned on the switch in the 2nd half, and played very well. Very proud of the tigers for scoring 21 unanswered points in the second half on the road against a good Oneida team. As far as this week, I won't make a prediction yet(although been pretty close the past 2 weeks) Looking forward to a well played game by both sides. I'll be in touch GO TIGERS!!
  10. This guy is a TOOL We would all be better off, if you would take your nonsense somewhere else. Nothing you have to say makes any sense, nor does it have any factual information that backs it up. You are a waste of message board space, and we are all dumber having read your posts. Shocker0=major TOOL
  11. WOW Very moving.....hard to type and wipe my eyes at the same time Great post
  12. Well boys......I was pretty close on the score for 2 weeks in a row. For Oneida--too many lost opportunities in the first half.....inside the tigers 10 yd line 3 times, and only 7 points......Could have easily been 21-0 at halftime......IMO--looked like one of the negative effects of an off-week in HS football....little flat For Rockwood--able to survive the 1st half mistakes that were made and still in the ballgame.....came out in second half and played much better. Go Tigers........gotta long, long, drive next week. P.S.--Nachos were awesome for that post celebratory snack!!!!!
  13. The wait is almost over. Another day closer. Taking off work early to make the trek up HWY 27 to Oneida. Like to watch both teams warm up and take in some cool mountain air. Also got to stop and grab a bite to eat. Think I'm going with the steakhouse, I might save the mexican place for a post game celebratory snack!!! GOOOOOOOO TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!! Rockwood 21 Oneida 20
  14. Thanks OHS87!!! I love mexican and chinese both........but probably not a wise decision right before kick-off. I might be watchin the second quarter from the handicap stall!!! Steakhouse sounds like it might be my best bet!!! Appreciate the info...........see you there.......I will be the guy wearin Green!!!!
  15. One day closer to football!!! This week is dragging, hopefully the back end of the week will go faster than the front end. Can't wait for the lights to come on up in Oneida friday night. Oneida people: Any good places to eat in or around Oneida??? Go Tigers!!!
  16. Take these for example: these are the financial report breakdowns for other states concerning play- off football games. Georgia HS Football Play-offs State--12% off the top After expenses are paid(including travel) Host Team--50% Visitor--50% Florida State--25% off the top Host Team--45% Visitor--30% *Host is responsible for expenses out of their share Texas State--15% Host team--Based on home gate Visitor--Based on visitor gate South Carolina State--20% Host team and Visitor team--different numbers for different classifications Kentucky State--0%....that's right, ZERO All expenses and profits are to be divided amongst teams participating Then we have Tennessee State--50% Host team--25% Visitor--25% BTW--I can't swear to it on all the states mentioned above, but the majority of them were either $6 or $7 dollars as the admission price. So, what's wrong with this picture???
  17. IMO.....I think people are more upset at who the biggest percentage of the $$ is actually going to. It would be 1 thing if everyone's $8 was going to be spent for the betterement of a particular school's athletic program. But, when half of your money is going to some douche bags leaning back in their office chairs with their feet up collecting checks........it bothers people. Not to mention....these are the same incompetent people that need 2-3 chances at drawing up a state tournament bracket P.S.--bigbearsfan--if you don't like people complaining....don't read it.
  18. Game will be tough for the tigers. Oneida is always a tough place to win. Tigers will need to play very solid football to have a chance. Also probably need a little luck. But, in the play-offs anything can happen.
  19. Final was 32-6 Rockwood Don't mean to toot my own horn but.......beep beep!!! Bosshog--I might be a newguy, but I know a lil more than the average bear. Oneida bound!! Go Tigers
  20. We will see if I am kidding myself or not...........I never said that Rockwood was going to out athlete anybody......I said they are playing well right now. Unaka is 5-5.......with wins against Hancock 2-8 Cloudland 3-7 N. Greene 0-10 Kings Acad 6-4 Cosby 4-6 Rockwood will be just fine.........see you at Oneida.
  21. If you go to the bracket links and click on team intructions It gives you the break down on ticket prices, home/away teams gate percentage, and the TSS a-holes gate percentage When a family of 4 can go to a movie cheaper than a HS football game something is very wrong
  22. The tigers should be able to handle this one with no problem. They are playing well. Back-ups should get some PT in the 4th quarter Rockwood 35 Unaka 6 Looks like we might actually have a dry friday night!!! Looking forward to make the trip up to Oneida!!!
  23. Other than the big win over Tellico.....Harriman really hasn't been impressive this season........Rockwood should win by 2-3 TD's Not to sure how you get Harriman hasn't done anything this year but its going to be a good game and showing another team that Harriman has alot more than just #4 Harriman wins in a close one. Harriman-28 Rockwood-21 C'mon now, you know that #4 is a huge playmaker on both sides of the ball for the blue devils........If he plays well, so do the devils.......if not, then they are in trouble.......I challenge you to give me an example this year when he played well they lost, or when he didn't play well they won??? I'm not taking anything away from his team, and I realize if they don't do their jobs, it is much tougher for #4 to do his...........but you have to admit that as #4 goes, so do the blue devils
  24. For Rockwood: All comes down to stopping #4, if you do that you win easily For Harriman: Either hope #4 has a very big night for you, or play keep away from the Rockwood offense This game has tremendous play-off implications, not sure if it is such a pivitol game for the devils All that aside, should be a great game, I believe one of, if not the oldest rivalry in TN I personally, am just hoping to head to the game without my umbrella and rubber boots!!!!
  25. At what point do we just eliminate week 0, and just put everybody in the play-offs. The regular season is only for seeding purposes. We are only talking about 17 more teams, that is only 14-15 more games??? TSSAA is all about $$$ anyway, that is just 14-15 more gates???
